I use my cams for monitoring exterior security through my windows. I replaced a couple of my Wyze Cam V2's with the Pan Cam. The Pan Cam's range of detection or distance from the camera for triggering a recording is not nearly as far. It's hit or miss whether a person walking on the street will trigger a recording event, even with the detection setting at 98%. The other pan cam monitors property immediately adjoining and there is definitely a diminished capacity for triggering recording events, day and night. At night the Pans do pick up a better picture if there is any light, but in very low light the pictures have more "moving" pixelation. The daytime videos are more vibrant and being able to move the camera remotely is a great feature. If I had know ahead of time the enhancements and take aways of the Pan V2 vs the original Cam V2 cameras, I wouldn't have purchased them.

I bought this 1 week ago to monitor my two kittens in the living room and kitchen. I did a lot of deliberating and searching, and in the end I am very HAPPY with this product. The app allows you to view the live cam very simply, and with the micro SD card recording you can view live playback ( I assume up to a month). I strongly recommend buying the mounting strip (~$8) also sold by Wyze it helps significantly with the placement. If you have any hesitation about buying this device... DON'T... I would buy another one to place in the far corner of my living room.Minor Cons:1. The live stream may take some time to refresh, or the app can be a little bit slow, but if you close the app and open it again it fixes these problems2. Make sure you speak clearly when trying to communicate over the Wyze cam, the speaker isn't excellent but it is loud.

I have seven of these Pan v2 cameras split between two different locations 1,200 miles apart and they both work together within the app smoothly. They have been running just fine for about 2 months. These cameras are SUPER simple to set up. I have only about 10 M/s wifi in both locations and they have restarted correctly after several power failures - one that lasted a few days.I have NOT had the difficulties I see in other reviews. (At least not yet!) For one version of the app, since fixed, the app was crashing my iOS 16 phone when switching to landscape mode, but that was easy to avoid for the week or two it took to fix.I use these as "critter cams" as well as security and the picture is very clear, they work in unusually low light (it looks like daytime in ... MoreI have seven of these Pan v2 cameras split between two different locations 1,200 miles apart and they both work together within the app smoothly. Very impressed and worth way more than the price! Camera has a great picture, even with the lowest of the three settings. The two way communication is great and audible both ways. The night vision is excellent, and works exceptionally in zero light. My only complaint at all is that it's a little bulky and kind of stands out in the room. But it's purpose wasn't to be aesthetically pleasing, so I'm not taking stars away for that.Overall, I would highly recommend! I'm going to buy one for my aunt for Christmas. It's a very useful and even entertaining gift, a surprisingly reasonable price. Wyze doesn't even give itself enough credit for the quality and value of this camera.
This cam is better than the first version only because of the night color feature. Unfortuneately, it frequently rotates 180 degrees on its own accord and I get high resolution views of a wall. It takes multiple power shut down cycles to correct the problem and get it facing correctly again. I have all camera movement function disabled and use it as a fixed view - never panning. I spent a long chat session months ago with a Wyze tech and thought the issue was resolved, but it still happens frequently. I cannot rely on this particular unit to provide seemless security.
I have a 5,000 sq ft home with 40 windows. My security system has door sensors, but there is no way to put 40 window sensors on, so I have seven motion sensors as well. Unfortunately there are occasional false alarms with the motion sensors. To assist with determining real from false alarms, I installed a Wyze Pan Cam in the upstairs and downstairs. Now I can confirm whether an alarm is real or false. The Pan Cameras with Cam Plus are phenomenal! With the AI available on Cam Plus, we can eliminate alarm trips from bugs, etc. The cameras are VERY sensitive and pick up motion from at least 30 ft, even on mid sensitivity settings. With Cam Plus you can narrow the alerts down to only real people.I've only had the Pan Cams running for three weeks, but so far they are ... MoreI have a 5,000 sq ft home with 40 windows. I own 3 different Wyze camera products (cam outdoor, cam v2, cam v3 and pan cam v2). I have been very pleased with their cameras up until the pan cam v2. What I like about the Wyze cameras is the quick connection to see the camera view. I also own a Ring camera, and the loading time to see actual footage takes way too long. By the time the action is out of frame the video starts. I find the Ring camera not very useful, and instead switch to the Wyze camera to actually view what the notification was about. So when I purchased the pan camera, I thought it would work as well as my v2 and outdoor camera. The pan camera optics seem to be much different. So when I purchased the pan camera, I thought it would work as well as my v2 and outdoor camera. The pan camera optics seem to be much different. The night vision is not as good as the v2 or v3 for sure. I put the v3 camera up in my attic so that I could check rat traps without having to get the ladder out and head up into the attic. The issue is that I cannot mount the v3 camera so that it has a view of all the traps. So when the pan cam came out, I thought there was my answer. Unfortunately the attic is quite dark, and the pan cam is just unusable in that environment. I cannot see enough detail to see what I need. The v2, and v3 is a much better camera in my estimation in darker environments.
So far, in almost a month of using it, WYZE Cam Pan v2 exceeds all my expectations of a high quality surveillance camera at a fraction of the price of my other existing wireless cams. For that reason, I bought another one. Video is superb, displaying vivid color and clarity. I particularly like its full color night vision feature. The only drawback is its speed when I have Google Assistant stream its video to my TV via Chromecast. It’s quite slow considering both cameras are indoor and within 10’ from my router. My other cameras outdoor located in different areas of my yard quickly display video on TV once Google Assistant executes my verbal command.
We have been buying Wyze Cams since early on. We pretty much have most of their camera line and never had a camera go down. We have a 7800sq ft 1700's historic home and Wyze is approved by our HO8 insurance policy. We recently added the Cam Pan V2 to our line-up and now that we've tested it thoroughly, we will be adding several more. The freedom to see 360 degrees at the touch of a button is priceless. The night vision and motion tracking are dead on accurate. Crystal clear picture with instant connection every time. The siren feature already saved us from a middle of the night break in attempt. The continued support by Wyze for their products makes our old cameras as reliable as our new. Children, pets, visitors, all can easily be monitored. Just make sure to purchase a micro SD card as well. I would also recommend Cam Plus for at least tour main cameras. The AI has really advanced and can distinguish pretty much every event accurately. I haven't recieved a false notification in a long time. I always test for a decent period of time before I write a review. I can assure you that this is a purchase you will not regret and the perfect upgrade for members of the Wyze family.
I have 5 stationary wyze cams and this is my first Pan cam. I love these cameras. My stationary cams are sitting in my windowsills around my house. I’m not exaggerating when I say that my neighbors have called me many times to see if my cams caught anything… they always do.I bought the Pan cam to check in on my dogs when I’m gone and it’s exactly what I expected from Wyze. Great quality, fantastic images day or night and super customizable. Before I tried a wyze product I bought an expensive bundle from another brand (starts with a Bli**) and had nothing but problems and connection issues. If your not sure if it’s worth it to try this brand… I’m here to tell you that they ARE worth it!
