This Sausage Roll is not for me. I really could not decide if to give this 1 star or 2 stars - I think it falls at 1. 5 stars but that is not an option. It is definitely not a repurchase for me. Starting with the benefits and good parts. Made in Australia from at least 80% Australian ingredients and does claim to use Aussie Beef. I think that does deserve 1 star. And the other 1/2 star comes from the convenience of microwaving in just 1 minute 40 seconds. It would be great if you have kids and husbands who need to be fed in a hurry and they may not be so concerned with the pastry and flavours. But that is where the good parts finish I am afraid. The pastry was definitely soggy when I started to consume after the mandatory 2 mins standing time.. I was hoping for ... MoreThis Sausage Roll is not for me. The pastry was definitely soggy when I started to consume after the mandatory 2 mins standing time.. I was hoping for something a little more like crispy flaky pastry as I have tried another brand which while not perfect was far better than this one. The flavour was very bland and the consistency was just like a stodgy mass - not at all pleasant. Now I don't usually add sauce to my sausage rolls but I thought maybe a good glug of homemade tomato sauce (which is slightly spicy) would help with the flavour. Which it did - it covered up that bland taste at least to enable me to finish it. While I am on flavour I tried to read the list of ingredients on the packet. There must have been about 50 listings there - I am only guessing as I did not count them. One would think with that size list of ingredients at least some of them should have added some flavour. The film is not able to be recycled and is only to be binned. Thought at least this may be able to be returned to store like a lot of films but not the case. All in all a fail from me. Thank you Bunch for the opportunity to try this product but I can say now it will not be going home with me again in my trolley. Thank you all so much for reading my review. Have a wonderful afternoon.

As Bad As Expected. After recently receiving some really delicious samples of late, when I received notification of this sample, I knew it was going to be a struggle to stay positive. As far as I am concerned, microwave sausage rolls mean only one thing - late night desperate need for food when nothing else is open, aged in my early 20's - resulting in pulling into a servo - something, thankfully I have not done in a very, very long time!!!But just in case things had changed in all those years, I "simply popped in the microwave for 1 min 40 sec" as the wrapper suggested, and let it cool for 2 minutes after that. Now, that's where the wrapper lost the plot - it said "enjoy"! Sadly, that would is so far from the truth. Stodgy is the first word that came to mind. ... MoreAs Bad As Expected. As for the nutritional information - 1960kJ and a huge 868mg of sodium, it just gets worse. Priced at $2. 20, even if they were free, I would not take advantage of them ever again. Sorry Bunch, but this is definitely not one for me

Good Size but Something Missing. I found this product easily in store in the frozen food section. One individual sausage roll weighing in at 175g in a plastic wrap. It was a nice big size and it had very easy to following heating instructions. Just microwave for 1 minute 40 seconds in the wrapper, open and it's ready to eat. Very quick and convenient. Made from 80% Australian ingredients. One of the first things I noticed about this sausage roll was that as it was heating up, there was no nice, yummy sausage roll smell. Upon tasting, I thought that it was a bit stodgy and lacking in flavour. I have had Mrs Mac's sausage rolls before, which are exactly the same sort of thing .... BUT they taste soooo much better. I'm sorry Woolies, but your sausage rolls need improvement in the taste department. They need more flavour and the pastry should be more brown, crisp and flaky. These should also be much cheaper than Mrs Macs. For a few extra cents I would definitely be buying Mrs Macs and not these. Sorry. Thanks anyway for the sample Bunch Team, but some more work is needed.

Average. I cooked this sausage roll in the microwave to heat it and followed it up with a few minutes in the air fryer to crispen the pastry. This was very effective. The pastry was crunchy and flaky and the filling was hot. Hubby and I shared half each with some ketchup. The filling wasnât anything exciting but it wasnât unpleasant either. We enjoyed the novelty of a quick sausage roll snack. I was very surprised to read that the beef filling content was only 21%. The remaining ingredient list is so long itâs more like reading a piece of legislation than a food product. The local Aussie content is at least 80%. This is a high fat, high carb product with a 2 star health rating. You would be better off making your own sausage rolls and freezing them. For this reason I would not purchase this product but I did appreciate the opportunity to try it.
Left disappointed. I love sausage rolls! Come on they are great! Golden brown, flakey pastry, nice and seasoned meat inside, yummy well that's what I was hoping for when I was going to cook my sausage roll. Now being cooked in the microwave is a touchy subject, cause if you want them crispy you need to take it out of the plastic wrap and wrap it in some paper towel, so this one baffled me a bit but hey what do I know?So this was easy to find in the freezer section, $2. 20. So here goes nothing, popped it into the microwave for 1minute and 40 seconds, I have over 1000w microwave, then I let it rest for two minutes. At this point I was waiting for the wonderful aromas to come flooding out but there was none? Two minutes was up and I opened up the pack, and all I get ... MoreLeft disappointed. Disappointment has really set in and I haven't even had a bite yet?So I go to cut it to give Mr M, a try after all why should I be the only one suffering, haha and it is still raw the pastry hasn't even cooked through? Before I could even say anything Mr M, has popped a piece into his mouth and said ah this doesn't taste right at all? My reply besides a few choice words on here that I can't mention was that's because it's still raw??? So I popped it into the air fryer for a few minutes and got a better cooked result! At least the pastry was cooked. This was not a very nice tasting sausage roll at all, it is lacking flavour it has no texture inside it I said just all mushy and gross, and as for the pastry well the instructions say product must be fully cooked before eating? Well perhaps you may want to add an extra 2-3 minutes on your cooking time just to be safe. Because if you only go by the pack and want this for a quick grab and go snack then you are definitely in trouble. This is a 2 star âď¸ HSR ? I can't see how they can give it that???This has 470 CalProtein. 15. 2 gFat. Total 23. 1g-Saturated 12. 1g-trans. <0. 1gCarbohydrates 50. 1g-Sugars 1. 1 gSodium 868 mg So tell me how this gets 2 stars âď¸ This is made up of 80 % Australian Ingredients. Thank you Bunch for giving me this wonderful opportunity to try this sample. Thank you to all my fellow Bunchee's for taking the time to look at my review, and please remember that this is just my opinion! And I hope you have a wonderful day.
Quick satisfying snack. Found easily in freezer snack section. Microwaved on high for 1 minute and 40 seconds as the package suggested. Served with tomato sauce. Good amount of meat filling and tasted nice but the texture of pastry wasnât flaky, rather soggy and kind of dense when I cut it. I shared this with my family and we agreed that it tasted good but we would prefer cook in the oven to have a nice crusty texture. Affordable priced at $ 2. 20 as itâs quite satisfying and suitable for sharing. Though made in Australia at least 80% Australian ingredients without artificial colours or flavours, I wasnât impressed by the long list of ingredients and many fillers as well as margarine which contains palm oil. Just average. I have to admit to not being that excited about trying this product after reading many of the reviews. I would not normally purchase a microwave sausage roll. I decided to follow the instructions and heat it in the microwave and I really was going to try it just like that, but it looked so sad and soft that I just had to put it in the airfryer. I am so glad that I did. Five minutes and it had a golden colour and flaky pastry. I cut the sausage roll into quarters so that I could see the texture of the filling. It looked a little dry but I found that it really wasnât. It could have used a little more flavour, but I have had worse from a bakery and paid a whole lot more. One of the biggest issues I have with sausage rolls is that they use too much breadcrumb mixture and the filling is dry and tasteless. This filling didnât taste full of breadcrumbs at all. Whilst I am not sure that I am totally convinced and will add this to my regular shop, I would perhaps but it occasional for a weekend lunch, as long as I could finish it off in the air fryer.
Just wrong on every count. Before writing this review I have to confess that I am a self-proclaimed sausage roll aficionado and judge all sausage rolls by the Bourke St bakery sausage rolls (awesome and very famous Sydney institution). If I go somewhere I will try every sausage roll in the town from bakeries, before proclaiming my favourite and writing google or TripAdvisor reviews on every single one, I make my own from pork or beef (never sausage mince) and would not be seen dead buying a sausage roll wrapped in plastic from a service station or cafe. I would also NEVER heat something made from pastry in the microwave. I really don't mind paying $6 or $7 for a really good sausage roll, I resent paying $2 for a really bad one. So when I saw Bunch had given me this as a sample I absolutely did think it was a joke. I had to sneak under cover in disguise to go buy it and then hide it from my husband before reheating as per instructions and then tasting before throwing in the bin. Unfortunately it met all expectations, the pastry was doughy and soggy, and the mush inside tasted like something you would not feed your pets. Tomato sauce (homemade of course) did not make it any more palatable. I definitely would not have bought it before tasting it, and would definitely not buy it now under any circumstances. If anyone I knew even suggested buying something like that, I would go out and make them a batch of decent sausage rolls, rather than have one of my friends subject themselves to such horrors.
Grandson Approved! Our grandson loves sausage rolls, so I was interested in getting his feedback on this version. The sausage roll was easy to find in the freezer with other similar products. At $2. 20 for the 175 gram roll I thought it was reasonably priced for the convenience. I heated the sausage roll in the microwave - the instructions are for a 1000W microwave and ours is 1200W, so I deducted a few seconds from the cooking time. The sausage roll is left standing for 2 minutes and is then ready to eat. The sausage roll pastry was pretty good - not soggy, but light and flaky. The texture of the meat was quite soft, not hard like some others, and it held together well. It had no more or less flavour than a 'normal' sausage roll, so was comparable in my opinion. Not for me. I didnât have any problem finding this product in the freezer section. The packaging was very easy to spot and the product looked good. This product is $2. 20 so a very inexpensive quick snack for those who like it. I donât like sausage rolls so my husband was happy to eat the majority of this.
