This is an excellent phone in MOST respects. I have mostly positive things to say about the camera experience. I could not care less about selfie cameras, so for me, the mediocre-ness of that camera doesn't even factor in. It could be a 720p camera from 8 years ago and I'd be just fine with that. The back lenses are excellent, with the caveat that the ultra wide is a bit of a letdown. Again though, I very rarely ever use that lens, so no big deal there. It's not bad mind you, it's just not as mind blowing as the other three. The main lens and two telephotos are excellent. That main sensor especially sucks in light even in the darkest scenarios. It pulls off low light photos that my Samsung S21U could only dream of.As far as the other features, the battery is ... MoreThis is an excellent phone in MOST respects. That main sensor especially sucks in light even in the darkest scenarios. It pulls off low light photos that my Samsung S21U could only dream of.As far as the other features, the battery is good. Not class leading but plenty good for a full day of use.I've heard of lens fogging issues but I have yet to experience it myself, however it does appear to be quite common so a bit of a ding on the quality there. The HyperOS is fine. I'm only used to pixels and Samsung, and while HyperOS is good, I do feel like it's not quite as polished. One example...Do-Not-Disturb is broken on this phone. Apparently on a number of Xiaomi models actually, and they do not seem interested in fixing it. This is probably the biggest gripe I have with this phone currently. I really use DND often and to not have it functional is not good. I'm reading up on third-party fixes but no solution as of yet.The charging speed is phenomenal, however it does qet warm when charging at 90W. I only use the 90W speed when I need a quick boost, otherwise I charge around 25W overnight.Call quality is great as is reception. No issues to report (I'm on Mint Mobile, a T-mobile MVNO in the USA). I have 4G and 5G, with no problems with any core functionality. The screen is good, but I was bummed that it could not go dimmer. My S21U was able to get dimmer than this phone can, so using it in bed is painful. As well, the brightness it claims has got to be overstated by Xiaomi. Please don't misunderstand me, it gets bright, but nowhere near as bright as the numbers suggest. You won't have any issues using it in sunlight, but you also won't be winning any "brightness contests" against any other current flagship. It's a non-issue for me, but when manufacturers make claims like this that are clearly bogus, then I do make a mental note of that with respect to their ethics of operation.I have received one OTA update that went smoothly and I hear there is another one out there to address a few minor quirks and camera optimizations. I'm looking forward to getting that.Speaker quality is on par with my Samsung S21U. Doesn't blow me away, but again....a non-issue for me. I don't need class leading speaker performance. I just need it to be good, and it is.I love the customizations on the side buttons. Having the ability to double tap the Vol down button and essentially immediately capture a picture (even with phone locked) is awesome. In addition, a double tap of the power button opens the flashlight and closes the flashlight (also with phone locked). I heard that feature did NOT work on the Xiaomi's, but wherever I read that was wrong. It works fine.Overall I'm quite happy. I hope they do some updates to DND and some tweaks to the camera software and minor OS bugs, but overall it's a good experience.I bought this primarily for the cameras (I'm a photographer) and it does not disappoint there. Nothing else on the market has the versatility and overall quality of this camera configuration. This next week I intend to take it out and do some astrophotography with it to compare it what my S21U could achieve. I DO wish it had a dedicated astrophotography mode, however I primarily use Pro mode (raw) for this, to have the control I need. The extra mode would just be a for fun exercise. If you are a photographer, you won't be disappointed with this.I'll end by saying I hope Xiaomi brings a setup like Samsung Dex to this phone. I actually used Lightroom Premium in Dex mode on my S21U to do a majority of my photo editing. It was that good. Sure there were plenty of times I need to go full-blown desktop PC to get something right, but for most people, the Dex Lightroom experience can easily suffice for all editing needs (IMO).I hope that phonemakers like xiaomi light a fire under the butts of Samsung, Google, and Iphone, to make large improvements in their hardware. They have quite outdated hardware supported by very good software, but AI can only take you so far when you're working with outdated tech.

An amazing camera phone. Takes insanely good photos. A lot of shooting/filming options. The closest thing to a professional camera yet.Only negatives are battery which struggles a bit but the fast charging helps you out. And the ergonomy oh the phone is a bit weird and weight is unbalanced due to the massive cameras. One if the lenses makes a rattling sound when shaking the phone.
