Just to give you a bit of background: I’ve owned the Sonos Beam Gen 2, Sonos arc, Samsung Q900C, Sony A7000. All of these soundbar systems with subwoofer cost you at least $900 and above. Now I’m comparing that with a $299 soundbar. In all honestly I’m impressed by the sound quality of the B30A.First it’s built well but nothing fancy about the looks as it’s wrapped in cloth. The LED feedback is very functional but can appear archaic. The soundbar itself has a flat design and can easily fit under TV.B30A reproduces signature Yamaha sound. Clean highs and thumpy bass. Dolby atmos is reproduced beautifully considering its size and price. I would rate it close to the Sonos Beam Gen 2 or even better in certain movies. The clear voice is outstanding and when enabled the dialogues are so clearly heard even at low volumes. The bass extension feature is like the Sony clear bass - the bass gets really deep, however, at higher volumes you would hear the bass reflect ports pumping out air which sounds like flaring. This is not distortion but just that the drivers are pumping out bass from a small chamber. This soundbars support external sub and therefore I hooked it up to my own sub and man this thing is in a different league for just $299. Me and my wife are so happy that we found this soundbar for such a good deal. Of course this cannot replace a full fledged cinema system but it’s outstanding for our small condo living space.Customer service is also fantastic! I got the soundbar delivered in just one day and they also helped me cancel a duplicate order in no time.

If you're looking for a sys. that will give you a wow factor to your home entertainment, this one will certainly give you just that. Since setting up this Yamaha SR B40A in my living room, I'm putting the Bose 600 in a bedroom. Simply put, it's a Wow factor. I LOVE IT! FYI: "Make Sure" to install the correct model # for the app from Yamaha's site as this unit does not interchange w/ one another. After tweaking the sound adjustment I love it even more. Blue-tooth music sounds better in the game mode sound!

Sounds great but I can not get it to connect with my TV through the HDMI ARC. I have checked all the settings on the TV side. I also can not get the soundbar remote app to work. Lights flash on the soundbar when I try it out but the connection always fails.

Have spent hours trying to get sound through the bar via the HDMI eARC/ARC connection to no avail. Have swapped cables, updated TV software, etc. Have an LG TV and this is clearly an issue between these two products/companies, based on similar posts on the Web by other consumers. The solution, based on their same frustrations? Give up and settle for a more limited audio experience delivered by an optical cable connection, which at least provides sound. What a drag!
Easy to connect up to my TV, even thought its an antique w/o e-ARC HDMI. It has a optical port that handled that issue. It has the option to connect an external sub-woofer and a variety of sound settlings.I have it set to the basic stereo as its a bedroom TV, the sound is lightyears better than the TV speakers.I would buy again.
So for these soundbars, you really have to compare based mostly on price. The Yamaha has great sound and has the clear voice option for programs that dolby sometimes obscure people's voices. I like that it has the Atmos codec included and the simulated surround does an okay job. So for a smaller room to use without a subwoofer, I highly recommend the Yamaha SR-B30A soundbar.
Awesome low-end bass and controls via the remote. Plus even more settings via the App. Sound quality is fantastic. The Coaxial port on the back let me add my 1000w Polk Sub Woofer and the experience is even more amazing. Something most other sound bars don't have available. The only downside is that it's not really built for multiple external speakers for true surround sound. But for me, it's not an issue.
I just got one of these guys with builtin subwoofer and am writting the review on the same day becasue l am please with the sound quality and the features. It is quite big th, but it is worthy. I think this soundbar just makes my life happier. I will let you know if anything changes since is too early. So far so good.
I bought this unit because it provides a wired connection to my external subwoofer. I turn off the internal subwoofers and can still control volume of the external subwoofer. I like "clear voice" to be set. My subwoofer makes the floor vibrate. I downloaded the app for the unit. The app provides more adjustments than the included remote control. Sometimes the app has to wait for Bluetooth connection.
