The new 2024 Wilson Staff golf balls are outstanding! I bought 3 dozen of the 2023 Wilson Staff balls last year, and still have 3 sleeves left. I tried hard to kick them out of the bag. Kept going back to my usual Pro V1 or Pro V1x, Some Callaways, etc, but Wilson kept coming back and getting the best scores.NOW I have the new 2024 Wilson Staff, and for me, they are even better.Just played 7 rounds in cold and windy March-April New Jersey weather, all rounds in the 70’s as a 7 handicap player, over 50 years old, with a 100-105 driver speed. 250-ish driver distance.I find them to have a little less spin off the driver, which keeps the ball in play. That’s the most important.A little softer for putting than the previous model, yet they don’t “jump or bounce” ... MoreThe new 2024 Wilson Staff golf balls are outstanding! They go just as far as last year’s Staff model, same tight dispersion, and thank you Wilson for finally aligning the “Wilson” logo evenly on both sides this time so the words roll end over end on putts. That’s my alignment.Same spin for chipping, which I really like. I can go at the pin and know it will check up.My Wilson D9 Forged irons love to hit the new 2024 Staff golf balls.(Only Wilson complaint for me is that they don’t have a Minnesota Vikings carry bag on their website to complete my gear, but that’s a different story)

I have been a competitive golfer for going on 30-years and for 29 of those years only played with Titleist products. From the Balata 100 to the Pro-V1- I have hit them all recreationally and competitively, and while always an outstanding product, I think I have found a ball that will take them out of my bag for awhile. The Wilson Staff has everything I look for in a ball, it has the right flight (mid-high mid), has the right RPM's for delivering consistency off the tee and around the green but the selling point for me (and why I think it is the ball for me) is the danged consistency 100-yds and in. This ball stops where I need it to stop, provides the right amount of control out of a green-side bunker and/or a delicate flop, and the feel coming off the putter face ... MoreI have been a competitive golfer for going on 30-years and for 29 of those years only played with Titleist products. I have played the Pro V1x for the better part of 10 years. I wanted to try something different and I landed on this ball. The great thing about this ball is that it has the feel of a Pro V1x with the characteristics of a Pro V1, you get the lower/mid flight on the irons. However, you get the distance of a Pro V1x. Absolutely amazing!

I bought these on the buy two get one free promotion. I swing my driver at 100 mph and these ball felt great at impact. I suspect the compression of the X model would be too much for me. But for golfers with average swing speeds these balls perform as well as other balls at any price. Clearly a tour level ball and a great value as well. I'll be playing this ball for the foreseeable future. Also enjoyed the feel of this ball around the green and when putting. Nothing but positives.
I switched to yellow Staff Model balls from yellow Pro V1 balls and the biggest thing I've noticed is that the Staffs aren't as durable as the Pro V1's. After about 9 holes I've noticed that the yellow paint on the Staffs starts to chip. This has never happened to me with any other yellow balls. I've also played yellow Srixon balls and they don't chip either. The yellow color seems to be simply painted on the Staffs whereas it looks like it is infused into the cover on other balls. Other than this complaint the balls perform great. Lots of distance and stops great on the green.
I tried the Wilson Triad last year but didn't suit me. Ran a new Ballnamic fitting this year after all the new releases and the new Staff Model came up very high in my top 3. First round I played it on the back nine and averaged almost 15 yards longer off the tee than my front nine ball (Chrome Tour, great ball also). This may be the fastest tour ball I have ever played. Shocking long off the tee for my swing. Good everywhere else for spin and control. Soft enough, though I would "prefer" softer. Can get cut up on full wedges and bouncing off of trees, etc, but I'll forgive it that because it is unreal off my driver.
I have been testing golf balls for the last three years based on feel and personal preferences. I happened on an independent test of 2023 golf balls with Iron Byron. The Triad was the most accurate and the Staff Model the second most accurate with the highest ball speed. I noticed about 1/2 club difference in my irons and it seemed 10 to 15 yards off the driver with the Staff Model.I like a softer feel from a ball around and on the greens and good spin rate. This ball meets this criteria. It also has the best durability of any tour ball I’ve played. I would have never known about this ball without this independent testing review. For a tour ball, the affordability is awesome as well. I think Wilson should advertise the accuracy and ball speed difference around ... MoreI have been testing golf balls for the last three years based on feel and personal preferences. I’ve played numerous “tour” balls because I love to experiment from time to time. The Bridgestone BRXS and Z Star are my favorites hands down, however I seen a review on this ball and it got me curious. First day I went out with it, played like crap however it was my first day in weeks of playing so I went back out this morning. WOW. This ball ROCKETS off the face of the club, like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s a firm ball however, I had to check and see if I was playing a 80 compression ball it felt soft (in a good way!)I was hitting 7-10 yards further on my drives, and my iron play this ball would go. I absolutely love putting with it, it’s so true to roll it’s insane. Chipping feels incredible however I thought it would have more check up, but my chipping isn’t ... MoreI’ve played numerous “tour” balls because I love to experiment from time to time. I think for $49.99 it’s a good price. If Wilson priced these down even to $44.99 or offered bundle deals, it’d be my permanent gamer.Don’t sleep on Wilson, it’s a great ball. It’s definitely one of my top choices.
Have been using Taylormade TP5x and ProV1x and saw these come up on a recent Youtube video with positive views. They were on special for 2 x boxes so I thought I’d give them a try. I have found them to be very good and comparable to both the other balls mentioned. I would definitely buy them again. They seem very durable and spin very well around the green and on pitch shots.
I decided to try these having played with the Wilson Triad ball since they came out (replacing the professional which I also used). Personally I found the Staff model felt harder off the club face and particularly off the putter, harsher sound. Good cover resilience. Spin probably the same as the Triad from my experience.Maybe they are better suited for higher swing speed players. I play of 11 and think I'll go back to the Triad ball
