The Xbox controller protocol is somehow under 1ms. In the 360 era where it debuted it was 1ms at 20 feet. They enhanced it with the Xbox one s release to be just shy of 1ms which is... Amazing. It also has a range of about 30-40 feet.The protocol also has plenty of bandwidth so you can receive high bitrate audio with meta data needed to handle Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or Windows Sonic. All 3 are 3d audio codecs with Atmos being the best overall followed by DTS:X then Sonic. Win Sonic is by no means bad, you can definitely tell it's 3d audio and it works quite well and is very comparable to the PlayStation 5's 3d audio via Sony's Pulse 3d Headphones.If you want to step up to better quality 3d audio over stereo then you have to spend $10-20 to unlock a lifetime license to the Atmos codec and it will work on both the Xbox & PC using that 1 license. It will actually be available on any Xbox or PC you sign into which is nice.So this adapter is a great deal. It gives you the ability to sync 8 controllers all at the same time along with headphones. Of course I don't know of any games that use 8 controllers at the same time so chances are Microsoft built extra bandwidth in for future improvements like they did the 360 wireless dongle when they upgraded chat audio from FM radio quality to analog Phone quality (mic depending on course). They upgraded voice quality again with this and with a good mic it will sound really good but... Most headsets don't have good mics so mileage will vary there.Regardless you can't go wrong with this. More simultaneous connections than Bluetooth, better range, more bandwidth, less susceptible to interference and the lowest wireless input latency currently available regardless of device. So even if your PC has Bluetooth I still recommend this.In fact I just bought a 2nd one to use with my laptop.

I don't know if it's due to frequency of the controllers or if you have a wireless headphones that aren't Xbox then you risk losing controller connection. I also don't know if it's got something to do with battery life. But on PC Xbox controllers lose connection regardless of bluetooth or the adapter. I never lose connection with ps4/5 controllers over pc bluetooth. I have mostly bad experiences with Microsoft products. None of them work the way ... After dropping my controller for the final time, wires no longer worked and I was left with a controller that only functioned wirelessly.I was pretty worried when I realized that connecting via Bluetooth caused extreme FPS issues, but was recommended this little tool.The setup was easy enough. There was a little hiccup at first, but that was because I had disabled windows update. After enabling, it installed everything fine and was able to connect to the controller.Best buy's price was much lower than all other stores. I'm so far very happy with my purchase.

Works with Microsoft wireless peripherals much better than Bluetooth on my PC. Creates a more stable connection. No more sound drop-outs on my xBox Wireless Headset, nor any wonky behavior on my xBox Series X controller. Pairing is easy as well. It did require a driver that Windows 10 suggested via Windows Update. Once installed, press and hold the button on the adapter, then push and hold the sync button on your device. After that, once you fire up said device, it immediately connects to the adapter. The other cool thing is that you can do all the configuration through the xBox accessories app that would normally require a hard-wired connection to a USB port. Forget the wires, get this adapter!! Solid light on the adapter means solid connection to the device.

Nothing I tried would get it work other than connecting it via the long USB cable that came with the controller.So I purchased this Xbox Wireless Adapter, plugged it into my PC running Windows 11 and all of those frustrating dropped connection issues have gone away. It works great.If you're gaming on a PC with the Elite 2 controller, this is a must-have.
Simple setup and works great. I only knock down a star because I shouldn't need to buy a dongle in the first place. I have an Elite 2 controller connected to my desktop through Bluetooth, however, Windows has had an issue with their controllers randomly disconnecting from Bluetooth while playing games. I tried to resolve the issue by updating drivers, the firmware on the controller, changing driver energy settings, and changing the game settings. Unfortunately, the only "fix" I found was to get this wireless adapter or keep the controller plugged in. This problem has been happening to gamers for years now, and unfortunately, I am required to buy this dongle to "remedy" it. For a billion-dollar company, pretty absurd to have the issue going. Saved me alot of headaches on Final Fantasy 7 remake PC with the newer x series controller on windows 11. While the game runs fine with the older xbox one controller, it's very buggy with the newer x series controller. Now I have it hooked up via blue-tooth and this only happens in FF 7 remake on the Epic store version. It doesn't happen to any other games.The game or windows 11 keep cutting out the x series controller and you can't use the controller anymore. The only fix was to take out the battery and reinsert it. That was until I got this adaptor and the problem went away. For me the $25 was worth the price of not having to deal with this issue on windows 11.
