Not a fan of long life milk. I’m not a fan of long life milk products so my star rating is more a reflection of my personal taste than the product. I generally prefer to go without milk than use the UHT products, as I don’t like the taste, but I’m sure this would be very useful for some to have in the pantry for emergency use. I drink black coffee so I can survive without milk when I need to!! I tend to buy milk alternatives (almond mostly) if I want to have a back up as I find I can add almond milk to curry as an alternative for coconut milk. Thanks for the sample but I may not buy this again.

Good replacement to have in the cupboard. We usually use fresh milk daily in our house, but as we had this sample, we gave it a go. While not officially being lactose intolerant, I have an interesting relationship with milk - sometimes good and sometimes bad - but I found this milk to suit me just fine. It is good that it is long-life, as it is always handy to have long-life available for those times when the fresh milk doesn't turn out to be so fresh I do prefer full-cream milk however- I've not been a fan of lite/skim milk for a long time. I would purchase this again, as the flavour was fine, the life span good, and the lactose free quality was a bonus. Will check to see if they have it in a full version first though.

Yay for a better lid! full disclaimer first - we're not a family who likes light/low fat milk. So we found this watery and not as great as full fat... that's on our preference though. What I can say we liked about this product is that its a great lactose free option, love that it's UHT ready to use at any time. and most importantly of recent times have changed back to the one step lid opening. Previously Woolies lactose free milk products had the lids you had to open, then there was a seal you had to pull back that would always break and be frustraiting. So thanks for swapping to these types of lids - it makes life so much easier! We've already swapped to the full fat lactose free version due to the lid change instead of a known brand.

Great for those who are lactose free. I was happy to receive this sample as I was considering changing my daughter to lactose free milk due to skin issues. I'm not a huge fan of milk by itself, but both my kids loved it, and asked for me to buy it again (daughters skin has improved). It is obviously long life milk, so I can have a good supply in the cupboard for my milk guzzling kiddos, has a handy cap on it that both can use (6 and 2) and doesn't cost much more than buying a carton of normal fresh milk. I was also able to find it in stock when I went to look for it, and have had few issues with it not being available. Thanks Bunch for the opportunity. This review is based on my opinion.
Pleasantly surprised as far better taste than I expected. I've been using LF full cream fresh milk for the past 12mnths opted to keep some of the Woolies long-life, low fat lactose free version in the cupboard for those times I ran out of fresh LF milk. And a few nights ago i needed to use this low fat LF milk and not really looking forward to it as I was expecting it to taste watery and have that weird UHT taint. To be perfectly honest I was very pleasantly surprised; certainly no weird UHT taint and the low fat version worked surprisingly well in Lactose Free ... indeed the overall taste for me was more akin say 2% fat normal fresh milk and it mixed in much better in my coffee than the normal full cream UHT milks. Definitely a winner for me and now thinking it may ... MorePleasantly surprised as far better taste than I expected. It was milky enough for me! A product that I wouldn’t usually go for because I am not lactose intolerant. The product comes in a recyclable container and it was a reasonable price, maybe even slightly cheaper compared to other lactose free milk products. As a skim milk, it is low in fat though it seemed to have a higher amount of sugar. This item has a 5 star health rating and is made in Australia from 99% Australian ingredients. It is stored at room temp so it can be kept for an extended period until your ready to open. After opening it obviously shortens the shelf life and then must be stored in the fridge. The plastic pull tab attached to the foil cover is very easy to open. So my two basic milk uses are with cereal and in coffee. In my cereal, I found it to have ... MoreIt was milky enough for me! The plastic pull tab attached to the foil cover is very easy to open. So my two basic milk uses are with cereal and in coffee. In my cereal, I found it to have a similar texture to my usual milk, though slightly thinner. The taste was nice and didn’t detract from the taste of the cereal. In my coffee however it didn’t enjoy it as much. The product frothed and heated similar to soy milk and had a similar texture, without the soy milk smell. It had a slightly metallic after taste, which did detract from the taste of my coffee though I really should not complain as I still drank the whole thing and being skim, I didn’t feel as full after drinking my coffee. I think it is a good product and would purchase again, if I needed to
Compares well. Well that was an effort to get, I checked often to pick up this bad boy as the shelves were always empty. I had previously transitioned over to the full cream version for my daughter from the more expensive brands which has definitely helped the money pocket. I have now decided that I too shall change over to this milk as it is quite yummy and being the lite milk is better for my tummy. We have a lactose issue that runs in the family but we are massive milk drinkers, let me just say I love that I can actually drink the milk without feeling like I swallowed a balloon. No matter how I used this milk I loved it and the price just makes it so much easier to transition too.
Deliciously creamy for lite milk. Wow, very surprised with this. I don’t buy UHT mostly because I don’t like the taste but was pleasantly surprised with this. As the carton says, tastes as good as regular lite milk - and it certainly does (well I haven’t had fresh light milk for a several years, so can’t compare but definitely tastes like regular milk). Loved the sweet creamy taste. I am not lactose free but if I was this would be a winner. Lost count how many times have run out of milk so would definitely consider buying one or two for the pantry just in case. Price point great at $1. 60 for a litre considering my usual milk is nearly $4. 00 for 1. 5litres (ok so am a milk snob, love a good milk with my Robert Timms coffee bags!). Always keep on hand. Easy to spot amongst the multitude of long life cartons of milk and substitutes on the shelf. This ‘free from lactose’ has a full fat and this lite version available with all the same benefits as regular milk. The carton is sturdy and the cap top is tight but easy to unscrew and the seal inside cracking open as you do. The smoothie recipe on the back is enticing. So convenient to keep this in the pantry for that day when you forget to pick up a fresh milk. For a lite milk it looked white and creamy and not that watery. It tasted just like milk, didn’t notice a difference without the lactose. We used for basic day to day things like cereal, coffee and a creamy pasta sauce. Great value at $1. 60 to keep as backup with a long BB date. We usually ... MoreAlways keep on hand. Easy to spot amongst the multitude of long life cartons of milk and substitutes on the shelf. Australian milk, a great option.
Just as nice as any other brand. With soy and almond long life milks, flavours and textures differ rather wildly. With lactose free light/1%/lite milks they’re all roughly the same with minor changes in watery ness and sweetness. We were really impressed with this and will only buy other brands when they’re on super duper sale. This is now our go-to long life milk and we keep regular full fat Woolies brand long life in the pantry for guests.
