Donrsquot limit yourself to the road or trailsmdashchoose both in the Altra Outroad. The Altra Outroad is the perfect hybrid road-to-trail shoe. Based off of the Altra Rivera, this shoe has the same Altra EGOtrade midsole for a responsive, yet cushioned ride and is built on Altrarsquos slim fit last, which fits narrower than other Altra shoes yet still has the rounded FootShaped trade toe box. Take on those gravel roads and single track trails, the MaxTractrade outsole and multi-direction lug pattern are perfect to handle trail conditions but wonrsquot feel cumbersome while on the road. A light and thin upper in the front allows for breathability, while it is a bit more protective and cushioned in the heel to give you a secure, lockdown feel. Plus, it has a reinforced toe to protect against rocks and branches. The Outroad is less bulky than other trail shoes to give you the familiar step-in feel of road shoes. The Altra Outroad lets you run wherever the road takes you. Read more in our Altra Outroad review or watch our video below.

The Altra Running Women's Outroad are an amazing unique type of running shoe & I love them so much! Firstly they are way too cool looking! The features that I really love that no other running shoe seems to have is the signature slim foot shape fit that gives a nice comfortable & snug fit. It's different in where my feet have space to sit naturally. My feet have never felt more comfortable in a running shoe until now & I get way better alignment & running form with these shoes! Goodbye to no more tired & blistered feet! One of the best features is that I can use them on roads & even trails when I want an adventure! These trail shoes are superb! I got my true size, and they fit like an absolute glove. The gray color of the shoe is pretty and I love the pop of pink in the shoelace, very pleasing to the eye. These shoes hold and protect my foot, but are very breathable. I overpronate, so I was surprised to know these shoes helped me with that and added decent arch support (I have little arch). These felt so good to walk and jog in on pavement and on my local trail. The grooves along the sides and sole help keep the shoe and foot balanced on any terrain. I'm so surprised and impressed with these shoes and will continue using them. I highly recommend the Altra brand and this particular shoe, as they are high quality and so good for the joints. Go grab a pair!!

The heel on both shoes is wearing away significantly (chunks of fabric have been coming out). The outer top part by the laces is wearing away. A hole is starting to form on the top of the right shoe. I'm disappointed since I've only had them for 6 months and I've really babied them. I've had shoes for years that never fall apart like these have. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, but that doesn't really matter if they only last 6 months! Unfortunately these were the first Altra shoes I've ever purchased and probably my last after my experience with these. So disappointed, I definitely wouldn't recommend them.

This seems like a well-made shoe, and it was comfortable right out of the box. My feet were sore after walking only a mile in it, though. Most of the issues I had with it fitwise are related to my weird feet (I did have to go from a 10 to a 10.5, I have a 26 cm foot), but the toebox might be a little narrow even for narrower feet-it felt fine, but I developed a blister. Also, the backs of the shoes are cut so low that when I put my Superfeet inserts in, they lifted me too high and my heels slipped. If I were keeping the shoes I would have to get longer laces for a good heel lock and more room at the tops of my feet. I have very high arches and narrow heels, these might not be issues for people with normal feet. Also they were very slippy on wet mossy sidewalks. ... My first impression of these are that they were pretty, and looked very sturdy & durable. I noticed that the toe box was wider than my normal running shoe, and that there was an upward slope at the back of the heels bottom. When putting them in I noticed they definitely run smaller than my other running shoes. I'm typically between a 9.5 and a 10, so I thought a 10 would be perfect. The 10 fits, but there's very little room between the end of my foot and the shoe. The size doesn't bother me, but I think a 10.5 would have been the ideal size for me. They felt hard and hurt my feet the first day I wore them, but when I put them on the next day I was surprised to find that they felt great. I absolutely love that my toes can spread out comfortably in the wide toe box . I've worn them running both outdoors and indoors, walking some trails in the woods, and for every day wear. I feel they performed great on all terrains. I'm very pleased with these shoes and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good, supportive, and comfortable running shoe.
I received these shoes in the hopes that I could use them in the HIIT classes I teach. I have worn another brand of running shoes for years so I was hesitant to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. Right away upon opening, I noticed they seemed wider and almost shaped like a boxy foot. But the overall look of them was appealing, the colors were fun and current. I tried them on and was instantly surprised, these felt fabulous! The cushioning was something I hadn't experienced with other running/workout shoes, and the tread on the bottom wasn't the usual either. I went the following day to teach a class and these shoes did great on a slick floor. My feet felt secure and comfortable jumping and moving laterally.Overall, these are my new workout shoes ... I did feel that my true size felt a little small and would recommend going up a half size, but otherwise, these shoes are designed to go everywhere.
These are by far my favorite shoes but I replaced the laces immediately to a dark grey/blue. I feel comfortable and capable at work and on the mountain in these trail shoes. I've worn them for a year now and they still look brand new. Great for wide feet, and have perfect cush support. Made for those of us who dont enjoy our feet crammed in the toe from sliding forward. Excellent tread, better than any of my hiking boots. I love these cuties.
I love these shoes SO much (: I normally never do reviews, but these deserve one! I recently decided to start running and researched & researched for a quality shoe. These were on sale during Labor Day and I decided to give them a try. I was wary of them at first as it was noted that they "run small" and almost returned them as they did feel a bit snug at first. After a few test runs (treadmill & local trail), I fell in love. These are so incredibly comfortable I never want to take them off. As a beginner runner, I am having to be conscious of how I strike my foot in these as there isn't a whole lot of support on the inside of my foot. But, overall, I definitely recommend these! They have easily become my favorite shoe (running and not).
I'm a 53 year old woman and have run 6 road or gravel marathons in 4 years with TIMPs. Most of my training is on dirt and gravel. I wanted to try these for my seventh road race (Eugene Marathon...go Ducks!) so I used them for about 10% of the last portion of my training.Sure they felt a little more snug especially with my toe socks. And honestly on race day I wasn't sure if they were the right choice. But the day after my race, it took me a while before I realized my feet didn't hurt AT ALL! This is unlike every other race even with cushy TIMPs! It was quite a revelation especially considering they have less cushioning.I only have about 150 miles on them so can't speak about durability but I did test them on gravel and asphalt and so far so good. I like the narrower box which fits my heel and mid-foot better than the original shape. However, l loved the Lone Peak and would prefer to see LP in this width, long enough and with less padding. (Not sure if I would need 13 or 12.5). gonna try a few men's sizes in this to see if I like it. Overall, I'm disappointed in the options that I now have from Altra. I used to wear an 11.5 in the Lone Peak 6. The 12 was too short for me in this shoe. I use the shoe for walking and hiking in multiple terrains.
