Purchased for 17 year old son for Christmas. He plays electric/acoustic/bass guitar, quads in marching band and Alessi electric trap set. Also purchased here. He wanted to learn piano. Seen this. Firm believer in Yamaha products of all varieties. We got this baby set up and wow. This jewel does it all. I knew for the description it was cool but it's awesome. All the funtions we haven't figured out completely but it's impressive. From some one who is just beginning to experienced musicians. This does it all. If your looking for bang for a cheap buck here it is. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this combo for training my piano playing skills, which i have got in my youth. This keyboard is high quality and excellent for this purpose. And of course, the possibility to play also rhythm and accompaniment is very fascinating. As a matter of fact there are so many possibilities to choose instrumental voice and accompaniment style, that it makes some times choosing difficult. For now i have learnt only the basic functions and there are a lot of others which may come known perhaps in the future.

I purchased a Yamaha PSR series 76 key keyboard which came with a 1 year warranty and it didn't make it to the end of the warranty. The keys are cheap and extremely flimsy. One of the sharp keys broke will playing. Yamaha said to take it to their local service center for a warranty repair, but they refused to repair it because I didn't purchase it from them and I cant prove how it got broken. I called Yamahas warranty service and they suggested I try another service center 3 hours away in another state. I told them that was not an option and asked if they would just mail me a new replacement key and I would replace it myself . They agreed to do so, but I never received the part and never heard back from Yamaha. Yamaha's service was worse than their keyboard. It took some time before I got it, but the sales team were always informing me of the logistics.Back to the keyboard...The keyboard is simply fantastic. It was straight plug and play and the 66 keys made it a sweet spot for me and my kids to learn, play and have fun. I was also able to create a few beats on it but there is so much more to learn and use.Summary: This is the best item for beginners (my kids) and mid-rangers (me), and the best place to get it is from great professionals like Music Store.
Bought to learn piano and singing as an adult. Easy to use, enjoyable sound. Buy the wall plug and foot pedal. Also, if you want to connect the keyboard to your computer or ipad order the required cord. And an adaptor to plugin headphones. 4 Stars only because these items weren't included with keyboard, nor was there a way to know that they needed to be ordered - or an optional package with these essential accessories, specifically the cords/headphone adaptor. A good keyboard to learn on with room to grow.
I have an old Yamaha PSR-71 which I bot some 25 years ego and now Yamaha PSR-EW310 and am very happy that I bot this new one. It is beautiful instrument. It is day and night if you compare with the old one. Tremendous improvement in sound quality, panel controls and terminals, display items and basic operations. Moreover it has 71 keys keyboard plus an education futures that even professional player could use once in a wile. So no question this instrument deserves very high rating in my opinion.
I purchased this keyboard after my old Yamaha keyboard stopped working. I have been using this to record some songs I wrote and it has not disappointed. The sounds are very good and even sounds like sax and trumpet sound so much better than keyboards of a decade or more ago. The keys feel very good and the action can be adjusted electronically. Overall it's a very good unit and the only thing I miss that my old keyboard had was a pitch wheel that I seldom used.
The reason I got this keyboard is because the damper pedal does not hold the notes out forever but instead lets them ring out and than fade away on there own. This totally changes the way Strings and Choirs work. It makes the sounds much more useful. It is like this for all the first 260 sounds than for the next 300 XGlite sounds the damper pedal holds the notes out forever. There are also allot of fun percussion sounds from around the world. I think this keyboard is a real step up for the price. I love these new innovations. for less than 300 this thing is an incredible instrument. Thanks for the incredible keyboard. The articulation button is a great Idea but the vibrato that is used on most everything sounds to intense to be usable most of the time. It would be better if it did something different on every sound and you could control it with a foot pedal but that is probably a great Idea for a more expensive keyboard. It would be great if you could have two damper pedals one for a fading damper and the another for holding the sound out continually. I would love to be able to use this fading damper in mixing sounds on the MODX. That would be so musical.

Yamaha has an excellent reputation for quality musical instruments and this keyboard is no exception. We are not experienced musicians but the sound and tactile feel of the keys is quite excellent as it feels like you are playing a standard piano. The quantity of sounds that can be produced is astounding, though at this time we are just using the Grand Piano sound. The stand is okay if you don't need to move the keyboard once it is setup. It is easy to push or pull the keyboard off of the stand if you grab it while trying to reposition.
