Technical User. I purchased unit on sale after reading reviews and verifying it supports xbox, and phone and windows via bluetooth (no adapter for windows required). Also, the instructions show the same as bluetooth pairing works without any adaptor for any devices. I pushed both xbox button and pairing button (3 to 5 seconds) , assuming something would light up or sound pairing mode, but nothing. 3 pcs and phone showed no controller in pairing mode. Strange. So I took the unit to a store and had them play with it and they agreed it should work without adapter and also show up on a phones bluetooth list. They agreed they would think something should light up. Batteries were verified as good and properly inserted. Next they pulled another new unit and same results. ... MoreTechnical User. Still wouldn't show in phone blueotooth menu after pressing pairing button for 3 to 5 seconds, multiple times. No indication the unit even powered on? Bestbuy employees could not explain and offered to exchange with a similar unit with a dongle but were confused why microsoft has a dongle version when this unit didn't require one. Sadly, the sale price I paid for the original unit was $40 and the replacement was not on sale for 80 so I just took a refund. I had 2 $20 wired controllers that work fine with windows laptops. Either bad units are shipping, or major bad design and improper documentation and lack of requirement of a specific dongle is required. BestBuy employees were also unaware what is going on.

PC gamer here who recently switched from console. Still enjoy playing certain titles on controller (more immersive in my opinion) and also use these for splitscreen multiplayer- I purchased 2 total recently. Love the color (bright green) but I assume others don’t feel the same since these in particular are often on sale compared to the rest lol. No matter for me though, got one on Black Friday for either $35 or $40 and the second one near Christmas for the same price or maybe $5 more. These feel comfortable in my smaller hands compared to ps5 controllers and have used these for long gaming sessions with no issues. Responsive controllers and solid battery life. I also like that I can use non Microsoft brand cords/ battery packs to charge/ connect controllers. My only issue with these controllers is their Bluetooth connectivity to non Xbox devices is just okay. Minor obstructions/ interference can some disconnect the controllers during use. For example, if I’m sitting very close to my wooden desk (my tower sits on top) and my hands hold the controller underneath the desk- the controller will disconnect because of the 1 inch of hardwood between it and my pc. Perhaps Xbox controllers have always been like these but I hadn’t noticed in the past. I also had one instance where after the controller disconnected from Bluetooth, it kept vibrating randomly even when not in use. Updated the firmware on both controllers but isssues still persisted. My solution has been to adjust the position I play in, or wire the controllers to my pc. Not great solutions but for now they work. May try a ps5 controller next to see if they play any nicer with pc than these Xbox controllers. Overall still happy with my purchase- matching controllers for me and the fiancé under $90. 4/5 for pc gaming but will post as 5 stars since im not exactly using these for their “intended” purpose.

Do I love it? Yes. Are there things that could be improved? Yes. But, I got it on a fair sale so I can’t complain much. However, I think my purchase price should be the regular price. Good: the joysticks, the ABYX buttons, menu buttons, as well as the main X button are all colored to match the controller. And it looks sooo good (any color looks good, really). I really like the black front/top on the bumpers, triggers, and pairing button panel. Looks awesome. The bad: I don’t like that the back of the controller is white. It seems they didn’t fully invest the time&resources to make the colored controllers 100%. Seems like they decided to just save a lot of money by not adding colored controllers to their production line and instead using the same, white, controller ... MoreDo I love it? Yes. I’m just surprised that the same company that produces the Xbox, sells the controllers half finished. The texture on the bumpers LB&RB is not on the main part of the bumper that is normally used; instead it is on the bottom, sloped part of the bumper(basically just an extension of the texture on the triggers LT/RT)…I use the top, main part of the LB,RB bumpers like most people, so the texture does’t help me at all. Also, the texture on the handles is OK, but it is plastic and faint. The texture does slightly help the grip and feels comfortable, but it is faint and still allows slip.

Man... I've always been big into PlayStation and all of their controllers, but the new Xbox controller is pleasantly surprising. I was looking for a good PC controller that wasn't Logitech, and I never put 2 and 2 together to remember Microsoft, Xbox, and windows are all the same haha. I wanted to get that sweet Sonic controller that they had, it even came with a rechargeable battery pack, but the money wasn't right. With the help of one of the reps, Liam, who's helped me in the past, he definitely helped me come to the decision that it made the most sense to get the regular Xbox controller, but in blue of course. Compared to the old Xbox 360 controllers, the battery life lasts VERY long, much longer than the PS4 ones, even if it's just with regular batteries. It ... MoreMan... It feels very comfortable, although I want expecting it to have that plastic matte feel to it. Another thing I might add is, it is much cheaper than the PS4 controllers and works flawlessly and very quickly with Steam and all other applications. Definitely recommend this as the ultimate PC controller and just a great controller in general.

Good controller, it's a slight update from the existing xbox One controller. Physically it feels the same as my old controller. Buttons feel good not too soft and not super clicky like some 3rd party controllers. There is a slight change to the battery door, the old door it is angled slightly to the front of the controller and where it meets the bezel at the charge port it sweeps out: the new xbox Series X/S controller it's more straight without the bent sweep by the bezel it feels more flush to that bezel. Any USB-C cable will work with this controller same as they do with any android phone/tablet or game console that uses USB-C. Now what I don't like is how clicky the D-pad is, I like the feel of the D-pad I just don't like how noisy it is, it also feels like it hangs up on something internally if I try to make full circles with it. This may smooth out with repeated use. I got mine in White to match my computer case and I do like the fact that the front bezel is also white. I also like the A, B, X, Y buttons being colored and not the same color as the blue, neon green, and red controllers. All in all it's a solid controller with very minor upgrades and cosmetic changes.
The controller is very awesome to use and its honestly probably one of the best controllers I used however my problem was that it was pretty dirty when I received it. There was a lot of grime and like dirt on the controller and in the x y b a buttons and it didnt seem like they didnt even try to clean it, The carrying case also had a lot of dirt inside but wasnt a problem since i was easily able to clean it. When I first picked it up it felt very greasy? Im not sure how to explain it but Ill give benefit of the doubt since my main concern was if the controller was in good condition or had any stick drift. The controller was perfectly fine, in terms of stick drift just a tad bit but it was only if I put my controller dead zone at zero which obviously would give stick drift but even then it wasnt bad. But it was basically non existent and didnt hurt my gameplay. Also the switch to change the trigger pressure looks like it was broken? Its not a big problem though since its a refurbished product , it does its job. The controller came out perfect once I gave it a good cleaning. Maybe they forgot to clean mine im not sure but if they had cleaned it well it would have been 5 stars. Anyways its not a big problem anymore for me since I cleaned it well but I just hope in thefuture other peoples controllers dont have theirs come in un cleaned. Definitely a steal at this price since I saved 63 dollars!
I bought this controller for use with my PC; replacing the mouse and keyboard. This device comes with no directions; just a piece of paper with 5 pictures showing each of the steps. When I first installed this controller it worked very well, but it rumbled, which I wanted to disable. As I said, there were no directions supplied, so, I went online downloaded the Xbox accessory app and that seemed to do the trick. After thirty minutes of gameplay, it stopped. The dongle would no longer pair with the controller. I exchanged it and the new controller also would not pair with its dongle. IDK why, but it did pair with the Bluetooth native to my computer’s motherboard, but now I had the problem of turning off the rumble. The dongle would no longer pair with the controller. I exchanged it and the new controller also would not pair with its dongle. IDK why, but it did pair with the Bluetooth native to my computer’s motherboard, but now I had the problem of turning off the rumble. The profile for the controller, that I created needed a cable attachment to edit that feature. While attached to the cable the controller worked perfectly, but as soon as I disconnected it; the rumble came back. Fortunately, I went to the apps page and read a harsh review that suggested using the steam controller setup found in the Steam setting menu. Steam recognized the controller and allowed me to turn off the rumble feature. Will this setup work with non-Steam games IDK. Does the dongle that came with my controller work, IDK as I have since returned it its box, and I don’t use it. Was the first controller I bought a good one, again IDK and Geek squad shrugged their shoulders and said the controller was probably bad and exchanged. There was no trouble shooting advice that came with the device and I was left pretty much on my own stumbling around trying to figure it out. This is my second purchase recently that I probably exchanged a perfectly good device for another; solely because I could not get to the right person. The controller itself is solid. I bought the rechargeable battery packs and I get several hours of play per charge. The device would get 5 stars, but the lack of good documentation, and the absence of knowledgeable tech support. That is what gives this purchase 4 stars; the support not the device.
In my opinion, the last gen xbox controller was the best of any console. So if it ain't broke don't fix it they say. However xbox got it right with this new updated version. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel they decided to perfect it. The changes are subtle yet for those of us how have one of these in our hands for a few hours everyday the difference is quite noticeable. Its slightly smaller and therefore slightly lighter. Although made of the same plastic materials it just "feels" more solidly built. The sticks and buttons feel a bit tighter and clicky. The textured grippy surface is a nice touch too. All in all, though not any major changes it is still very much an improvement on something with very little room for it. No frills, nothing over the top fancy ... MoreIn my opinion, the last gen xbox controller was the best of any console. So if it ain't broke don't fix it they say. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars just because it eats batteries fast and from what I can see, I haven't figured out how to charge it using a wall outlet. I asked an associate in best buy who said that the newer ones seem to not be able to charge using a wall outlet. I bought an extra controller, so there is a backup, but I think customers should be aware that you will need to keep a lot of extra batteries if you game a lot or you will need to buy a separate cord to connect it to the xbox itself to keep playing, which may be a more cost effective option in the long run, but it defies the purpose of having a wireless controller. I removed the dead batteries, but it doesn't work at all on just a wall charge. It seems to need batteries even though it will light up the "x" button showing it seems to be charging. I also read on other reviews from other sites that if you try to charge it using a wall outlet, you will fry it. Just a lot to be aware of since these controllers are not cheap - I got it on sale, but they are still not something you want to have to throw away by making errors from inexperience.
