Needs some Know-how. I'm used to fresh passionfruit, but our "supplier" was on hols so we tried the canned version over Christmas for various things. Overall, quite runny and watery if you're used to spooning it out of the natural fruit rather than this can. However, it is probably "good enough" if you develop some know-how about reducing the wateriness (maybe strain and add less liquid back or maybe there's even a simple way of thickening it without it turning into a festive disaster to be re-told at future get-togethers?The quantity is definitely fine. It was used over pavlova and cream, in yoghurt, and in supplying an extra passionfruit layer to the already coated Woolies passionfruit cheesecake. Would only buy if absolutely needing it and the fresh option is out ... MoreNeeds some Know-how. Add Passion to your desserts. I have only purchased this Passionfruit Pulp once, as the store didn’t have fresh passionfruit in stock. Yes was sweet, but I only used a few teaspoons for decoration. And with the fresh fruit, cream on the Pavlova... yeh it was perfect.... not too sweet and also saved the day too. There was more than enough for what I needed in this little can of 170g, so we used the rest in smoothies. I do prefer everything fresh, but if ever in need again will definitely buy this product. Is also perfect for smoothies, fruit salad and other sweets, cakes and for decoration too. Yeh, so why not add a bit off passion to your desserts and smoothies with Woolworths Passionfruit Pulp. ⭐️⭐️♥️

Perfect for pav! A deliciously sweet and tangy passionfruit pulp that's perfect for pavlova. It contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and has a 3. 5 health star rating. A very convenient product to have in the pantry. It's a lot cheaper than comparable passionfruit pulp offered by the leading brands. This yummy pulp can be used as a topping on ice cream or cheesecake. It can be added to cakes and muffins for extra flavour. The recyclable 170g steel can is perfect in size. The ring-pull top is very easy to open. I've rated this item 4 stars, because it is imported from China. I like the taste of this passionfruit pulp. I enjoyed it on some mango and strawberry pavlova. I'll probably buy this product when fresh passionfruit isn't available. Go on, ... MorePerfect for pav! A deliciously sweet and tangy passionfruit pulp that's perfect for pavlova. Convenient pantry item. This is a super convenient pantry item to have on hand when the baking mood strikes! For me it seems, fresh passionfruit is often the ingredient I forget off my shopping list, and whilst nothing can beat the taste (and smell) of fresh passionfruit, this canned passionfruit is the next best thing and has saved the day a number of times when making vanilla slice with passionfruit icing or pavlova. I like to keep one in the pantry for those just in case times. On this occasion I enjoyed the passionfruit syrup drizzled over vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

Great for smoothies. My daughter tried this product one day last week whilst I was at work. . . I only just noticed it's absence from the pantry! She regularly makes fruit smoothies, using fresh / frozen or tinned fruits - whatever she can get her hands on. She reports that this little tin was the perfect amount for a great, thick smoothie. The tin was easy to open (maybe a little 'too easy' as it works out, or the product might have still been there for me to taste!). The passionfruit had a great ratio of seeds to pulp and had a lovely sweet taste. As the tin has already been recycled I wasn't able to check the country of origin, so I can't comment on that. So, according to Miss 17, 'buy it again'. I guess that's our review in a nutshell. Thanks Woolies.

Handy in pantry. It is a very handy product to have stocked up in the pantry for last minute desserts. What I like about the packaging is it comes in small size so not much wastage. Lots of liquid in the can compared to fresh passionfruit but mostly syrup and yes the passionfruit aroma and flavour does come through well. What I didn't like about it is it is not an Australian product. Most likely would not buy unless I am really desperate and can't find fresh passionfruit when needed at the last minute. I'd rather pay more for an Australian product.

Perfect for on Pav. I purchased this passionfruit pulp on request from my mum, to go with our Christmas pavlova. Found in the canned fruit aisle, I love the small tin size, which was ideal for my dish, and the fact the can had a handy ring pull for easy opening. Flavour wise, I didn’t find this too sweet, and it had a nice mild passion fruit flavour. I didn’t ‘dress’ the pavlova, instead doing a ‘top your own piece’ selection as I was catering for a few dietary requirements and couldn’t slather the pav in cream. As such, I didn’t notice the thickness of the syrup as I just topped my piece with coconut yoghurt and drizzled with the passionfruit and it was perfect. However, my mother in law thought it was way too runny and not syrupy enough. Either way, it is a ... MorePerfect for on Pav. I would buy this product again.

Perfect topping! This tin of passionfruit pulp was an absolute lifesaver! We had a couple of guests arrive unexpectedly right after dinner one night, and I was luckily able to serve them dessert (my kids were thrilled because we only have dessert on special occasions!) I had a ready-made Woolworths pavlova in the pantry and was able to top it with whipped cream, fresh sliced fruit, garnish with the passionfruit pulp (tasted just like it had come straight off the vine from a freshly cut passionfruit). Magnificent addition to a pavlova! Thanks Woolworth's Bunch!

Sweet and runny. Packaging: This product comes in a tin with a ring pull lid. The label ha an easily identifiable purple background with photos of a halved passionfruit. Texture, Taste and Flavour: Surprisingly, there's a lot of syrup so it's quite runny and lacking much pulp. There is a mildly tangy taste but lacks the real tang of a fresh passionfruit. It mostly tastes like a sweet syrup with a very slight tang. Ingredient Ratios: The 170g tin contains approx. 4 servings and is 55% passionfruit puree. Uses: Can be used on pavlovas, drizzled over cakes, ice cream or pancakes, in fruit salads or in smoothies. Price point: Price is $1. 50 or $8. 82/k which is cheaper that other tinned brands or frozen pure passionfruit pulp. Overall: This product states that it is ... MoreSweet and runny. While it is would be a convenient pantry sample to have in the off season, I will keep using fresh passionfruit and would not purchase this product.

Texture of fresh passion fruit. I don’t very often buy fresh passion fruit as it can be quite expensive depending on the season. I was keen to try this product. I poured the contents into a container, it was thick and the consistency of fresh fruit. The taste wasn’t too sweet. It was all good until I checked the label ‘made in China’ the preservative is a thickener carbohydrate methyl cellulose otherwise known as E466 which should be made clear to those who have allergies. The product is like freshly cut fruit but I wouldn’t buy it because it has E466 and I personally have no confidence in Chinese foods as their standards are well below other countries and they often break food laws. I try to avoid Thickeners As they give me a stomach ache. It is a convenient ... MoreTexture of fresh passion fruit.
