Versatile product. Found this 250g packet of Woolworths Shredded Coconut easily. It was priced at $2. 35. I always have both desiccated coconut and shredded coconut in my pantry including the macro moist shredded coconut (which I love toasted on cakes) depending on what I am cooking. I notice the shredded is a lot more expensive than the desiccated which is priced at ($3. 60 for 500g) but much cheaper than the macro shredded which is $5. 00 for 200g. Prices have all just gone up. On opening the bag I poured it into a container so it is easy to use in baking. My first use was in a chocolate coconut slice and I found the taste and texture was good both in the baked slice and on the top of the icing. However, On the negative side it contained sulphitesI may purchase this shredded coconut in the future, however I much prefer the Macro product as it does not contain sulphites.

Delicious shredded coconut. Today I made up a recipe, it’s coconut fried chicken! It is absolutely delicious. I first made a batter with half S. R flour and half cornflour, added an egg and a dash of milk then enough water to make a thickish batter adding 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. I cut a chicken breast into bite sized pieces and doused them in cornflour. I then heated a pot of peanut oil till it was very hot. I then dipped the chicken pieces in the batter and then the shredded coconut and deep fried then turning each piece until I felt it was cooked. It was and the chicken was moist and tender and beautifully flavoured with coconut. A new dish to enjoy and Woolworths shredded coconut was the star!

I was very happy with the result. Highly recommended! One star less for the presence of sulphites. I'd love to see sustainable grown coconut on the market, with no preservatives and sulphite free. I am not sure I will be buying this 250 grams bag again, as I prefer the 500 grams one. Thanks so much for the sample!

Shredded coconut. This product was easy to find in the dried fruit section in my WW. This is a regular buy for me so I was very happy to receive it. I prefer shredded coconut to desiccated. Being shredded it is obviously bigger in size than desiccated. I use it in a sweet dessert pie I make. ( not my recipe so I’ll not post it. ) I also use it in a muesli mix I make for the family. It’s a pity it isn’t made from Australian coconuts . As i said I buy this and will continue to buy it. It stores well in an airtight container I have. It is low in salt and semi reasonable in sugar content ! Thank you WW and Bunch for the lovely sample. I will continue to buy this product. I imagine it would be great to add to a curry also. It is versatile and a great price.

Great for a Hummingbird cake. As soon as I saw I could have this product, I immediately bought all the other ingredients I would need to make my favourite Hummingbird cake, a family favourite. Everyone loved it. I was very happy with the coconut and would definitely buy it again as the price is reasonable. It is hard to find any difference between a more expensive brand and the Woolworths brand, so good value. The packaging was good, I like the window at the front so you can see exactly what you are getting. I see it is made from 'imported ingredients' it does not specify where they are from. The other information on the packaging was good with the calorie count and sugars etc. I always look for how much sugar is in everything, this only had 2. 0g. Very Tasty Coconut. I always buy this coconut - as well as the desiccated Woollies one - depends on the recipe. Woollies brand is cheaper but just as good as name brands so why wouldn't you? I also had a Bunch sample of frozen Blueberries so I made some muffins using both samples. This coconut has no added sugar and a 2 health star rating - well coconut is full of fat so that's a no brainer. It does contain some preservatives (220 & 223) & sulphites. A quick Google tells me that they are to prevent bacteria and basically 223 is to keep the coconut white. Hopefully people with allergies are already all over what they can and can't have with their food numbers. I'm grateful I don't have to worry as I'm not allergic to any foods (apart from watermelon - that's only ... MoreVery Tasty Coconut. I also just use White SR flour if I don't have wholemeal. But the recipe has blueberries and coconut - it does state desiccated but I just used shredded - what a rebel I heartily recommend this shredded coconut and will definitely buy again. I already had a full packet in the cupboard before I got this sample so I'm set for a while now!! It won't go astray though!!

Pantry staple at an affordable price . This shredded coconut is just as good as the name brand version. Definitely an affordable pantry staple. I really wish that the packaging was resealable, to make it easier for storing. States once opened to store in an airtight container. Great for baking. This product is packaged in a blue plastic bag that is not resealable. I emptied it into an old coffee jar. Packet says it’s no added sugar and perfect for dressing up my breakfast bowl but I don’t have breakfast bowls. I like it has no artificial flavours or colours and the preservative used is not one I’m allergic to. It doesn’t say where the imported ingredients come from but I can’t deduct a star as I also had a backup packet in my pantry I hadn’t opened yet. At $2. 35 I think this is good value and it will take me a while to get through the packet. Although the due date is October, I don’t mind keeping coconut past its date. I used my sample by making a Tropical Fruitcake with some substitutions. I pretty much only use coconut for baking or cooking with. The coconut looked and smelled nice and looked in good condition. It felt as fresh as dried coconut can feel. I sprinkled some on top of the cake and the owner up coconut added to the cake nicely. My husband loved the cake and seemed pleased. He told me he wanted this cake again and not to change a thing so I gagged he enjoyed the coconut too. I would repurchase but it won’t be for a while because I have a lot of it now.

A great coconut product for all you baking and eating needs. I must say that this is quite a handy product to have. You can using it in cooking and just sprinkled on your breakfast or dessert. It has no added sugar which I really love and it has a nice coconut flavour (I thought it might be a bit bland but it wasn't). This is something I would use quite regularly and it a great product to have ready in your pantry when you need to add a little oomph to your food. My only complaint, and I have said this many times before, I wish it was Australian. And I am pretty sure we grow coconuts in Australia!

Coconut Nut. Thank You BunchTeam for the Chance too try this 250gr Shredded Coconut, being a Coconut Nut, was quite Happy..
