Woolworths Aussie Natural Almonds 6 Pack

Packed in Turkey. I picked up this 6 pack of Aussie Natural Almonds and they were priced at $4. After removing the outer plastic that seals the 6 packs I found the individual boxes were not sealed and exposed to air which is fine if you are going to eat or use all six boxes immediately. However, it does recommend on the box to store them in an airtight container once opened which is a bit inconvenient. Especially if you want to leave a few packs around like in your bag for emergency snacks. I think it would be better to seal all packets individually or rethink the packaging in small bags. Whilst I love natural almonds I think these were not as crunchy as they should be. Easy great healthy snack. Tasty, fresh and very healthy. Had a great crunch which showed they were nice and fresh with a really good flavor, considering they were natural. I did expect them to taste quite bland as they were natural but they had a nice mild flavor that I very much enjoyed. Usually I purchase a large packet size, however I really liked the individual boxes as they were easy to take to work. It beat having to divide them into your own containers for each family member as very easy to grab and go. I found the boxes to be very good as I have a habit of eating too many and not feeling well, so the boxes made sure I did not over indulge, so this was an added bonus for me. Yes it is much cheaper to buy your own bigger packs like I usually do but for my husband its about portion control as he turns a good snack into a bad one by eating way too many. These almonds had a used by date fo 15/9/2022 and my pack contained almost 30 almonds and they all looked perfect, not bad for a 30g serving size. I found by the time I had finished the box though, I'd had enough of them. I think they may need to be mixed in with some other nuts and fruit, which is what I did for the remaining boxes. So much unnecessary packaging. I received these as a sample, wouldn't get them otherwise. I'm not a big fan of almonds, I find most other nuts tastier and from an environmental standpoint almonds are terrible due to the amount of water and pesticides required to grow them. As much as I love to support Australian grown, we are a drought stricken country for the most part, yet so much water is used to grow these. I'm presuming they must be grown in QLD or something that actually gets reasonable rain compared to the rest of the country, so hoping it's not taking water from already struggling areas. I also would never buy single serve pre-portioned packs. These Aussie Natural almonds are crunchy, taste fresh and apart from that there’s not much else to say. As they are supposed to be 100% natural almonds, they haven’t been roasted, they don’t have any additional flavouring or salt added to them and therefore taste exactly how almonds should taste 6 mini boxes filled with 30g of nuts each, each box equates to a generous handful. First of all I noticed the price is fabulous and much cheaper per kilo when compared to a packet of Almonds which I've purchased before to use in my cooking. This snack pack is $16-67 per kilo as opposed to $17-11 with a packet. With a total of 180 grams this suits me better in particular with my cooking needs as it means less to store when compared to the larger packets so it stays fresher for longer. These mini packs remind me of the little packs of sultanas I had in primary school so I think most kids would like to have one in their lunch box too. This sample is a good concept, 30 grams per individual packet, ideal for a snack or lunch boxes (where permitted). She retained the individual packets for future refilling and use. Turkey is also a large grower of almonds so there is no guarantee the packaged almonds are all Australian product. I doubt there is a separate production line by Country of Origin. Not important to some but it is for us. The almonds when eaten were ok, a lot of nuts were quite soft and tasted stale. There were plenty of whole almonds, still in their skin. The almond skin is high in antioxidants. Overall, useful for those who are time poor or prefer individual packets for a quick transportable snack pack. I would not buy these as I do not purchase Australian grown food that has more travel time than we do.

As my children’s school is nut free, this product wasn’t able to be sent in their lunchboxes which made the convenient six pack kind of redundant.
