Okay as a can of two fruits to put inside a cake. So I did For $2 you get a 410g can of Australian fruit ("Made in Australia from at least 96% Australian ingredients with peach and pear pieces from Australia"). There were indistinguishable small pieces of pineapple in there too - I didn't want large pieces anyway - and a fruit juice from apple, grape, peach and pear. As a two-fruits it is reasonable but not high quality. The pear pieces were just too much on the firm side if adding to an instant dessert like ice-cream. Still glad to be buying Australian though; just have to know how you want to use it. The name needs correcting as this is not a "fruit salad". I thought I would try to cook it, so this can of fruit "fitted perfectly" inside a throw-together ring-cake ... MoreOkay as a can of two fruits to put inside a cake. To the whole contents I added flour, sugar and an egg. It needed a little more liquid, and I neglected to add an oil... Next time it'll be even better. This version was pudding-like and was perfect as a winter evening dessert with the addition of custard. It also went well with a little cup of coffee...

Average quality for tinned fruit. Average quality for tinned fruit. It seems we were lucky and had several pieces of pineapple unlike others. I gave some to my young grandsons who devoured it with their icecream. I tasted it and it was okay. We tend to prefer fresh fruit in our house and I used the remainder from the tin in our smoothies. If we need to buy tinned fruit then I would prefer to pay extra for a better brand and quality. Disappointing to note that it's not all Australian produce especially during these times however this is acknowledged on the can. Overall it was edible but would probably be moved to the back of the pantry and used in a smoothie or for cooking as opposed to having it as a snack. Pears and Peaches... But Where's The Pineapple? Thank you, Bunch for another useful sample. I often enjoy fruit with Greek yoghurt and muesli for breakfast, so I knew exactly what this sample was destined for! This product's distinctive pale blue label made it easy to locate among the other tinned fruits in store. However, upon preparing to open the tin, I was shocked to see that it did not have a ring pull! I can't remember the last time I had to drag my can opener out of the drawer.... Woolworths, I really feel that a ring pull is a must-have improvement to this product. Having finally opened the tin, I was greeted with a lot of pear and a tiny piece of peach. Upon spooning the fruit into my bowl, the fruit ratios didn't really change. There was overwhelmingly more pear than peach and I only managed to locate 3 pieces of pineapple in the whole tin!The fruit all had a good 'tinned fruit' texture. Not to hard, not too soft My breakfast was quite enjoyable as I like pear (and I was eating a lot of pear!) $2 for the 410g tin - remembering that a good portion of this is juice and not fruit. Should you enjoy this product, purchasing the larger tin is far more economical ($2. 80 for 820g). Usually Australian fruit but current supply issues mean that fruit is being sourced from overseas at the moment. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Tin is recyclable. Given the disproportionate mix of fruits in this tin, this product won't be a repurchase for me but, as always, I appreciate the opportunity to try it.

Ok fruit salad but limited variety of fruit. This fruit was easy to find with the other tinned fruit. The fruit had a nice flavour, and was not too sweet. There was only 2 types of fruit identified, which appeared to be pears and peaches, we couldn't find any sign of pineapple in our tin. There was an even mix of the two types of fruit identified, and there was a relatively low ratio of juice to fruit in the tin, so it wasn't swimming in juice. At $2 this is reasonably priced and comparable to other plain brand tinned fruits on the market. We ate ours by itself, in place of a piece of fresh fruit with lunch. Personally we prefer a piece of fresh fruit but see this as a reasonable alternative to have on hand in the cupboard. Not sure if I would buy again, we are not sweet eaters generally and usually have either fresh fruit or frozen berries so this probably won't find its way into our trolley.

Good to see it comes in juice and not syrup, peaches were soft and the pears had a light crunch and gritty texture. Product had the right amount of sweetness and was enjoyed by all the family - Haha I got the pineapple. Jazzed it up a but with a bit of strawberry for some colour. This canned fruit has an eye-catching label which was easy to spot in the tinned fruit aisle. Comes with an affordable price tag. Ideal addition to a triffle, pavlova, punch, cheesecake, jelly, breakfast cereal, cakes, muffins and slices. Add more fresh fruit variety to make your own beaut fruit salad. Would I recommend - not much difference to the '2 fruit' - as labelled as 'fruit salad' you may be a little disappointed.
Peach, Pear and Pineapple Pieces. First up, the details on the product description for reviewing, mentions that Country of Origin may differ due to local fruit shortage. And that Woolies is making efforts to source the fruit from the best local farmers as soon as possible! Therefore, I think those reading reviews should be aware differing views may be extreme. Mine, an easy to open ring top can of at least 96% Australian ingredient. First impression is there seems to be alot of juice, but considering 59% is actually fruit pieces, that does leave considerable room for the juice. Once again, ingredients differ (particularly for the juice component) in comparison to the imported. Once again, ingredients differ (particularly for the juice component) in comparison to the imported. Serving 3, is sufficient in size but personally I would rather more fruit and less juice - It's like juice overload! There's barely any flavour in any of the fruit pieces. The few pineapple pieces were the only ones that had any slight distinct flavour. The juice too lacked, hence adding some fresh fruit to make it more like a flavoursome fruit salad and balance fruit and juice ratios. If this product was to remain as is, I would only purchase it as a base for fruit salad or adding to recipes. It's a convenient way to have fruit on hand and achieve nutrition at the same time. Having said that (although I'm not a mathematician) if 1 cup of drained fruit = 1 serve of fruit, that would suggest my measuring of each serving of just over 1/2 cup of drained fruit, is well less than the equivalent to 1 piece of fruit. At $2, its convenience is not to be overlooked. And yet, with these 3 fruits that lack in flavour, it doesn't resemble what I consider a Fruit Salad!Being a lover of fresh flavoursome fruit, I hope the farmers and Woolies can find a source that meets the mark, good luck!
Curiosity and Aussie fruit made me look. We received this fruit salad tin as part of a large hamper from a neighbour a few weeks ago. I’m not and never will be a fruit salad person however as this was a gift there is only so much pushing it to the back of the pantry to be done. The label on the 410gram tin was promising with a ‘perfect mix of Australian pear, peach and pineapple’. Sounds great, our son was bored so decided to see the ratio considered to be a perfect mix ( it says so on the tin). The peach two thirds, the pear around a third of the fruit (the dark piece is part of a stalk and was removed after ), the pineapple well, more decoration. The peach pieces were overly soft, the pears just right and the pineapple barely there but thankfully no core included. ... MoreCuriosity and Aussie fruit made me look. For the $2 cost it certainly would suit the budget conscious and is ideal to keep for a quick dessert for some. It would have its uses in baking and the basis for a fruit punch . It was something different and kept Mr Curiosity busy for 5 minutes sorting out the fruit. Thanks to my lovely neighbour.. After some additions for their dessert added by son.
Not Aussie Fruit. But on the tin it does say...... Due to local fruit shortages, we've temporarily had to change our source of canned fruit. I decided to try it out with ice cream and just a little bit of the juice. I liked that the fruit was in juice and not a syrup. All the fruit was a good consistency and the pears were perfect as I have had tin pears before and they can be a hit or miss with being too hard or they are falling apart. Not too sweet which I liked. A combination of pears, peaches and pineapple were a great combination and the peaches added great colour. The ratio of each fruit was good with the pears and peaches, but the pineapple was a little light on. This 410g tin will cost you $2. 00 ($4. 88/kg) there are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and has a 3. 5 health star rating. I would be happy to purchase again especially for a trifle, but I would be even happier when they can start to use Aussie fruit again
Pretty Good. I haven't had tinned fruit for ages, so was interested to try this fruit salad to see if it was how I remembered. The fruit salad was easy to find in the tinned fruit aisle at Woolies. FRUIT SALAD BURIAL. I finally got around to giving the fruit salad a test drive. I had a frozen WW sponge cake in the freezer, left over from another dessert, so decided to turn it into a grave for my fruit salad sample. 1. I dug a deep hole in the sponge. 2. In preparation for the body of fruit salad, I soaked it in an alcoholic substance (disinfecting the groundwork) That substance was "port". Good for colds and winter weather. 3. To make sure there was a soft surface for fruit salad's body I covered the surface with comfy strawberry jam. 4. I cut fruit salad's body in half and buried it on the bed of jam, then draped it in a blanket of smooth yellow custard. 5. Thanks bunch for your generosity. I will no longer "trifle" with this - life is too short! Stay safe and happy everyone.
