I live in an apartment building with three other apartments. At 50% volume, this thing shakes the entire building. I didn't have the guts to go any higher. And the sound is very clear, no distortion. I just hope it doesn't bust out my windows. The entire neighborhood knows I watched Mad Max this afternoon.Note that it's deceptively big. You know when you see people playing chess in the park, and they're sitting on those little concrete cubes by the permanent chess table? It's that big. A grown man can sit on it and be comfortable. Ensure you have room for it.My only beef is that it didn't come with an audio cable. Come on, Yamaha, throw in a 10 dollar cable. Piano black finish is very elegant to match with other furniture. But it requires frequent clean-up of the dust on its high gloss piano black surface. The bass output is very powerful at 250W. It is very convenient to operate as the main on/off and volume switches are on the front/side panel (not on the back).
Yamaha achieved the perfect balance between Power, value and aesthetics. Contenders like Velodyne and Bower & Wilkins should respect this engineering.Highly recommended!
Don't just fool by the size, the output/bass it gives is immersive, so huge for it's size! And the internals are among the best! Yamaha knows a thing or two.
I never listened such a clear sound before this.Everyone should buy it.it can challege your room to thrill. I am really very happy to buy this one. After bying i realize that my money spent in the right way to choose this earthquake.
This subwoofer is terrific. Maybe only 4 stars due to the use of hard plastic feet which make a rigid connection with the floor. No worries though; easily fixed and the sound gets even better. Should anyone be interested the feet are SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System. Isolation is the crucial feature. Use the original screws with a washer as they are small and the holes in the feet are bigger than the screw heads. Tighten firmly but not excessively tight as they go into wood.
