I've used a number of different moisture meters over the years and they all have a limited life expectancy. However, I've had the best luck with these ones, that may last 2 or 3 years depending upon how much they're used. Take note of the instructions to keep the probe tip clean and to NOT put it directly into water!

Not sure whether the item arrived broken or is merely a piece of junk. Dry dust and sopping mud receive the same reading. Useless...currently in search of a better product

However, I've had the best luck with these ones, that may last 2 or 3 years depending upon how much they're used. Take note of the instructions to keep the probe tip clean and to NOT put it directly into water!
