A trial to eat this Trail Mix. Thanks Woolworths for this sample, I thought the Trail Mix would make a good snack for my husband to take to golf. I did have a little trouble locating it though, despite the packaging having the same distinctive blue Woolworths brand colour, the pack isn’t stored on the higher shelves alongside most of the similar Woolies dried fruit and nut products and the smaller 40 gram packet of Trail Mix. I finally found it tucked away on the end of one of the lower shelves, where to me, it’s harder to see and more likely to go unnoticed. I do like the distinctive packaging design, which also allows for a clear view of the contents. However, I think for the sake of convenience a resealable bag, especially for these types of products would be a ... MoreA trial to eat this Trail Mix. However, I think for the sake of convenience a resealable bag, especially for these types of products would be a plus, at the moment once opened, the mix must be stored in an airtight container. I’d also like to see some recycling information as currently, there’s nothing printed on the pack. This 225 gram Trail Mix is reasonably priced at $3. 95, has no artificial colour or flavours, has a 3. 5 Health Star Rating and is suitable for vegetarians. There are only 10% of Australian ingredients used in this product and very disappointingly, there’s no mention of where the other 90% are sourced from, which I find a bit disconcerting. My pack contained a good mixture of all the dried fruits and nuts, which consisted of apricots, mangoes, raisins, banana chips, dates, coconut pieces, almonds, cashews and brazil nuts. I’d like to say we enjoyed this mix but we found it hard to tell the difference, flavour wise, between the apricot and mango pieces. The banana chips were extremely hard, boarding on inedible and the nut varieties, especially the cashews, tasted stale. The nuts were also bland and left an unpleasant and lingering oily coating on the tongue. I did note in the ingredients, three different types of oil used - sunflower, cottonseed and coconut... that would probably explain a lot. So it looks like it back to cheese and crackers for hubby, because this Trail Mix won’t be on my shopping list in the future. It has the potential to be a good product but the quality of the ingredients and too much added oil and sugar let it down and do not make for enjoyable eating.

Good snack on-the-go. I took these as a snack when I went out hiking last weekend, it was tasty enough and very convenient to snack on whilst on the move, however there are a few things that can be improved. The nuts in my mix had gone soft which was disappointing as I like the nuts to provide the crunch compared to the dried fruit; there was also only 1 Brazil nut in the entire bag! Most of the dried fruit was quite nice, I did particularly enjoy the burst of tropical freshness when I chomped down on a piece of dried coconut. The dried dates however were not to my liking at all. They were grainy and overly sweet, I think the sugar had crystallised in them making for not a pleasant taste. Overall, this product was easy to find on the shelf and a fair price but it's disappointing that only 10% of the ingredients are Australian. Resealable packaging would be a bonus, especially taking them hiking and pulling the bag in and out of a backpack to snack on.

Yummy healthy nibblies to compliment wine. Tastes delicious, but I can’t eat these too often! It’s same with wine…they both contain sulphites But even worse than wine, they have preservatives 220. Also lots of sugar & carbs. So that dropped the score rating for me. Packaging colours and pictures ‘pop out’ when I look for them in the drawer. I personally wouldn’t put these on Ceres. They are too chunky, and I make my muesli with most of these ingredients anyway. They are worth savouring alone or in a grazing plate. As tasty as they are, they are lasting a while as ‘a little goes a long way’A delicious taster but not measuring up with healthiness for us. Country of origin??? ‘Packed in Australia’ does NOT answer that question!!!

Good snack. Great packet of mainly dried fruit (66%)and nuts (28%), plus other ingredients like preservative 220, citric acid, different types of oil, sugar and honey. Why this mix needs sugar is beyond me. The fruit is sweet enough but i guess the sugar helps preserve dried fruit. The extra sugar is in the mango, banana and coconut pieces. Other dried fruit includes apricots, raisins and dates. The nuts are almonds, cashews and Brazil nuts. Only 10% of the ingredients are Australian, which is my main gripe, especially since we have thousands of acres of almond and stone fruit trees in Australia, plus banana plantations. Overall, I like the combination and it's a quick easy snack to put on a cheese platter or in breakfast bowls with cereal or yoghurt.
Good mixture and flavoursome. I found the product easy in the aisle with "dried fruits". Packaging was easy to spot and the wording on the front of the pack is very clear with the picture showing what is inside. I also liked the wording "chewy and crunchy" as there is a good mixture of product within the pack that this relates to. The product was fresh and there were no surprises with what was inside. Loved the mixture as it gives a good balance, rather than just nuts. It is expected that the nuts would be a little softer than if they were packaged on there own, as the dried fruits bring in that moisture. Price point is favourable, but I would only buy these as a special treat or for having as a pre-snack when having visitors. Not everyone's taste. As with everything there are going to be some samples that are not a hit with everyone. Our family was not crazy about this snack. Lots of dried banana, big variation in sizes of components, from tiny cubes of coconut to huge Brazil nuts. Each ingredient on its own was tasty but combination did not impress. There are other similar Woolworths products that we think are tastier. I also found it hard to locate, hidden in the dried fruit aisle, rather than with the snack and health foods.
Excellent trail mix with a great variety of ingredients! I love snacking on dried fruit and roasted nuts, particularly in the afternoons when I need a burst of energy, so I was really looking forward to trying this Woolworths Mixed Nuts Trail Mix. I was really pleased with the variety of ingredients in this trail mix; it had the perfect blend of nuts, including almonds and cashews, and delicious fruit, including dried banana and coconut. I loved eating this trail mix on its own as a snack, but it was also delicious on my yoghurt for breakfast (it added some delicious sweet crunch), which is a serving suggestion on the front of the pack. At only $4 for a 225g pack, it's excellent value. I highly recommend this trail mix for a healthier snack option.
Good Variety With An Unexpected Surprise! ;). This bag of Trail Mix was easily found next to the other dried fruits and nuts next to the cake mixes. I had read other Bunchees reviews before going shopping - many people said that they got bags with not many pieces of banana chips in them - so I made sure to grab a bag that had a good amount of banana chips inside. I guess that it's random scoops going in each bag, but still it would be good to have an equal amount of ingredients inside each bag. There was a good mix of nuts, sultanas and fruit in the bag, though I wasn't much a fan of the coconut cubes. I decided to have some with yoghurt and it was actually really nice, but I would eat these as a morning or afternoon snack with a cuppa too. But it's actually sultana's rolled up into a ball... not that appetising at all Still, it gave me a laugh... Overall, I really enjoyed the Trail Mix and even hubby liked it, so I can see myself buying it in future for a healthier snack option.
Medley of nuts. TicksBeautiful medley of flavours that complemented each other (sweet, nutty, sour)Great range of texture (chewy, crunchy, hard, sticky)Good ratio of nuts and dried fruits. I also love the presence of coconuts, banana chips and brazil nuts as they added some substance to the mix. Previous trail mixes tried had high peanut content and this trail mix didn’t have that so it's a big tick. Pricewise, it’s reasonably priced at 3. 95 for 225g ($17. 50/kg), cheaper than most branded ones. CrossesSome nuts tasted a tad stale and lacking the creamy taste and freshness. Use by date is 26 Feb 2021 so if I’m to buy this again, I’d grab the freshest one on the shelf. I found a big clump of mushy dates that solidified so I broke this up and mixed it in. Only has 10% Australian ingredients, no mention which ones nor the origin of the rest. Preservative 220 is presentIt is a handy snack in between meals or when out and about. For now, it’s a ‘no buy’ due to the quality of some of the nuts. The very low Australian content also made me curious where the rest of the fruits/nuts are being sourced.
Tasty Trail Mix. I LOVE nuts and dried fruit but try to limit my intake (I have no control and can eat a bowlful within minutes ) so this was a HUGE treat to receive as a sample. Found in the dried fruit and cooking nuts aisle, this generous 225g packet of trail mix had a see through window in the blue bag, allowing the purchaser to see before they buy. On opening, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the included mix. As stated on the pack, it’s 66% fruit and 33% nuts, so don’t buy this if you’re expecting an even mix. What is included though, is bright, colourful and very enticing. What is included though, is bright, colourful and very enticing. Nutritionally, nuts and dried fruits are perceived as ‘healthy’ yet realistically they are high in calories and in the case of this trail mix, very high in sugar (nearly 30% sugar with 29. 2g per 100g). So unless you can limit yourself to the meagre 30g suggested serving (there are 7 servings per pack) then I’d steer clear of this as a ‘healthy snack’ option. That said, calories aside, this trail mix is absolutely delicious - I LOVED it! Then again, I was always going to ... yummy nuts, succulent dried fruits ... match made in snack heaven! Naturally, you can (and I did) eat this mix straight from the bag. It’s tasty and moreish. But for the purposes of ‘sampling’ I added a bowl of this mix to a basic pre dinner platter when away for a long weekend coastal getaway recently. It was a nice touch and something a little different which the whole family very much enjoyed. The mix wasn’t too sweet, the nuts were fresh and flavoursome and the fruit was plump and soft. The only criticism is in the whole pack there was literally only one Brazil nut, which was disappointing for my husband as my son ate it before he could! I particularly liked the almonds having both raw and blanched types included. All in all, I recommend and I will buy again IF I am after a treat, not an everyday snack.
