A universal household favourite! We love all cheese in this household and this was a winner as a good everyday cheese suitable for the entire family. It performed as expected for sandwiches and toasties and I imagine this is a fridge staple in most households. Mild in taste, adults and children would like this cheese. The price is reasonable with the larger size providing better value for money. Being made with 98% Australian ingredients is great for my preference to buy Australian made. Cheese being a high fat product should be consumed in moderation but it is a good source of dairy and calcium in our diet. Will continue to purchase this product for everyday consumption.

I much prefer a block of cheese over the processed shredded packets. It allows me to slice or chop or grate it for whatever I require it for. Also it's better for you, fresher and tastier. I sometimes purchase this 250g block and sometimes the 500g block depending on my cheese needs. I like to take the original wrapping off and recycle it. With my leftover cheese I like to wrap it in baking paper and seal the loose ends with rubber bands. Then place it in a zip lock bag. The cheese lasts for ages and doesn't sweat in this process. Mild tasty cheese. This cheese has a mild pleasant taste & texture is also good without being too hard & crumbly, but far from being extra tasty. We enjoyed this cheese & had it with crackers but would also be good grated over casseroles &/or schnitzels which we usually buy the pre grated bags of Woolworths tasty cheese for. Would be perfect for toasted sandwiches too. It is probably better value to buy this cheese as a block & grate it yourself. This cheese would be suitable for children as well as adults being a fairly mild taste. A great Australian product without anything artificial - a healthy product which I will continue to buy.

At room temperature for an hour (generally the length of time a cheese platter is out), the Mainland one definitely held its flavour better and the flavour differences were more pronounced-another reason for the loss of one star. Overall I would recommend the Woolworths branded one on price alone but, as others have noted, this is quite an uneconomical size to buy. If it is exactly the same cheese inside, then the 500g block is much more economical to buy. If you are looking to put it on a cheese board and you are on a budget - many people probably would not even notice it wasn't a premium cheese. I used to purchase the 500g all the time and then they changed the recipe and the cheese wasn’t as crumbly or extra tasty so it was great to get a sample to see if it’s still the same. Cheese it defiantly tasty but not extra tasty like it used to be. I had this in a toastie and it melted great. Gooey goodness with a nice flavour. It’s defiantly not an overpowering strong cheese. The batches sometimes can get a bit mild but fir the most part pretty consistent! Has a nice salty bite that's not over the top, has a bit of stringy, gooey, oozie beautifulness that you needed in melted cheese. Nice texture when sliced.
