Defective Ball Falling Apart After 1 Kick
27 April 2024Dissappointed Dolce

Ordered 6 balls and a bag for my teen kicker to use at his private kicking lessons. After 1 kick, one of the balls’ stripes came undone at the stitching and started to tear. Reached out to customer service for a replacement and they refuse stating it’s misuse. Sorry, but if misusing, then all balls would be falling apart. You can tell the ball is pristine with no marks on it. Extremely disappointing after spending $800 on gear. Will be the last time I support Wilson Sporting goods. What about their 1 year warranty? The ball was a week old when this happened.

I bought this ball about 3 months ago and have treated this ball very well. I made sure it was only throw (never kicked or punted). It’s only been thrown on turf and was well conditioned before getting much use; however, recently I noticed that it was deflated. I pumped it up with more air and by the next day it wasn’t usable. It was a great ball when it lasted, but the lifespan of an expensive football like this should last a lot longer especially when it was handled with great care.

Fake Leather - Do Not Buy

Do not buy this ball! It is priced as genuine leather, the description states it's leather, and the packaging indicates it's leather but it is NOT real leather. The balls made in Vietnam are a fake composite material. Wilson's Customer Service department told me this directly. They do not look or feel like the real thing – the wording and logos look as if they’re stamped or melted into the ball (they have a cheap orange ring around them that does not change color). They certainly don’t react properly to ball-prep products (like mud, conditioner, and tack) like the genuine balls that come from Wilson's Ohio, USA plant.I’ve wasted too much time and money on four of these abominations. To say I’m frustrated and upset is an understatement.

GST Wilson Youth
25 October 2023

I have bought many Wilson GST footballs over the pays few years both individually and for my teams. I have had a couple issues with ball deflating and in the end, Wilson has processed warranty claims for me. The current ball we are using is the Leather Youth Sized GST. The laces have started coming undone and this affect ability to throw the ball properly. As this ball is less than a year old and is used sparingly, I initiated a warranty claim. My warranty claim was denied as I was told laces are not covered by warranty. Nowhere in the warranty guideline does it specifically exclude lace defects. Instead, I was sent YouTube videos to relace the ball myself. No thank you. I shouldn't have to waste my time and energy on Wilson's defect; i don't have any experience ... MoreI have bought many Wilson GST footballs over the pays few years both individually and for my teams. Laces are part of the football, and it is neither normal nor just cosmetic for laces to come undone/fall apart on a newer football. We have over 20 other GST footballs with no issues.

Good Quality Except…
19 September 2024

I have bought several Wilson GST balls over the years, from official to pee-wee size, and have found them to be of great quality. In this situation, I found after the first use, the ball had a slow leak. This would not be much of an issue except that with this being at the beginning of the season, and the time to resolve being between 1-3 weeks (for return, repair, and shipping back) my team would be greatly inconvenienced/disadvantaged, so I have had to make sure to re-inflate the ball before every game and monitor the pressure.

Good while it lasts, which isn’t long.

They really need to evaluate the quality of the bladders they use and the quality of production. I’ve had a 3 GSTs and only one has held air for its lifetime. The other two have deflated and won’t hold air after a year tops. I only play with my footballs on grass and use an air pressure gauge when airing them up to get the perfect amount of air. It doesn’t matter what you do because the quality of materials and workmanship are the problem. Sad that this is what is considered “the best” football.

Issue with balls holding air!
24 September 2023

I agree with the reviews left by others. We run a growing girls travel football program and have purchased several youth GST youth footballs from different vendors (they are popular and hard to get). I’m not sure if they’ve changed production but the older balls in our inventory seem to be longer lasting than some of our newer balls. Right now we have 3 balls all purchased within the last year that are completely useless. It’s sad because they are quality game balls overall but just not durable internally (especially at the price).

Purchased to replace my old GST from 2016 which developed a leaky valve and won't hold air. The new ball doesn't have a straight seam on it, the outer cover looks like it was installed twisted, and the "nose" where the four panels meet isn't symmetrical. The pigment used to color the ball is splotchy and uneven. I get that it is made by hand and won't be machine-made perfect, but my previous GST was pretty close. If this was a $20 ball I wouldn't even notice (or care) about these issues, but for $110 (my previous GST was $80) I expect a premium ball. I'm only chucking it around in the backyard and ultimately it is good enough for my use, but that seems to be the issue with pretty much everything in current year from my golf clubs to my vehicle...it's just "good ... MorePurchased to replace my old GST from 2016 which developed a leaky valve and won't hold air. At least it holds air. That's worth a star, I guess.I buy Wilson footballs because they are the only option for an American-made official leather game ball. Step it up, Wilson. Do better.

TDJ deformation
6 March 2024

HelloI have just received my two footballs from my order and I was surprised to notice that one end of the TDJ was deformed. I think it might have been damaged in transit. I own several Wilson balls ( Omega , TDJ and many TDY) and this is the first time I have seen such a problem. I must admit that this deformation seems to affect the trajectory when throwing. I'm sharing some photos to validate and I'd like to know what could be done to remedy the situation?

never buy Nike again
