Xanathar's Guide to Everything
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but evil is in its heart! Xanathar - Waterdeep`s most infamous crime lord, and a beholder to boot - catalogs lore about adventurers and ponders methods to thwart them. Its twisted mind imagines that it can eventually record everything! You`d be shocked to discover just how much he knows about you! Yes, you, adventurers! Assembled here in Xanathar`s Guide to Everything is new information on adventurers of every stripe. In addition, you`ll find valuable advice for those of nefarious intent who must deal with such meddling do-gooders, including Xanathar`s personal thoughts on how to dispatch anyone foolish enough to interfere with his business dealings. Alongside observations on `heroes` themselves, the beholder fills the pages of this tome with his personal thoughts on tricks, traps, and even treasures and how they can be put to villainous use. Xanathar`s Guide to Everything introduces complete rules for more than twenty new subclasses for Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons, including the cavalier, the inquisitive, the horizon walker, and many more. Also included are dozens of new feats and spells, as well as a system to give player characters a unique, randomized backstory.

Game Kings shipped the book fast and well packaged. Arrived in perfect condition.Definitely liking the combo of Xanathar's with the other source books, currently primarily for the player sub-class and racial feat options. Other good stuff is options for falling and resting and extra details for skill with tools. Simple things that many may consider just page fillers I quite like, like the tables of personal and clan/family names for character name inspiration.

Oh Tasha, sweet Tasha, Iggwilv my love, why do you make me buy your books just to look upon you? What did I do that was so wrong you had to run off with a Demon Lord and spawn an evil demigod? Now I sit here lost and forlorn, knowing that there is no greater pain than the pain of knowing that the one you love doesn't love you back. Did you ever love me? Was it all a lie? I didn't believe them when they told me you were an evil witch. "Not her," says I, "just because she's clearly a witch with a great store of dark necromantic knowledge it doesn't mean she's evil!". What a fool, and yet, daily I compound the foolishness by holding on to hope; when all pride is cast down and love thrown back into my face, when each day is better than the next and despite my DNR ... MoreOh Tasha, sweet Tasha, Iggwilv my love, why do you make me buy your books just to look upon you? Xanathars Guide to Everything gives you all the benefit of a homebrew text file without having to catalog it or shuffle through pages of various source documents. The very fact that a well organized additional rule set is available is enticing. This reference book gives you additional options for class Archetypes and various roleplay options that are not discussed the players handbook. Since it is up the GMs discretion however, it may not be the best for beginner players simply because of the additional cost and/or limited funds of the group. That being said, the addition of suggested rare and legendary magical items is a welcome addition to my reference materials. If you can afford to pick up another reference book. I suggest you pick up Xanathars first.

Superb supplement, both for the DM and Player alike. The artwork is typically really nice and the additional DM guidance and player class options make this a really excellent addition to your collection of 5e books.
Xanathar's Guide should be an easy purchase for D&D fans. Featuring excellent, fun new subclass options, and invaluable resources for DMs, this book is a valuable addition for both players and Dungeon Masters. One of the first books I bought after the original three, and worth every penny.
I love 5th Edition. It brings together everyone under one umbrella whether they realize it or not. The only gripe with this book is Wizards of the Coast I felt didn't come full force with the available fighter sub-classes. I like the ones they provided but felt one ore more was missing. That however is only one small facet of the additional content available and overall I consider it a very worthwhile expansion to the lore of 5th edition. People who are tired of Pathfinder, miss the good old days, want to play with or without miniatures, desire a more simplified yet still intriguing experience whether in or out of combat: check this out! The main rulebook is still essential of course.
Actually a really good expansion/accessory. You'd think, being tied to a Beholder, that it would be filled with weird, freaky oddball stuff; but no. It's all very solid details and options for characters, without being in any way game-breaking. New character options include old faves the Cavalier, Swashbuckler and Samurai among others. You can now consider a Warlock without being beholden to Cthulhu or something. Magic items and magic item guidance, spells, traps, great stuff. Much preferred over the Tasha's Cauldron (which is still good, but a little more oddball).
I can never find things with my name on them...so when I found out DnD had a character named Tasha AND she had her own book...I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! It was a birthday present to myself. And I absolutly LOVE it!!!
Xanthars Guide To Everything is just that. An amazing source book especially for a Dungeon Master. New spells, gear, weapons, tables for names when making PCs and NPCs. The book even has notes from Xanthar himself that break the fourth wall as he talks to the reader and his pet fish. Highly recommend to a DM and those who play D&D.
A decent supplement to add stuff. I mostly used it to find more spells. However there is other stuff, like subclasses, and magic items. What's disappointing is the amount of space wasted on names. It's nice to give options of names from both locations/cultures in D&D and the real world. However, it winds up being filler than value content. And like anything else in this edition of D&D, the spells aren't organized for quick reference as to which class gets them.
