After reading the reviews I just needed to state a couple of FACTS about this product: 1) It is NOT ment to be a chew toy; it is a toy you use to play WITH your dog. NO, do not throw the ball but ROLL it on the ground/floor, as if u were bowling. If you're dog is trained to fetch, they will have fun trying to figure out how to 'grab' it & return it to u.2) PER THE INSTRUCTIONS, contained in the box, when you bring the toy out of the box act EXCITED about it !! dogs are not humans their animals; they follow your lead ... They react to your emotion. With that said I have a 65 pound lab/boxer mix, heavy duty chewer, & she loves it when we play with this ball.Hope this helps your decision to buy or not to buy ......

I have two golden retrievers with very different personalities. They are both loving and sweet, as golden retrievers generally are. But my male is a real snuggler and very gentle. My female is like a bird dog/hunting dog. She has caught and brought home oppossums, a bird, and a rat so far. My gentle sweet loving male is somewhat frightened by this ball. (I bought two at Christmas - one for each dog.). My male dog has zero interest in this ball. But I feel compelled to give this toy a 5 star rating because my female huntress dog absolutely ADORES this toy. It is her all time favorite toy. She treats it like a security blanket. She likes to sleep with it at night and lay with it during the day. She never chews it, which is interesting because she is a big chewer and this is the first toy that she has not destroyed yet. (She's had it for over 7 months already and we never take it away from her.). She chews giant rope toys apart and she chews rawhide bones to pieces. But she just likes to snuggle this ball and carry it around in her mouth and lay with it close to her head. She treats it like the animals that she catches. She likes to carry them in her mouth and lay with them close to her head. But she has never drawn blood from any animal that she has ever caught. (I say caught, not killed, because she is genlte and likes to carry these animals around, not eat them.). So I suspect that in her mind, this ball fulfills a retriever instinct for her. Retrievers are bred to carry animals back to the hunter undamaged. And she treats this ball that way.I hoped that both of my dogs would chase this around the house to increase their exercise. But neither of them does that with it. My male isn't interested in it. My female absolutely adores it and just snuggles it and carries it around. But since she loves this ball like nothing I've ever seen, I couldn't rate it high enough to see it give her so much joy.

Dog instantly LOVED this ball!! But he did manage to get some big teeth marks into it...so we cannot leave him to play with it unsupervised as he might eat some of it OR destroy it too quickly. This is kind of a bummer...I bought this for my dog because some one I know has it for their German Sheperd..and she also LOVES to play with it. She's had it for awhile and there are no teeth marks in it and it has lasted...so I figured if it could stand up to a G.Shep then it would also last for my Lab mix! WRONG!! Its a FUN and SUPER TOY but it truly does depend on the dog...my dog obviously is a real strong chewer! I have no regrets in buying this AWESOMELY FUN ball and my dog can't get enough of it! BUT word of caution...observe your dog with it before deciding if safe to ... MoreDog instantly LOVED this ball!! This is the most hilarious toy that I have ever purchased for my dog! He is a very destructive and powerful chewer (the most heavy duty toys are no match for him), so I have only let him play with this supervised, then it gets put away. But so far, he hasn't really even tried to chew on it - which is crazy for him! Usually he gets a new toy and instantly tries to tear it to shreds (so Amazon has been a wallet saver vs the pet stores!!).When this first arrived, I put it on the ground and gave it a kick, and it made some weird noises. My dog gave it a weird look, and looked at me. I told him to go get it, and he ran over and gave it a swat with his paw. It made some more weird noises, which made him jump in the air like a cat - not scared, but excited! He quickly ... MoreThis is the most hilarious toy that I have ever purchased for my dog! It made some more weird noises, which made him jump in the air like a cat - not scared, but excited! He quickly put together that when he hit the ball, it made noise, and he was playing away like a little puppy (he is 5)! He chases it, pounces on it, bats it around, grabs it and tosses it in the air, rolls it down the stairs, it's a hoot! This is a great inside winter toy! Definitely will be getting more toys of this style!!
It's been five days! She loves it! My dog went suddenly blind about 2 months ago (SARDS) and has been delressed, anxious, and inactive for the most part since then. Her favorite activity previously was her tennis ball, and she was the best at fetch! (That thing was better than a leash). I didn't think I'd find anything similar in catching and sustaining her attention.
I bought this ball for my Shih Tzu about a year ago. It is the absolute best toy I have ever bought for her. (she is six years old.) We had to show it to her and push it around for the first day or so, but once she caught on there was no stopping her. She spins it, plays “soccer“ with it, rolls it up under her In an effort to play keep away from me, and chases is it all around the room. She will go on for 15 to 20 minutes if I stay with her. She does want an audience.I read that some people have had trouble with their dogs biting the ball. It seems that they are all large dogs. I think it’s perfect for a small or middle size dog. As long as they can’t get their mouth around it. It seems that it would be a good idea for the company to make a larger ball for large ... MoreI bought this ball for my Shih Tzu about a year ago. As for the one I have, we absolutely love it and if anything happened to it today I would run out tomorrow and buy a brand new one. Nothing makes her happier except when daddy comes home from work. 😊
Ok. I have a full bred American Bulldog and he can destroy most toys in a matter of minutes. I’ve never seen anything like it. I subscribe to a monthly toy service for aggressive chewers and half the time get the toys replaced for free because he still destroys them in a day. I have now purchased four of these balls (I have another large dog but not an aggressive chewer). I got them each one from meijer last Christmas and they have lasted an entire year and have provided much entertainment for my dogs. They love these! They are made of hard plastic that has held up to a year of chewing. I just bought them new ones this year for Christmas when I found them on amazon. When the ball rolls it squeaks. it’s like watching my dogs play soccer - hilarious.
Our dog loves his giggle ball... but he does chew on them so we replace them about twice a year. We bought the Glow-in-the-dark one, because we thought it would be fun. It has never glowed like it is supposed to... maybe if it had been exposed to direct sunlight out of doors... who knows. The Glow-in-the-dark version was $8-$10 more in cost and was not worth it. We will just buy the green ones from now on.
Bought it for my Nate doggie, but he is scared to death of it cause it makes loud unusual noises. My little dog Toby has taken a like to it. The one thing I thought it was, was soft, it is not. It is very hard. Little dogs cant put it in their mouths and carry it around. If your dogs like noisy interactive toys, this is for them.
