Are these $2000 guitars? No. But for $2-3 hundred? Pretty darn playable. Sounded way better than what I was expecting, and my last guitar was a Martin. The FSX800c is really a $200 guitar, plus $120 for the electronics/tuner. A good value, probably will need work on the action, meaning the nut/bridge, but the truss helps temper the relief.If you already have a tuner and don't want the electronics, go for the FS800. That was my plan, but they couldn't locate it when I showed up at the store. They had the FSX800c, in sand, so I bought it. Either way, what a deal on really nice guitars.

I bought this guitar for my 15 year old granddaughter. She's playing at an intermediate level but was having a difficult time reaching around a large dreadnought body. Often small means cheap sound. Not so with this guitar! In fact I think it would make a great travel guitar even for more advanced players.

It's not a budget buster but it sounds good and is comfortable to play. The built-in tuner is a welcome addition that makes it easy to tune. It shuts itself off in a timely manner in case you forget to save battery life. The built-in preamp and the ability to plug in a nice. I'm very happy with this guitar.

I started learning a couple of years ago. My first guitar was a starter internet special. Since then I've purchased a couple of electric guitars. I only played those because the acoustic was too difficult to fret chords and play in general. I finally decided I would try a nicer acoustic guitar to see if it would be easier to play. I did my research and settled on the Yamaha. WOW! What an amazing guitar. It's just as easy to play as my tele. The slim profile neck is super comfortable. The sound is gorgeous. It's clear and very articulate. Just and amazing value. Love my Yamaha!
Great sound, play-ability and construction for the price! I loved the sound, sustain and warmth of this guitar off the shelf. Sounds great acoustically or direct through a board or through my Marshall amp. This is my go to acoustic over my Martin. I had some trouble finding the right strings when it came time to replace the ones that came on it from the factory.I recommend D'Addario EJ40 Silk & Steel Folk Guitar Strings 11-47.They keep the warmth of the original sound and have a great feel.I tried others like Martin Phosphor Bronze and they were too brassy/tinny on this guitar.
I got a comparable Fender electric acoustic at this price range first. I returned the Fender which sounded nice but the fretwork and neck wasn't as good. The Yamaha is great. Stays in tune and plays nicely. I think it sounds great for the smaller body. This is a really good beginner guitar.
I am a keyboard player and a band leader in the church, however, I am a fairly advanced guitar player. Currently own a Kawai, Martin LX1E and Aklot guitars. I was looking for an acoustic electric guitar with an easy action, not bulky, not heavy and fun to play with. I went to few GC and Sam Ash shops in my area to try and compare guitars. I was sold on Guild, GS Mini and Yamaha CFS1M. Then one day, I come across this guitar that was set up and sounded right to my ear. I like the price too, and to me, this became the best value for the money among the ones that I tried. I bought it and even set it up further by smoothing out edges, and changing the strings to a lighter gauge. Perfect! I found my guitar. Thank God for leading me to this instrument.
Really nice guitar, aside from the price. Considering price, this is a great value. This small body Guitar fits Even my tall daughter and tall son, and I notice that friends who come over choose this guitar over others to just sit down and play with or without amp. Sounds really nice along with the piano also. Lowered action (string clearance to frets) using enclosed Allen wrench (1/8 turn) to suit my daughter but my son did not mind as delivered action.

Profile is just thick enough to provide support without compromising movement around the fretboard. No sharp edges or uneven finish. My only complaint is the somewhat fake-looking veneer on the burst finish. But it's a solid top, so not a lot to complain about.Unplugged sound:Warm and refined sound, slightly mellow. Not a ton of projection or depth, but it's also not a dreadnaught. Compared to the Seagulls and Ovations I've used, this guitar sounds excellent through an amp or straight into an interface. Much fuller, warmer, and 3-dimensional. The preamp offers a full range of EQ options, and the tuner is very accurate. It also uses AA batteries, which I prefer to 9 volt since I'm more likely to have them.I don't usually write such detailed reviews, but this guitar impressed me enough to make the effort. I own 4 electric guitars, and I can't put this down lately. Definitely recommended.
Went to G.C. to buy an accoustic I had fallen in love with & spent over an hour trying out others to make sure I was making the right choice.I was about to walk out with the piece I had intended to buy & then this Yamaha caught my eye!Right off the rack, the neck felt PERFECT, & the sound is warm!And the smaller size is more comfortable!There was a used black Martin I liked as well, but I have enough black guitars.This piece feels & sounds just as good! The "sand burst" is growing on me. It's different!Sounds great plugged in too!And the onboard tuner is a plus!Lots of bang for your buck!!!

Love this guitar. Solid spruce top concert size. Great sound and perfect size. Built in tuner and the Yamaha electronics sound good. Bought it new in December 21. Had it professionally setup at Dr. Woods in Fox River Grove, IL (nut cut, and saddle adjustments). Low action, plays great. Always stored in a gig bag with humidity packs.Not a scratch on it, plastic cover from the factory is still on the pickguard. It really is like new condition with the addition of already having been setup correctly.Only reason I m selling is because I recently got a deal I couldn t pass up on a nice Taylor and need to thin the herd.
