One of the best synthesizer on the market. I really love this machine and I've already placed an order for a white one but then they told me that it's been discontinued and there will be a new version that I'll receive instead, some time in October 2023I'm pretty excited to see what will the next generation look like but I'm assuming that it's the same exact thing with some changes and add on, Montage is like an alien machine from out of this world!!!

After loading the firmware update this keyboard became an incredible tool to my studio. The sounds that come out of this synthesizer are amazing and well thought out for any musician from novice to expert. I am still figuring it out and enjoying every minute of it. This keyboard was an upgrade from my first Montage back 6 years ago. So far, the montage m6 is going far beyond my expectations in every aspect!!!

The original montage was already a great keyboard. Additional features added for workflow on the left hand side of the unit are a great addition with the additional screens. Subtle changes like the led lighting on the buttons for the right hand side also is a welcomed improvement, and the additional sounds with the new an-x engine make it a very nice rounded synth.

I wish it were more user-friendly like the Yamaha QY70 micro keyboard Workstation/Synthesizer from back around the early years of 2000. I learned how to use it without the instructions, which unfortunately did not come with my purchase. That would have made the Montage perfect even though it (thank goodness) comes with instructions so you don't have to search online. Other than that I love it! I'm still learning how to use it. I don't yet know if I can create my own arpeggios but if the Montage can do it it will be a big plus!
Really happy with this keyboard, it's very intuitive to programme and is working well for me in live situations across different bands and genres. The only thing that can be issue is screen lag at times when scrolling through sounds, however, this doesn't impact stage work as everything is pre-programmed.#sweepstakes
Got a good trade in value and price for the new MontageM6. I buy all my Keyboards from Sam Ash. Alway great service and fair pricing. The new Montage M is a worthwhile upgrade. Yamaha have significantly improved the user interface and sound.
I'm in a cover dance band that performs songs as close to the original recordings. My prior keyboard was a Korg Kronos which ended up with non functioning keys and has me waiting 10-12 weeks for a replacement part. As a working musician I can't wait that long so I decided to choose another keyboard as I was unhappy with the lack of customer service with Korg.When I first hit my Montage I reached out to Yamahas customer service with specific programming questions and instead of addressing my specific question I just got a stick answer that was of no help.The fact that the memory is not expandable is really disappointing as I'm almost out of space and I just got all of our sets finallybprogrammed. Wow! This is just a playground of creativity. It’s a heavy beast but that is reassuring that this is a beautifully made instrument made to last.Almost went for the Fantom but I’m really glad I spent the extra money. So often tech gets you into a spiral of more spending because it doesn’t quite do what you need. The Montage is not that kind of tech. For the life of me I cannot really see what it can’t turn its hand to.Almost every day has been a Montage day since it moved into my flat. Thank god it doesn’t demand coffee. That would be a deal breaker and it would have to go. So I think we are in a happy relationship 😊
I play in two different bands - First is primarily 60's/70's Rock, so lots of heavy B-3 Organ, horn sections. The other is mostly 80's, so lots of pads, saws, and whatnot.Most of what I needed was already there in Performances - just some minor tweaks. For anything I couldn't find or figure out, I was able to find a YouTube video of exactly what I was trying to do. Also, LIVE SET is a lifesaver. Absolutely no downtime stiching between patches.
This is such an amazing synth. The sounds are lush and the "twisty knob" adds an extra fizz to many of them. The "grooves" can keep you busy for hours or even days just noodling about. It's complex with buttons, dials, faders & knobs galore. I've been thinking about getting one for a long time...ever since reading Gordon's review in Sound On Sound. My only regret is not getting one earlier. A more than worthy replacement for my trusty vintage Yamaha SY77.
