Not what I remembered. We used to buy these years ago to make up our own muesli when I was a kid, dried apples, pears, apricots, sultanas and as-sorted nuts were some of the ingredients used. Plus the banana chips, growing up on a farm all these items fascinated me, as the only dried up fruit I'd ever seen where the one's that fell from the tree and shriveled away. The banana chips were the one's I used to do a few sneaky snacks on. Was very happy to be given this sample and also the 400g bag as well. What a massive let down this was, nothing like I remembered at all. On opening the bag and tipping out a small amount I thought they looked a bit shiny, no real smell at all. Mr B and I started snacking on them, I was not a happy Bee. Very hard, just way to hard. I ... MoreNot what I remembered. Mr B and I started snacking on them, I was not a happy Bee. Very hard, just way to hard. I could have forgiven the hardness if the taste was there. But it just wasn't, I was left with a sort of furry taste in my mouth. Mr 8 didn't enjoy these either, which was a good thing. I seriously think these could damage some peoples teeth. Made in the Philippines and packed in Australia. Packaging is to be binned. Loaded with sugar, that's where the shiny look comes from. The caramelized sugar on top, each 100g = 524 calories right. Now I left this bag sitting on the bench deciding what to do, noticed other Bunchees had softened them and used in baking. The next time I looked at the bag it was empty, Mr B had snacked on the lot. "You know you just consumed over 1500 calories" He just didn't think and just plowed threw them. Never mind, unfortunately for me I still have the 400g bag to review. Will I buy again, no way, no how. Not even if George of the Jungle asked me to. But thanks Woolies for the sample, this needs a major overhaul in my opinion.

Nice but SO unhealthy. With this type of item as well as nuts and other dried fruit and snack items there seems to be multiple locations in store where one finds them. Fresh produce, macro in health food aisle, aisles with nuts, dried fruit, baking nuts etc. It would be great to have a products together. Why have banana chips in fresh fruit and veg area plus in another aisle? Why so many versions of the same product type?Anyway, when I finally found these on the bottom shelf near dried fruit, I was eager to try them. I love dehydrated product as sweetness and flavour are usually I intensified. I have had banana chips before and quite like them. They are moorish and provided they aren't so hard to break teeth, I enjoy crunching on them. These were crisp but not too hard, sweet but not too sweet, and had a slight banana flavour, probably due to the natural banana flavour added rather than the flavour of the banana itself. The pack size of 300g is a good size and $3 an ok price. Some were harder than others to bite, but overall fairly consistent in hardness, colour and size of the chips. But why, despite liking them, do i refrain from buying them? Well, I'd rather feed myself and my family fresh banana as a snack, and if I want a fruity snack, I'd opt for sultanas or dried apricots. If I want a crunchy snack, a handful of nuts or chips cooked in monounsaturated oil, or popcorn. This product is not dried banana. It's fried banana. 30% fat; and because it's coconut oil, over 28% of the product is saturated fat (yes, even vegetable fats can have saturated fat). Plus added sugar. This product, despite being banana, is really quite unhealthy. I may buy it for putting banana chips on top of muffins for decoration, but on the whole, no, not for a snack. Pity it has to be coconut oil, and pity it's sourced from overseas.

Crunchy. I’m a big fan of banana chips and Woolworths ones are just as good as other brands. They are crunchy and tasty and I use them to snack on, on their own, or mix with other dried fruit and nuts. I usually just eat them straight from the pack. Made in the Philippines and packed in Australia. At $3. 00 for 300g is good value. I have bought them previously and will buy again.

Ok if you don't think it's made with banana. I don't normally buy banana chips as i prefer making my own using the dehydrator. Sweetness I don't have a sweet tooth and i find the chips are not too sweet. No overpowering sugary taste Texture Crunchy and I love it! I sprinkle and mix that with chobani plain low fat yoghurt to give it a bit of crunch and sweetness. A very nice add on. Flavour As I said in the summary, if you don't think it's made with banana, it's quite nice. However, if I have to judge it based on what it is (banana chips), then sorry, I can't taste any banana flavour, even though they add banana flavouring in! It's more like plain sugary crunch. You only buy it occasionally and if you really want a banana, go to the fresh fruit aisle and get a real one Recommendation Don't think I will buy it again even though the price is reasonable. Whilst you are bound to have extra sugar and preservative in these process fruit, I'd rather go for a fresh banana as a snack.

Crunchy. We love bananas in our house so was excited to receive this sample just for something new and different. These banana chips were definitely crunchy but i found that they left the mouth feeling dry afterwards and couldn't eat many at one time. Now I've never tried banana chips before so unsure if that is normal or not. I know bananas grow in all sizes but these chips could do with some uniformity, there were some decent size whole round banana slices but most of the packet were half if not quarter a banana slice in size. (I hope that makes sense). I would dearly love to see these made in Australia with Aussie bananas and within a resealable bag would also be fantastic as I'm not sure if anyone could polish this 300g bag off in 1 sitting. Don't get me wrong we will eat them but at this stage i dont really see us purchasing them in the future. They just dont have the banana taste that you get from the real deal. $3 a bag, equates to just $1/100g which I'm guessing is probably a very reasonable price.

Not a great snack. I had not tried banana chips before. The packet suggested "add crunch to your cereal or enjoy as a simple snack". I opted for the latter. The banana pieces were crunchy and to be honest really, really sweet. It wasn't as 'banana' flavoured as I was expecting either. The big downsides for me was that it was a Product from the Philippines, packaged in Australia. As such for that reason I would not buy this again, as I try to only buy Aussie products. Great product. I found these the other day, when looking at dried fruit and nuts. I am making my own 'trail mix' using my choice of ingredients and thought I would give the banana chips a go. I have to say I love these and they add so much flavour to my mix of nuts & fruit, really healthy and a gap filler to keep the tummy rumbles away. ps not a sample, just tried them on a whim and love them!

Amazing snacks. If anyone ever tells you they don't like these Banana Chips please politely slap them and ask them to reconsider. Keep this up until they acknowledge these as one of the best snacks ever. I found these to be great, good sized pack, well baked, not over sugared and just down right delicious. I crumbled them over some cereal as a neat way to mix up breakfast. The kids loved them. They were a great as a snack for our toddler.

Great Product. Ok I did something different with this packet of banana chips and WOW!. Normally I just add them to my oats when cooking so they soften or use them as a topper for plain yogurt with choc chips. So my something different was a little experiment. Banana chip powder for smoothies, yogurt and anything really muffins even cupcakes. All I did was blend the banana chips in 2 batches in my nutri bullet till a powder consistency and it's smells and tastes delicious.
