Craving Buster. Simple, processed white-bread has become a “sometimes food” that does not often make it into the shopping trolley any longer. There as so many and varied bread options that it is also very difficult to just choose a simple ‘white loaf’... However, once or twice a year I might crave an insane snack choice that makes no sense at all to others. This is a pleasant, simple, soft white bread from the Woolies bakery using 95% Aussie ingredients. I really like how it does not coat your kitchen benchtop and plates with bread-crumb “dandruff” that takes forever to clear away (yes, I’m referring to you - TipTop!). At $2 a 680g loaf, it is perfect for a fun sandwich competition at home with fam - just to see who has the weirdest sense of good taste! Here is my once a year comfort-food of a potato-crisp sandwich that today just made the perfect lunch

Good sandwich size sliced white bread. My hubby liked the crusts. There's nothing else to say really. He loves crusts and these passed. It's soft as the name suggests but the thing I really like is the thickness. Last I checked, which tbh was a while ago, Coles have started slicing their own bakery bread thicker but still calling it "sandwich" not "toast". This annoys me (1) because if you make a sandwich and eat two slices you've eaten more than you used to when it was thinner;and (2) you end up buying more with fewer slices per loaf. It's a stealthy price rise combined with a stealthy contribution to the obesity epidemic. So THANK YOU Woolies for not copying this. I would always prefer this loaf over the Coles home bakery equivalent.

A great basic bread that could be used in a variety of ways. Woolworths and Bunch knew my shopping habits well with this one. My son could easily eat a loaf of bread in a day or two if you let him. He thought this bread was fantastic, he loved that it was soft on the inside and had a nice chew on the outside and the crust and that it was deliciously fresh. He ate it on its own, as toast and as french toast and loved all of them. I felt the bread worked well for those things but would be too thick to use for sandwiches. I think it was great value for the price and would be something that I look for and buy again. It was a bit tricky to find in my store as there wasnt clear signage and there were two different sizes. Would I buy it for myself, no as I prefer grain ... MoreA great basic bread that could be used in a variety of ways. Woolworths and Bunch knew my shopping habits well with this one. Not really any softer, but definitely much drier. Wasn't quite sure how 'extra' soft you can get white bread to be, but this loaf I got definitely was not. I looked at all of the loaves available and they all had timestamps marked around 7:30ish am today, which by the time I picked it up at 3:30pm or so, it was still 'day-fresh'. Got home, and had a slice of it since I know if I left it, it'd just get more stale and not be representative. Well, it was very underwhelming. It was incredibly dry, and no softer than any other white bread to be honest. In fact, it was so dry, I had to have water to finish the slice, which, I don't on other breads..... I gave a small piece to my wife, and her comment was, "most people have something on their bread you know", and "this ... MoreNot really any softer, but definitely much drier. Well, it'd probably be good for making big breadcrumb pieces like panko too.... In any case, if you're actually after soft (which, generally comes with moist too), this isn't it.

Soft and Fluffy. Our family hasn't purchased white bread for a very long time. We are now a grain bread family. However, we REALLY enjoyed this loaf. This loaf comes in a few options sandwich and toast sliced. I chose the extra thick slice as my personal preference for sandwiches and toasting. I normally buy thick sliced bread but really enjoyed the extra thick slicing of this particular loaf. The loaf was still warm when I purchased it, so this was a huge tick for me and my car smelt like a bakery as I drove home. The outside crust was crispy and firm and golden in colour. The inside was fluffy with no large air pockets in the bread (there is nothing worse than large holes in a loaf). The consistency was springy and cooked well not doughy or wet. Although white bread is not our families choice for those looking for a quality bread that is affordable and fresh I would whole heartedly recommend this loaf.

Average white loaf. Found this in the bakery section at my local Woolies. Looked like it comes in either sliced or unsliced. The sliced packages were on the thicker side, like toastie size. I chose the sliced for convenience. The bread has a nice soft texture but found the crust was a little chewy. I have purchased this brand before and it actually turned stale and hard somewhat quicker than the branded loaves like mighty soft, tiptop etc - perhaps there is less preservative added which I would consider ok but I needed to store leftover bread in freezer for maximum freshness. I would not purchase this bread normally as I have a local Brumbies bakery which is my favourite bread

Soft, fresh bread with a chewy crust. My family enjoyed using this bread for BBQ chicken, cheese and cranberry sandwiches. I chose the pre-sliced option for convenience, which was cut into nice, thick slices. I've tried the larger 800g loaf before which was great, but found the smaller size 680g loaf still a good size for sandwiches. The bread was lovely and soft as the name suggests, with a thick, firm crust. We ate it on the same day we purchased it, so it was still fluffy and fresh. My husband, 2 year and I loved the bread, but the crust was a bit too thick and chewy for my 4 year old. We tend to buy wholegrain bread for our everyday sandwich loaf so probably won't buy this again, but for bakery-fresh, soft white bread it was great value and delicious.

Nice fresh white bread. These are a regular trolley item when wholemeal is unavailable. Come in loaf, sandwich or toast slices. We try to get sandwich sliced. Nice fresh white bread. Soft. Nice crust - not limp or chewy. A good size for sandwiches in lunchboxes. Definitely recommend.

Had way better, it's too heavy. For $2 a loaf, it's over priced but might make good breadcrumbs. I didn't enjoy how dense this loaf of bread was. Not only were the slices chunky, but the bread inside was heavy and when you ate it, it stuck to your teeth and the roof of your mouth. Not very pleasant to eat as a sandwich or as toast. There are cheaper loaves of bread out there that tastes, feels and looks better than this. I won't be buying the 680g loaf ever again. It's too dense. I bet if I threw it in the ocean, the loaf would sink like a stone. Definitely not a pleasant experience for the family, but at least now we know how it tastes, feels and it'll be passed over on our next shopping trip to rot on the shelf. Not all the loaves woolies bakes are equal. Give me thinly sliced country loaf with sesame seeds any day because it's light and fluffy and tastes like a slice of heaven compared to this loaf that you probably could get away with using as a boat anchor. Maybe if it wasn't sliced so thick, it might be tolerable? Sorry, I pride my reviews on being honest. Some people out there may like their bread thick and gluey. Good for them, but it's not something we enjoy in our household.

Very soft on the first day! On the first day it was very soft and had good texture. I made a sandwich with it and noticed that the bread was a bit thick for a sandwich but thankfully the softness made up for it. The flavour was not quite right and I can't really explain why... It wasn't too bad but it didn't make me want to eat the whole loaf with butter and honey like most white breads. On subsequent days the bread was still fairly soft but I no longer thought it soft enough for sandwiches so I toasted it from then on. It was a good thickness for toasted sandwiches but the flavour issue seemed to really come out in my toastie. I think for me I won't be buying this bread in the future.
