Minor air leaking from the connection is normal. The cleaner won't pick up leaves and articles. It is highly recommended to please check the Voltage range of the item beforehand only. Because the item whose Voltage range is within US Standard Voltage only i.e 110V-120V, they'll be requiring the Step own Voltage Converter if one is using the item in India as Indian Standard Voltage is 220V-240V. If it is used without the SDV Converter it will damage the item. Anyways if the Voltage range of any item is from 110V-240V, in that case, SDV Converter will not be required to use in India.

I wanted to post a review since I have now used this vacuum around 4 times and am really happy with it. We have a larger above ground pool that does not have a completely flat bottom as it is a sand bottom. This vacuum does a great job of getting the dirt out of the nicks and crannies and leaving the pool very clean. I personally like to get into the pool with the vacuum and guide it to the dirtiest spots to make sure that they are cleaned first. In order to do this, you kinda guide the vacuum's path rather than pick it up and put it anywhere. It connects directly to the filter and works best if you submerge the hosing into the pool first, get as much water into the hose and possible and then connect the hose to the skimmer port. We also then backwash the filter after cleaning the pool because the vacuum works really well and a lot of dirt gets directly introduced into the filter. The only hiccup I had was that the hose that comes with it is really up to a 28' long pool and ours was longer than this, so I had to purchase more hose sections to reach the ultimate length. The extra hose sections were half the price of the entire vacuum, which was annoying - but now everything works great. I am extremely happy with it. We had also had a "dolphin" automatic vacuum that was not cleaning at all. It would literally glide over dirt and not pick any up. The Dolphin cost close to 5 times this vacuum and now I am simply trying to return it, since this one works so well.

I finally got it "slapping" around the bottom of the pool for a good bit, but it wasn't really picking anything up. I have adequate suction, and my manual "stick" vacuum works fine on this skimmer setup. I'm going to keep working with it, and see if I can eliminate the issues at the skimmer, and I'm adding a line filter for the sticks and leaves too. I'm going to keep giving it the old "college try" and I'm hopeful that this will work out in the end. I'll edit and update my review accordingly. UPDATE (07/12/21): after reading another user's similar issue and fix from another piece of similar equipment, I took the 'flaps' off the bottom, and removed the screw to remove the guard that covers the weighted rubber "slapper" valve. I found that the slapper had excess flashing on the end of the molded rubber piece; I think that flashing at the seam was enough to cause it to stop or not move as easily as it should. This was probably the cause of my initial issues. I "shaved" that flashing off, smoothed up the seams, and I also added a plastic spacer beneath the plastic cover to give it just that much more clearance to allow the slapper to move freely. I put it all back together and it worked non-stop for a couple of hours. So, that initial issue is resolved, but it still doesn't quite do a "great" job on pulling up sediment and small debris. I will continue to use it and update accordingly, but it did earn 1 star back (up to 3-star now)... we'll see if I can continue to improve my experience with it.

Best pool cleaner for the buck!

I decided to take a chance and purchase the XtremePower pool cleaner just to see if it worked? We’ve had $250 dollar pool cleaners before, but the XtremePower cleaner is far better, absolutely NO COMPLAINTS! If you let it go for two or three hours, it’ll clean 95% or more of our pool, (ours is 18x28). Of course you have to use some common sense & help it out from time to time. It is after all mechanical and depending on pool pressure & suction, no computer chip or program for it to run. Be sure and take out any obstructions to the hose such as chemical floating applicators, the hose needs to be unhindered by obstacles. There will always be a portion of your pool the Xtreme cleaner will not get too, for any number of reasons? Knowing this, there are a couple of approaches to consider: one is to twist the hose at the insert in your pool to cause it to adopt different cleaning paths from time to time. A quicker solution is to simply use your manual pool cleaner and finish up quickly OR use your pool bush to sweep the sides and bottom of any area the cleaner did not get to for next time. I generally use the pool bush simply because I know there will always be cleaning to do, just use the Xtreme more often to keep your pool clean. It’s a great product, don’t waste your money on more expensive units!

So glad that I finally decided to give this a try. I had been looking at it the last two summers. Compared to similar products the price is too good to be true and based on the mixed reviews I was skeptical.I have a 22 ft by 4 ft intex pool with a 3/4 hp intext sand filter and it works just great. I am so pleased how well it cleans and has saved me so much time already just in the first week or so.A few of the users here on Amazon gave some really good advice about setting up. These are my main takeaways based on their review and my experience:1. Only use enough hoses to get you to the the length of your pool. This will help to improve suction power.2. Use only a few of the blue hoses to match the depth of your pool. You can use the white hoses if you have them which will float more to the top. This set up works really well for me.3. I used all three weights, but added them as follows. First right at the end of the vacuum, and the second and third at the subsequent hose connections. All three are still mostly under the water and help to keep the vacuum under the water. Play around with weights configuration. You may need more closer to the vacuum if your pool is deeper.4. Filter size is important. 3.4 hp is the minimum I would think. And if you don't already have the Sand filter system, I highly recommend that as well. I really makes a difference and saves on the need for paper filters.5. Keeping your filter clean is critical to the function of this vacuum. Backwash or rinse your filters regularly for optimum performance.6. Sometimes it gets stuck. If that happens, just backwash / clean your filter, lift the vacuum up about 6 inches from the bottom, maybe move it to a new location and it starts going again.Set your expectations realistically. It doesn't have a smart chip. You may have to still vacuum manually once in a while for maintenance, but with proper install and light maintenance, this will greatly reduce that need.

I read the instructions. That took 3 minutes of the total 15.My old unit is the Hayward that looks like a little tank with fluttering bars on the sides which are driven by an impeller that spins as water flows across it. That little Hayward beats itself to death by design. Every few months it stops driving and I have to disassemble it to get to the screws that hold the fluttering bars on, reassemble it and tighten everytaling the way. Then hope it runs for a minth before some random acorn finds its way into the impeller. This unit basically has no moving parts. The component shown in the photo for setting the pressure? I didn’t even use it. I plugged my suction hose into the cleaner and tossed it into the pool. It immediately went to work. I haven’t had to touch it again. No tangled hoses. It doesn’t get stuck on the main drain cover in the deep end like my old one, either.Remember the scene from Finding Nemo where the fis in the Dentist’s aquarium stopped up the filter? The tank got green and nasty, but the next day the dentist had replaced the filter and the water was instantly clear? Yeah- that’s pretty much my experience with this unit.

After a week, I found that maybe the rubber used for the flap is not as strong because if it starts to fold in at the bottom, it would get stuck. Since I go outside every morning to let the dog do his thing, I just check to see if the flap is flat. If it isn't, I just poke it with a stick and that is it. I will ask the pool man to add more weight to it and it should be fine. I'm going to take the $240 saved and buy myself better coffee.

This little critter is great, especially for the price. Yeah, I'd like to have one of those $1,000 robot pool cleaners, but for under $200, this one does great! It had my pool cleaned in about 3 hours, and I didn't do what the instructions said, which was to brush and totally clean it before using this (huh?)
