What a versatile product. I made stuffed peppers with ground beef and rice. Super yummy and a really filling. The choices are endless with rice. Anything from breakfast fried rice with egg, dinners with loads of vegetables for my vegetarian days, or deserts, like rice puddings. A very affordable way to make your meals go a very long way.

Not for me. My partner in food is useless with details so when I said get the Woolworths medium grain rice he got this one Yes I knowSo we made our huge batch of fried rice and it is no where near as good as when I use the other rice. The grains are grainy and sort of crunchy (gritty is probably a better word) in a bad way The rice isn't lovely and soft and smooth and it doesn't seen to absorb the flavours as much as I wantI have stopped buying branded rice but will never buy this one and he won't again either

How good simple can be. See the info.... 71 servings! So, 71 meal options, for 1 person, or 35 for 2, although 17ish for a family of 4 at 0. 10c per serve plus cooking and washing up. Still a return to store poor recycle option, non resealable bland package with small fonts and texts. But good texture, clean, exactly how long grain is and cooked very well using package details. Taste was quite good on its own, as it should be. Rice, a healthy ingredient, which we use in many ways very often. Then we overnight-ed in the fridge and upped the anti with a Thai Stir Fry, and again a very happy family. Sometime the simple foods are the best. Watch the carbs thou if that is a diet issue for you.

White rice all round! This product was easy to locate in my local supermarket but had to do a double take as I assumed my sample was the smaller pack. Needless to say, white rice has been shared all round the family as the quantity was too excessive for my needs. Therefore, this also increased the sample options from sweet, to sour to savory and there were no complaints. Everyone thought the pack was very economical for the price but the quantity was a bit too large for one household unless rice is routinely consumed and best shared across more than one household. The rice cooked well according to the packet directions, was fluffy and had a reasonable health star rating. For more than one household, we would repurchase in this quantity, otherwise, for my household alone, I would opt for the smaller pack.

It's white rice... in bulk. I must admit that I was very surprised to be tasked by bunch to taste test 5 kgs of rice!In truth, we are not into white rice. So I shared with a friend who has a large family! The review from her is positive. The rice is as good as any branded product. It's just plain rice but can be spiced up and flavoured. This quantity allows for side dishes and desserts!I added coconut cream to a batch of boiled rice - it was ok. Overall, a good value simple staple.

Rice is rice! We have been buying this rice for years and have never had a complaint. At 5kg it’s quite economical and lasts us a while too. The only issue we have with this size bag is that once it’s open it doesn’t seal again very easily so we end up folding over the side and either using a large bulldog clip or some masking tape to keep it closed. We also transfer as much rice as we can into sealable containers. And it is tricky to find storage in the pantry for such a large bag too We have a rice cooker and because we tend to eat rice not that frequently, we cook the maximum amount and then freeze the leftovers so they can be quickly and easily reheated in the microwave at short notice should we need rice in a hurry ‍♀️ Washed in water a few times and then ... MoreRice is rice! Otherwise it does have the tendency to dry and crisp up on the outside and stick together in large chunks. I’m no rice connoisseur but I found this rice to have a pleasant taste and I can’t really tell any difference between this rice and brand name rices. Product of Thailand but I can’t really fault that as most rice probably comes from overseas. The large bag is redcycleable ♻️ 1. 5 year best before date Although we are likely to finish it before then Will continue to purchase this rice for a while yet

Value for money. Rice is a must have in every pantry. Easy to locate and when cooked it was fluffy. It goes a long way and lasts for ever. There are so may uses in various rice dishes. The rice was rinsed well beforehand to remove as much starch as I could. Thank you for the opportunity to try the sample.

Great Value and Great Taste. As avid rice eaters, this was an excellent sample and at $6. 90 for 5 kilos you could not complain at the price. I normally purchase Woolworths White Rice Long Grain 1kg ($1. 40) which is also good value. Even for smaller rice users, uncooked rice has a 3-5 year shelf life so a 5-kilo bag is not an issue. The flavour is just as good as shelf rival brands and if you want to dress your dish up, make yellow rice simply by adding a dash of turmeric added at the beginning of the cooking cycle. Years back I purchased the Decor Microsafe Rice Cooker & Veg Steamer 2. 75l (on special this week for $5) which gives me perfect rice every time, my rice used to be stoggy before that investment. I found soaking your rice in water during the day (cooking that night) ensures fluffy rice. A quick rinse and you're good to go, Interestingly this sample highlighted a bad shopping habit of mine; tending to only look at products on the upper shelves, and typically ignoring bottom shelf goods. Good things are found on the bottom shelves.

Great Quality White Rice. I was looking for my usual basmati and jasmine rice but the store was completely out of stock and they had heaps of packets of this rice. Well I have to say I am really impressed and was surprised that it actually taste better than my usual expensive brand. It is versatile and I just made some to test it out by frying it in oil with soy sauce and sesame oil which taste really delicious. Made in Thailand and you would be hard pressed to find anything that is produced here but would be nice if it was locally sourced. Has a health star rating of 3. 5 and contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives only just plain long grain rice. Bright coloured blue packaging that stands out and great price at $1. 40 for a kilo pack which you can't go wrong and can't fault it in any way. Will be definitely buying it again and highly recommend anyone to give it a try for your next rice dish.
