My son is 9. He got this mitt for his birthday. I was impressed how easy it was to break in. He had trouble squeezing it closed, so I put a little glove oil on it and worked it open and closed. I did it for about 2 days and its throughly broke in and he can catch well with. Very pleased and happy with this product!

Glove is good for 7-8 yr olds. My litle league team got these for use during the season and they are ok but can be better laces started to break. Get a better glove if on a team, if you buy this use it for practice or fun

Great mitt for my 8 year old who just started learning the catcher's position a month ago. Broke in easily, lightweight and easy to control. Will purchase a heavier one as he gets stronger and matures at the position.
