Bought this glove less than 5 months ago. Stitching broke before we even had our first spring travel ball practice. Tried to rig it for the rest of the season and it’s just been a mess. Worst glove I’ve purchased. I will add… If it hadn’t fallen apart I would love the glove! Waste of money .

I was initially excited about this glove, but after two months of youth baseball the laces are breaking all over the place. The thumb strap is broken, lacing between the fingers is broken, lacing in the web is breaking. I’m heading into Dick’s tomorrow and I imagine they’ll give me a credit, but now we have to break in another glove mid season. My son is 9. I wouldn’t purchase this for anything other than tee ball. It won’t hold up. I thought it was at a decent price point to be a quality youth baseball glove. Not even getting a season out of it. Sorry for the bad news. I’d keep searching for a better glove.

This glove has been horrible for my son (9).The first one he had, the elastic band that adjusts the wrist ripped within two months and we had to get a new one. At the time, Wilson did not have any other models (except the A2000) in the size my son needed, so I reluctantly got a replacement from Wilson for the same glove. The leather string that is used to hold the elastic routinely becomes untied and the glove comes undone at the wrist. It is extremely difficult to thread back through because of the design of the glove. My son refuses to use it and is now using an old glove. Would not buy under any circumstances. Also, Wilson’s customer service was terrible when I submitted a claim for the first broken glove. Because they were out of so many gloves, I asked if I ... This glove did not even make it through one season for our 9 year old before the strings came loose. Both me and my older son have never experienced this in all of the years we have played baseball. Any glove worth its salt should be able to handle catches from other 9 year olds. Very disappointing
I’ve been going through gloves trying to find the right one for my son he’s about 3-11 45lbs and this glove is it!! Broke in this glove in about a day or two. A lot of other gloves were too heavy for him and nothing really looked comfortable for him. Until we got him this glove everything just feels more natural to him. This is a great beginner glove to get your kids comfortable with catching! Wish I would’ve found it sooner .
We have had two of these gloves for my 6 now 7 year old. This is a really nice glove for youth in that age bracket because of how light it is and fits well. First glove was fine and my son loved it! But, as others mentioned the laces ALWAYS comeuntied and loose. At first I looked at it as a way to constantly make sure his glove was tightened and snug. But, then it became an issue when it was always untied every day! My son really like the glove though so we dealt with it and he even played 8U travel ball with it fielding very well. But after 9 months from when we bought it it was obvious the glove was wearing down.Since my son was still 7 he couldn't really upgrade to a heavier real full leather glove, and he wanted the exact same glove. But after 9 months from when we bought it it was obvious the glove was wearing down.Since my son was still 7 he couldn't really upgrade to a heavier real full leather glove, and he wanted the exact same glove. So we bought a new one and started breaking it in by throwing the ball back and forth. Within the first week of breaking it in, The lace broke on the i web formation. Started looking online and noticed this was a known problem with this glove. The place is break very easy and it was true of this glove too. Found out a couple other people we knew that had the a500 also had broken laces. Sent in a warranty claim from Wilson, and they responded fast and gave us credit for a new glove. Problem is you get a voucher that you can only use on Wilson.com, and they are always out of their gloves! So many retailers online and in store still carry the same products that they show us out of stock on their website. So good luck ever buying a new glove unless you want to upgrade to a really expensive glove, which is not feasible for a young player. Very disappointed... Wilson you need to go back to the manufacturer and use better laces! Now we're looking at other brands of glove because of the experience.
We’re a month into the season. My 9 year old handed me his glove and said the thumb strap was loose. Nope it was broken, along with laces throughout the glove. Very cheap poor quality lacing. Definitely do not purchase for anything more serious than tee ball.
Wilson A500 Glove, 12.5" is a great glove, for both younger players, adult female, even adult males that require a 12.5" glove, as appropriate relative to the size and position.Pros:Soft all leather glove. No breakin required. Light weight, flexible and soft enough for younger users. Great quality and has a great look, with the lighter brown and beige web coloured pocket. Secure fit and tight finger stalls for a great feel.Cons: None. Although the soft material is possibly a concern for durability. Time will tell, but it seems to be holding up well.
Bought this glove for my 8 year old in February or March. It came in a timely fashion and was easy to break in. (He played a lot of catch and also used a glove locker with ball to create a good pocket). It's now early May, and half of the 5 is gone, and stitching in the fingers is starting to come undone. I'm a bit bummed. I just super glued the threads to hopefully stop it from unraveling more. Was hoping to get a few years out of it. It's far from abused.
I bought this glove to replace my sons Rawlings Elite because it was too heavy and he couldn’t quite shut it all the way, even after repeatedly breaking it in. As soon as I broke the A500 in, he was able to close the glove all the way. This glove is a lot lighter, and a better fit for him. Now the balls don’t drop out the glove anymore. So far so good with this glove. My son also plays travel ball so lets see how long this will last him with constant use. Thumbs up on this glove. (For reference, my son is 9yrs old, 67lbs and this glove is a size 11 and fits him perfectly.)
