After playing with the V7 blade for a year and playing with the blade pro for past 6 months (love it), I was hoping the blade V8 would be a happy medium between the two. I liked hitting with the V7, but found the pro to be much better on the serve and touch shots. I was looking for the feel of the blade pro (a little stiffer and more lively) but with a lower swingweight that would allow me a faster reaction time and an easier time generating racquet head speed. The V8 seems to have nailed it. Same feel and balance on the serve and touch shots as my blade pro, but with quite a bit more maneuverability due to the lower swingweight. Same excellent ball pocketing and control on groundstrokes as my V7 but with a much crisper feel. The V8 also seems to naturally allow for a more modern, more vertical swing path when needed, giving me access to much easier topspin (both the V7 and the pro really seemed to encourage flatter hitting, at least for me.) This is probably due to the lower swingweight. The end result for me was a racquet that truly feels like an extension of my arm and allows me to play more effortlessly, more intuitively, and more aggressively. I like it! FYI, I strung my racquet with Solinco Tour Bite 17 at 52 lbs and added a grip enlargement sleeve (12-16g) that probably made the racquet a couple points more head light. This is the same setup I use on all my blades as Wilson no longer makes an 5/8 grip.

I got two of the Wilson Blades not too long ago and at first I was very pleased thus why I bought two. The feel was amazing and I loved the easy power it generated. I felt like it lacked a little on the spin side but that's just me. I had both racquets strung at 46 lbs. I was in the middle of a match and one of the grommet eyelets snapped off. I was surprised. I am not an aggressive player that hits with a lot of power and it just snapped off. After it snapped, it started to eat away at my strings so I had to switch racquets. Also, I feel a noticeable difference between my two racquets. One of mine feels very head heavy and the other feels very balanced. I was very disappointed with Wilson with inconsistent quality and feel.

I have four blades - two V8 and two V6. It is an extremely versatile and comfortable racket and the V8 delivers exceptional control, feel and access to spin. I hit a one-handed backhand and am a generally a baseline grinder with spin on both wings, and I love this racket for my style and have never had arm issues (I string with normal tension polys). The increased weight on the v8 compared to older blades allows you to absorb more power. If you prefer more of a power racket or are a flatter hitter, this may not be a racket for you. Otherwise, it's going to do nearly everything you want from it.

I am playing with Wilson Blade and using Revolve Spin Strings. I like the combination of control and spin. I trust Wilson in the competitions. I am confident about my hits...I know the racket never lets me down. Quality is evident. I can recommend it to every player with confidence. The best racket ever.
I have been playing tennis for over 30 years and this racket is by far the most responsive and best playing racket I have ever used. I was a head fan for a long time but this racket made me change to wilson. I don't know how they made it work but the power, control and feel are amazing. I string mine at 58 lbs with a 17 guage spin string. If you have never been a fan of wilson rackets you need to try this one.
I am not a tennis expert and have only been having tennis coaching for 4 months. I finally invested in a decent racquet and I’m amazed at the difference. I find this racquet gives me more ball control but I haven’t lost my power. It also feels nice a light when swinging through the shot. It also is a great colour; a metallic green and gold.Tennis warehouse were great too; I paid over the phone as I wanted to split the payment between a gift credit card and my own and this was too easy! They also helped with the string choice and the racquet also arrived 2 days earlier than promised
This racket has pretty decent pop considering they made this blade so much head lighter than previous versions. In the next version I’d like to see a bit more head weight and a slightly higher stiffness rating more similar to the blades of old. A lot of advanced players I know have switched rackets because it’s too squishy now. Wilson, don’t try to make an advanced players racket suitable for low level players.
I bought the new blade about a month ago and the topmost grommet fractured. I contacted customer service and said that it’s not covered by warranty and I have to replace the bumper and grommet piece. That’s fine, except they aren’t available so now I have a broken grommet indefinitely. If getting this piece is anything like trying to order tennis balls, I’ll never get to use the racquet again. The wiser solution would be to send me the bumper and grommet set ASAP. I have ordered 8 racquets from wilson this year. It’s incredible they don’t have a solution to this simple fix.
Not too hard, not too soft, together with the Luxilon Element at 50lb, perfect combination of power and precision. I've had many rackets with many different strings and tension over last 40 yrs. This one gave me the amount of spin on the serve that I've not seen before. The serve lands, spins side way and out of sight with absurd curvature. Leaving the opponent standing there staring at the point of impact. Most impressive indeed. It just became my preferred weapon of choice on the court.
Highly recommend this racket, it feels lighter than your average 300gm - 325gm rackets, since swingweight and striffness is on the lower end. Full range of motion can be achieved without the blade feeling underpowered. It is a solid racket known for its “feel” and power and spin easily generated through 16x19 open string pattern. Technically if you are sound, this should make you feel to hit precise shots easily… Earlier used the babolat pure aero and switched recently.. that racket is lighter but seems heavier when swinging and messed up my technique. Go for it and buy it ,, don’t be scared of the weight , it does feel lighter when swinging and is a stable rally racket with awesome feel and control
