The picture above is my Wilson evolution basketball. I have had it for about 4 years and it is wonderful. My basketball is pretty beaten up however it’s been used indoor as well as outdoor courts and still is fully functional. Great grip and a good quality ball. It’s not heavy nor is it extremely light. It is very durable. I recommend buying this basketball as it will last you a long time and will guarantee you the overall best experience. The only ball that I would say can compete is a Baden basketball.

I bought this Wilson evolution ball over 3 months ago. When I first felt the ball, it felt amazing, in fact it still does to be honest. However, if you happen to play for awhile to the point your hands get sweaty, you will notice very quickly the ball will become slippery. I can only speak from my experience. As I am writing this post I am feeling on the ball as well. I love the ball... when it's dry(and/or my hands are dry). When multiple hands touch the ball, you would hope there is some moisture wicking technology to avoid the ball slipping. Maybe I may have to start using chalk or bringing a towel. I don't know. If you're not a person who cares about little details like this then by all means, get it. I literally have it in my lap and love it (when it's dry). Just received the ball and noticed right out the box that visually it had poor(maybe lazy?) design to it. It almost looks like the grooves are stickers that were placed there. The stitching also looks poorly made. I have not tried the ball on the court yet but hopefully everything goes well with it. The ball does feel great and looks nice if you don’t pay attention to minor details. I’ve played with this type of ball and have always loved it.

The Wilson Evolution basketball is one of the best and most popular basketballs there are. I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I can remember and have used a wide range of basketballs but this one has been the best so far. It’s an indoor game ball made with high quality composite leather, this ball has so far lasted me 2 years and still feels like its brand new. Although this is one of the best basketballs it does come with a bit of a price it starts at 70 dollars but if you catch it on sale, you can probably get It for cheaper. Even though the price is high it lasts for a very long time, instead of buying a decent ball that might only last half a year and cost 20 dollars you could save money in the long run by getting this ball that lasts a long time and is ... MoreThe Wilson Evolution basketball is one of the best and most popular basketballs there are. This ball also comes in 2 sizes 29.5 and 28.5 which is a women’s ball and men’s ball. The Wilson Evolution basketball has great grip but it’s also not sticky the thousands of micro touch points in the ball make the perfect grip and is great for dribbling and shooting. This basketball also doesn’t pick up the dust on the court like some others would, so it maintains the great grip and doesn’t wear down. The Wilson Evolution has one of the best and most consistent bounces on any ball I have ever tried. The ball was put through extreme tests to make sure the ball was perfect and had a consistent bounce and maintained good inflation before getting put on the market for sale. This ball has been approved by the NCAA and is the most used ball by high school athletes. This ball has also recently become the ball they use in the NBA.The Wilson Evolution basketball will make basketball way more enjoyable for you and the people you are playing around. It will also enhance your performance on the court with all the features that it has, this ball every year comes out with new and improved versions to stay at the top of list for the basketballs there are. This is a basketball I highly recommend you getting if you’re a hooper.
The Wilson Evolution is the best basketball to play with compared to any other brand of basketballs. The first reason is the great grip of the ball. The reason the grip of the Wilson Evolution is exceptional is the ball being developed with a microfiber composite leather cover. The ball has laid-in channels that enhance the gripability. Another reason is the ball being able to keep inflation for a long time period. Wilson has proved that their basketballs are the best at losing no inflation over time. This is true because I have noticed the ball never needs to be re-pumped and is still the perfect amount of bounce. Critics may say other brands like NCAA are better balls for indoor use ; however, The Wilson Evolution is best designed for being used indoors.
If you want to just pop trunk and grab your ball and start playing the Evolution is the best you can buy. There's literally nothing to do but grabbing it and start playing, no worries with inflating or cleaning it with special products, it's ready when you are. The uncompromised quality and workmanship deliver the exact great feeling over and over and it just keeps getting better. Forever a hooper with Wilson and the no 1 ball in the world Evolution. Thanks Wilson for staying true to the game and players by making the best you can buy at a affordable price.
I purchased this after reading other reviews. I was hoping the valve protrusion wouldn't be an issue, but it appears I was one of the unlucky "few" to receive. I will be returning the ball as it impacts play and not sure if I'll try my luck again. Customer response was not customer friendly at first and basically told me it didn't impact play. My ball also doesn't qualify for warranty as this issue doesn't meet their defect requirements. Pretty low standards and unsure why they wouldn't address these issues during quality control. It is annoying that I have to take the time to address with them and return. 2 star as I believe the quality would be fine except for the value issue and that I can return it at least.
Everyone loves this ball as it's everywhere. It's skin allows for some of my off shots to squeak through as it can get slippery. The skin on an Evo Nxt or Solution allows my average size hands to palm and extend, protecting from defenders. With that said, as a one on one connoisseur I choose the control over the "perceived" levity on off shots. The grippier balls seem to rim out more... but that applies to my opponents as well. I'll say that Evolutions are well constructed and optimally weighted overall. I'll say that as a slightly less expensive ball, with equal balance and optimal panel construction... The Baden Elite is a good option too. I can't say that I think it's better... just another option in a gym where most often the facility is full of Evo's and ... MoreEveryone loves this ball as it's everywhere. The Baden Elite is a good option too. I can't say that I think it's better... just another option in a gym where most often the facility is full of Evo's and everyone's personal Evo's can easily be confused. I feel the reticence in adoption of the Evo Nxt... but as the standard for the NCAA, we all might need to get on board. I'm glad to be able to handle the ball like a big man, as I love to play post. That's my primary focus in choosing a ball these days, so take the aforementioned with that in mind. Enjoy as Wilson Basketballs really are the best. :) :) ;)
I have another ball exactly like this one and it has very good grip and a soft feel. The one I currently received is smooth and has barely any grip. i thought maybe it was just cold and needed to be played with some but its just very smooth. Very hard to grip and not the quality you would expect from a $100 ball. In the description it is suppose to come with a free pump. That was not included in the package. I am going to return it because there is something wrong with this ball.
I love the ball. Fantastic feel, love the way the royal blue stands out and makes the ball unique. The gym I play at everyone has an Evolution but mine is unique with the Royal Blue. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it took Wilson forever to ship my ball to me. I ordered it on their site thinking that I would get it in a few days after ordering. Instead, it took a few weeks. Why? You make the ball! It shouldn't take that long.
