I hesitated buying this rack as there seemed to be many users not too satisfied with it. I'm only hanging two bikes so I figured I would give it a try... and the price was right. I must say that I am very pleased with this model. It has a very solid heavy construction and, if mounted and tightened correctly as it should, does not shake and rattle around as I was expecting from reading other reviews. For my use I will give it 5 stars.

This bike carrier arrives only one bolt short of completely assembled. Construction, finish are first-class. Instructions for assembly/use are clear and complete. All tie-down gear needed to secure bikes to carrier is included. Carrier package includes wrenches required for assembly and installation. Assembly is very simple. Only hoping the plastic securing straps will be serviceable over many uses. Rack itself seems quite sturdy.

Unfortunately this bike didn't fit three of four bikes my family owns. The rack is far too wide for most bikes, particularly kids bikes or any that don't have a straight frame. The only one that fit was the Rei Drt 2.1 large (and that was barely). I can understand why this is on sale now. I unfortunately didn't find that out until I installed it on my car. Easy installation though.

This is the first bike rack I've had, so I can't compare it to anything else. I found it easy to assemble and install onto the hitch. I did end of buying a torque wrench to make the removal/install easier, but it's not entirely necessary. Putting the bikes on is simple though the first round was a bit choppy while checking the instructions to be sure everything was installed right. The second time it was quick and intuitive. And I bought it on sale, so even better.
First off - the model I received was used and returned. Clearly some issues so I’m not sure if that’s why it was returned in the first place. It fits mens bikes great! Kids, teens, and women’s not so great. Apparently there is an expander I need for this, which is sold out everywhere.My Scheels store was great. Willing to take it back whenever they get a replacement in stock. I will likely be purchasing a platform style rack when they come back into stock. I will also make sure the next purchase has the quick attach feature versus threading the bolt.
It does what I need it to do…cart 1-4 bikes for my family and not be burdened by complicated install instructions. Works great, don’t even know it’s there going 85 mph.
I'll be honest, I've only used this once so far but I like it. The form factor and aesthetic is great on and off the car. I needed something to carry two bikes but wanted something easy to store in my small garage. The generous 7" spacing is enough for mountain bikes and road bikes alike. The zip strips are intuitive and seem to hold very well. Super solid construction but too early to tell how it will hold up over time.My biggest negative is the locking mechanism only locks the bike on the last set of cradles which isn't ideal for solo use. Also, if you want to lock up the rack to the car, a separate purchase is required.
The bike rack appears to be fine, but it shakes a ridiculous amount. I believe it's due to the metal pin on the top not being snug with the metal hole that it goes into, but the adapter for a 2" trailer hitch appears to flex with the bike rack. Because I'm worried about it's structural integrity, I plan on returning it.It does hold bikes well and it was easy to put together, which brings it to 2 stars.
Easy to mount and use. The tilt feature makes it very easy to open the tailgate when the rack is mounted. The clip system is also easy to use and the anti-sway feature for each bike keeps them quite secure.
My husband’s bike fit no problem. But my beach cruiser - a “woman’s” style will not fit. Not to worry though, Yakima will sell me a $49 adaptor. Why not make the rack to work with both styles of bikes to begin with? Grrrrr.
