Wingspan - Asia Expansion

Bought this as a Christmas present for ourselves. Love that you can just play it as a standalone Duet game. Also loved being able to play with six players(with base game and other expansions), chaotic but so much fun. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous expansion to one of the most clever strategy games I've run across. People who normally would hate strategy games will always play this with us. We've mixed this expansion into the original game and it provides such a beautiful mix of birds, so you rarely run across the same one twice in playing twice.

A Good Standalone Game and Intro to Wingspan

This is a must-have if you play Wingspan with 2 players very often. If you have any interest in the game, you could start with this version and buy the core game a later date. Wingspan is not the most perfect engine builder, but I my non-gamer friends enjoy it a lot!

Awesome game expansion

This game is unique and awesome. It's an interesting concept and great fun for the whole family. There are some cool mechanics included in the Asia expansion that make it even better

Fun for Couples!

I've been lucky enough to play the base game of Wingspan with some friends a smattering of times over the past few years and have always enjoyed it. It's been on my list to buy, but it was hard to justify when my kids aren't old enough to play games like this yet and I don't have a consistent game group. Wingspan: Asia changed that by introducing Duet mode. My wife and I broke it open to play our first round and I think it's going to become a regular on our table when we're in the mood for a beautiful engine builder. More cards, more to love

The new additions are quite different so threw us a little. But I love all the help each other cards, and playing 2 is our favorite way. So I love having the two sides board and a simple box. New egg color... thumbs up. We found the new end round goal experience to be not our favorite so far, but its an interesting twist.

Our First Wingspan Expansion

Along with that, the bird cards seemed interesting and there were blue and yellow abilities as well!We haven't had the opportunity to play the flock variant yet, but we look forward to it! The main gist is there are two game boards set up with 2 people simultaneously playing at the same time from those different game boards. Pink powers become quite powerful because more people are participating, but you can't activate them with the player you're sharing a turn with.The duet version has been a fun addition because it adds another way of scoring points, adds a variety of new goals, and has the potential to grant a bonus for playing a bird.My wife and I started by playing with just the Asia birds for the first 6 games to get a feel of how to use the new abilities, trying to get exposed to the new goals, the change in strategy and playing style, and rules for each interaction. We enjoyed the games but were concerned that combining the 90 birds with the base game might make the Asia birds too powerful, and they would always be chosen over the original birds. We have since played 8 games with the combined deck and are happy to report that just like a good dinner, the Asia birds added enough spice to make the game more exciting, but we don't feel the birds are so overwhelming that they're the only ones played or that's all you can taste. Each decision is weighed upon for the best strategy, and sometimes if you can score points in three different ways with an original bird compared to one way with the Asia bird, then you'll still choose the base game bird!If you enjoy Wingspan, I'm sure you'll enjoy adding the Asian expansion to your collection!

Two-Player Mode

The two-player mode is cool, but it's not as cool as I'd hoped. They should have included more end of round goals, maybe? Ultimately this is some cards, a two-player mode, and 6-7, which I'll never use for a healthy price tag. I'm glad I have it, but Wingspan for two was fine as it was. Unless you have to complete it, have to play with more, it think the 2p looks amazing you could skip this.

Wingspan: Asia

My primary objective was to gather more of the beautiful Wingspan birds to include in my game, but this expansion also includes a standalone 1-2 player game, as well as the expanded ability to play with 6-7 players in the typical Wingspan game—woah, still debating whether to try that. :) Another lovely edition in the Wingspan line regardles.

more stuff, duet mode is great

i was hesitant to get this expansion, because i thought i was only going to use the cards, and it seemed expensive if all i was going to use are cards. but the duet mode is a great 2-player variant, and i play a fair amount of 2-player wingspan. haven't tried flock mode yet...i doubt i will, but you never know.
