Incredible JRPG. I have many fond memories of playing classic JRPG’s growing up, however, in recent years I feel like JRPG’s, in general, haven’t matched the quality I remember. The Xenoblade Chronicles games have been an exception to that, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has become my favorite in the series, and also one of my favorite JRPG’s EVER. The story is sooooo good. The characters are all extremely well written, and I loved every single one. The combat system is one of the best I’ve ever experienced in a JRPG (similar to the first two games, but refined). But Monolith Soft is one of Nintendo's best developers, Xenoblade 3 is one of the best games on the Switch, and what is now the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy is possibly my favorite trilogy in all of video games. To miss out on this journey would be to do yourself a disservice. If you've never played one before, give Xenoblade a shot!

The combat is the best the series has had, and the world is vast and beautifully designed. The main six cast are all incredibly deep and human, while also retaining the comedic charm of past Xenoblade party members. I should also mention I felt the Hero system was a vast improvement over the Blade system from 2. It allowed much more character depth than the blade quests, and the heroes all had enough side content, including their ascension quests, to make them feel like real characters in the world. The plot was gripping, with an intense emotional climax in the fifth chapter. Build crafting is incredible also. The Heros also come with higher qulity side quests which were one of the weaker aspects of the series. While there are still many basic fetch quests overall each colony's quest lines have more defined arcs and completing them will reward you by unlocking some of the more higher production value quests. Commander dying and have the character screaming out their name? Instead of the clearly said name of the Character dying they instead use "Ma'am" as the subtitles! Sounds like good solid subtitle work right? Seriously the game mechanics are fun and overall the game would for me be at least a 4/5 but the subpar subtitles holds it back a lot along with the game stuttering and glitching 3-4 times.Comparing this game to the last title also let's it down in my opinion. While not nearly as let down by it as by the subtitles the way the game handles fan service takes a nose dive. Sounds like good solid subtitle work right? Seriously the game mechanics are fun and overall the game would for me be at least a 4/5 but the subpar subtitles holds it back a lot along with the game stuttering and glitching 3-4 times.Comparing this game to the last title also let's it down in my opinion. While not nearly as let down by it as by the subtitles the way the game handles fan service takes a nose dive. I have no problem with this to an extent but I wish they had more fan service style clothing you could unlock in the game and wear optionally.TL:DR game mechanics are decent but game subtitles are subpar and compared to Xenoblade 2 the fan service is gone with no option to even have it. 3/5 at best.
