At just under 11 ounces, the 97L swings fast, making it easier for less advanced players to load the ball with pace and spin. Boasting a 315 RDC swingweight, this stick plays with above average stability for its weight class. As a result, it does better than many of its competitors at absorbing and redirecting higher levels of pace. From the baseline, the 97L rewards full swings with an impressive combination of power and accuracy. The accuracy comes in part from the open 16x19 string pattern, which supplies the needed bite for bringing the ball down with spin. At net, the Pro Staff 97L offers quick handling, with decent touch for hitting droppers. The mobile weight comes in handy on service returns where the 97L whips around fast to deliver accurate targeting. Ultimately, Wilson has created a speedy and precise weapon for intermediates. With its controllable power and crisp precision, this is a great option for those who want the performance of a player's racquet without the bulk.
