I was sceptical at first, but now I'm completely convinced. The air quality has improved greatly. I am amazed how dust and rubbish is in the air in winter. When airing, the number of particles increases significantly. However, the automatic mode still ensures good air. Have had no problems with the device and it is very quiet as it does its thing

I have a large dining/lounge so needed a bigger unit. I bought it to combat hayfever and it has really helped. It is light enough to transport to my bedroom at night and it runs quietly. Very happy with this purchase so far.

I originally purchased a couple of these a couple of weeks ago to give our office and print room an extra degree of protection from Covid, but I've also found they have helped remove chemical fumes and gasses from our printing room, and have stopped a niggly dry cough from one of our staff which appears to have been a sensitivity to the chemicals. They arrived promptly, were easy to get going and don't take up much space. Wish I'd got some ages ago.

Picked one up to see if it would help with hayfever in particular and does seem to have helped. Quite stylish and not too big so relatively unobtrusive and easy to tuck away when not in use. Didn't think it was too noisy, even at full bore and power usage seems relatively negligible. One wish might be that they had built a little carry handle into the case or even just a nook to put your hand when picking it up. Personally I haven't bothered with the app, seeing as I only use it infrequently so no comments on that.
I bought this because my partner suffers from a pollen allergy. We think the unit has made a difference, but it's hard to tell for sure because this unit doesn't measure PM10 (pollin) sized particles. It only measures and responds to PM2 sized particles (urban pollution) - so when on auto, it always run at the lowest speed. There is also the Xiaomi PRO model, which does measure PM10 particles, but has a bit bigger footprint. I also considered the Samsung AX34T, which does measure PM10, but it has a lower CADR rate, a bigger footprint, and much more expensive filters. The unit requires 200mm of free space around ALL sides, so make sure you allow for that. The front-controls are easy to understand. The unit requires 200mm of free space around ALL sides, so make sure you allow for that. The front-controls are easy to understand. The Android app gives you more control, such as being able to turn off the negative ion generator, set a custom fan speed according to room size, or program on/off/speed changes for different times of the day. At the sleep setting it's relatively quiet, but there is a noticeable, fan/air-movement rustling sound which is pretty easy to get used to. At the lowest manual fan-speed (probably similar to sleep mode speed), the unit reports it can fully cope with a room of 5-9 square meters, it's pretty quiet up to 7-13m, but the noise lifts substantially after that. If run at top fan speed, you probably wouldn't want to be the same room with it. It feels like it's making a difference, it's easy to control, fits into the space, isn't too expensive, the consumables are not too expensive, it looks nice in the rom, so we're happy with it.
This is very quiet compare to when running at low setting but gets noisy on high. Make sure you buy the air filter based on 30% of advertised area so you can avoid running the fan high. The sensor is also more accurate. There is improvement in maintenance, for example the cover can be removed and the fan can be cleaned. All sensor can be cleaned as well. However the light cannot be totally turn off at night compare to Pro. Having said that It is not very bright so it is not too bad.
The product has great features that work well. I have tested it and the laser does pickup if there is particles in the air eg when cooking. Then it ramps up. Only strange designing it is that the laser meter is opposite side to the display which is weird because if you put it against a wall with screen facing out the laser will be facing the wall. But does not effect my placement. Works very well and I would recommend it. The price great for all the features received.
Switching to Xiaomi from a variety of competitive products I find it extremely quiet. The software can be a little fiddly (bought from Xiaomi Thailand so it is International and not Chinese version) to set up with Mi Home software but once that Wifi switching and adding is complete it can be controlled from anywhere over internet. Hardware installation consisted of removing back plate and removing power cable and manual, replacing it, then plugging it in and pushing power button. Could not be simpler. It has pm2.5/temperature/humidity/Wifi status/mode displayed, and that display can be turned off. In the app it also shows whatever sensors can pick up, with additional filter % remaining. It can be set to automatically turn on and off and tweak that depending on your ... MoreSwitching to Xiaomi from a variety of competitive products I find it extremely quiet. It can be set to automatically turn on and off and tweak that depending on your behaviour patterns. Overall from the usability standpoint it's what I'd want all the rest of the stuff in my house to be like. Only downsides are relatively short filter life (but it's inexpensive at around 30$) of about 6 months and very fiddly Wifi setup which can be frustrating until getting hang of it. Every one of my rooms has one of those and I have no regrets whatsoever to purchase them. If you're looking for a HEPA filter that's affordable and leaves the rest in the dust in functionality - this is highly recommended one. There's also a Pro version for larger spaces and an older version without the display, but given Pro costs 2x as much you could have just bought 2 of these, and the one without screen costs literally the same so it's no point in getting it. Very happy and if Wifi connection at the beginning was made simpler, I'd easily give it 5 stars.
Good luck getting replacement filters. They are much much more expensive than just a year ago. It's a long wait since your order must be shipped from China. I believe they are in the process of phasing out this line. If I am wrong let me know where I can still get the filters at a cost even a little close to what they were last year. Also check, some of the Mi Air Purifiers will not connect to wifi in Canada.
