Yates Garden Guide ANZ Edition
Our bestselling practical gardening book fully revised and updated. This new edition of the ever-popular Yates Garden Guide has been fully revised and updated to help today's gardeners tame big backyards, create stylish retreats, tend productive and decorative plantings, and get the most out of smaller spaces. With chapters on planning gardens, choosing feature plants and growing trees, shrubs, fruit, vegetables, flowers, indoor plants and lawns, the new Yates Garden Guide provides details on more than 1000 exotic and native plants, advice on soils, climate, planting, feeding and maintaining gardens, guides on what to sow and grow throughout the year, and comprehensive problem-solving charts to help you identify and deal with all kinds of pests and diseases. Sections on water-saving gardens, community gardens, keeping chooks, encouraging beneficial birds and insects, growing native plants, establishing kitchen gardens, and keeping healthy indoor plants have been expanded and updated to cater for modern living arrangements - in apartments and smaller spaces - and to reflect increasing interest in homegrown produce and environmentally friendly gardening. Full of comprehensive, reliable and practical gardening advice for experienced green thumbs and keen beginners alike, Yates Garden Guide is the essential companion for every gardener. Yates is the number-one bestselling gardening brand in Australia and New Zealand. In 1895 Arthur Yates saw the need for a publication that answered gardeners' questions so he wrote the first Yates Garden Guide, a comprehensive gardening book that is still published more than 125 years later. Angie Thomas is a horticultural consultant to Yates, and is passionate about the health and benefits of gardening, and about teaching and inspiring people how to garden. She is also mad about growing food and filling her house with indoor plants and the scents from her garden.

I have purchased several copies of this book over the years, and it is by far the best Garden guide you can buy. I highly recommend the Yates Garden Guide to both beginner gardeners and those who have been gardening for many years, like myself. You will not be disappointed.

Yates Garden Guide has been a long term favourite and this more recent edition certainly doesn't disappoint. This is a lovely book to leaf through, easy to read, and has beautiful illustrations. It provides a wide range of advice from basic garden tips, growing natives, gardening with children, organic gardening and keeping poultry. So many great tips and ideas.
Has everything need to plan and excute your dream garden, no matter the size of your yard
Has everything from herbs, fruit, vegetables, natives and ornamental. Everything you need to know as an Australian Home Gardener.
Great for the home gardener. Full of tips and information on both plants, pest and diseases, soil conditions and types.Extremely well written and informative.Highly recommended for everyone interested in gardening.
I found Yates Garden Guide to be lovely to hold and just leaf through, easy to read, beautifully illustrated with simple, easy to follow instructions, ranging from advice on keeping chickens to how, when & where to plant flowers, vegetables, herbs, fruit tree etc. So many good tips and ideas.
Use mostly for cross referencing gardening issues. Easy to read and understand. Great for all ages that have even a cursory interest in gardening and may just create a spark to ignite greater interest in horticulture.
I love this book. It's simple but so well laid out. Some of the language is a little old fashioned, but the facts are all there. Want to grow herbs on your windowsill? When to plant potatoes? Organic gardening in a small space? My new place had a veggie area. It never produced much. Answers were all in the book. Happy plans and happy gardener.
