Solid extension , easy to assemble, but it’s heavy!! When combined with the original rack , it’s 87#!! I don’t leave the rack on, so I get my workout out putting it on and off the car. When the rack is in, it is hard to put it in upright position wit. 1 person. 2 people is much more manageable. If you have all 4 bikes on, and use the tilt down feature, you are really going to have to work to get it back to level position. Getting bikes on and off is super easy, and doesn’t catch the other bikes. I am going to get extra keys so they can all be the same key for original part and extension. Lastly, it adds quite a bit of length to the car. Careful changing lanes and parking!!!

We bought this last month to extend our Hold-Up Evo 2 to a 4 bike rack. It was easy to put together and is sturdy. It's exactly what you expect from Yakima. There is one downfall to this bike rack, the part of the rack that is curved for your rear tire to sit in is held secured to the rack with a plastic plug. This plug is not secure and one broke after the first use. We recommend getting a metal bolt and nut and securing the attachment that way over the plug. Why Yakima would send a piece of plastic to do a piece of metal's job, I just don't know! Other than that, it's a great rack and will last a long time.
I have the older "HoldUp" version of the Yakima and this extension added on seamlessly. Quick shipping and arrived in perfect condition. Would highly recommend, now we can take all four bikes along!

bike rack is excellent and recommend to all my patients that are in bike community as bikes are easy to load without creating excessive force on a person's body. I am very disappointed that between the maintain Holdup EVO and HoldUp EVO +2 there is no lock to secure the addition. There is only a bolt that holds the two pieces together. For the purchase price of over $1,000 there should be something a little more secure. Otherwise a great bike rack and very versatile.
