Most companies have a 16oz and a 20oz version. Yeti is smart by offering a single 18oz. I own a Thermos Element5 with a 360' cap which works great but the mug has a handle and thick rubber base so it doesn't sit well in cup holders. I love the bare no handle Yeti design. It fits into cup holders and backpack bottle holders perfectly without any handles getting in the way. Camelback also has a similar bottle with a 360' lid but Yeti is sold everywhere, has interchangables lids, and works as good as anything else. Other coffee ramblers have rubber gaskets and complicated lid designs that arn't 360'. Yeti is leakproof, 360 degree, simple to operate and clean, and it perorms insulation wise. For coffee I think no handle is prefered for sitting in car cup holders

Love this! Love the new colour! Keeps my tea hot for a long time! Keeps my drinks cold for long enough! I didn’t think I’d like this type of lid! But its great! I fractured my ankle and have to use crutches and a scooter to get me around! I ordered this style Yeti for its claim to be leakproof! It’s true to its word! I can throw it in a knapsack for work! No spilling! And after work… I make a cocktail and throw it in my knapsack to get outside! It also can handle having carbonated cola in this style! All this is important to me for my day! OK I have Yeti product I really love: the Yeti 20 oz tumbler is a great cold drink car cup, for instance. the 14 oz mug with magslider lid is the best hot drink Yeti ever, and I use a WeatherTech CupCoffee adapter to make those mugs work in cupholders - excellent! and the 18 oz bottle with the Chug Cap is grate for day hikes or for clipping to a paddleboard. However: the 18 oz Hotshot Bottle with HotSHot cap is not so great. As a Thermos it is pretty lousy - making pours from this Hotshot into a cup will almost always involve some dribbles - not so great for in the car. and drinking hot coffee (while it stays really hot) is not comfortable as you have to tip the bottle way up and never quite know when scalding coffee is going to hit your mouth. nice idea but a less ... I'd stick with 14 oz Tumblers and pack extra coffee in a 24 oz Thermos brand product with a totally no-drip pour. Just sayin.

I got this rambler as a gift in Dallas and I purchased the 5oz Cup/Cap to go along with the bottle. I was very excited to have received a rambler as I had wanted one for a long time. However, that excitement has been replaced with mild disappointment. I currently commute by car, a 30min drive to the office. When I arrive at the office my coffee is warm, but not hot like I want it to be and is kept by other vacuum bottles I own. Due to this loss of heat, I can only give this product three (3) stars. I love the way the product looks, and it does feel solid, but maybe the rambler is better at keeping liquids cold than it does hot. If you have a long car commute or commute by bike, foot or public transport, I recommend you get another vacuum bottle for your coffee.
I've had this for about a month. Bought the stainless steel version. I use it to take coffee to work as I'm a tight ars*. Perfect size for an Aussie large latte. It's really well designed. The wide mouth makes it very easy to clean properly which is the main reason I bought this to replace the Thermos I was using, which was impossible to clean properly at work. The hot shot cap works really well and again is very well designed for easy cleaning.Where it falls down is keeping things hot. I usually make my coffee around 8am and drink it around 10am and for 2 hours, it works well. The coffee is still hot. But once, I had a few meetings and didn't get to it until about 2pm and by this time it was luke warm. To help maintain heat I always warm it up by filling with ... But once, I had a few meetings and didn't get to it until about 2pm and by this time it was luke warm. To help maintain heat I always warm it up by filling with boiling water first and then emptying it just before I put the shot, then the milk in.I've got a Japanese thermos I bought in the 90s that keeps boiling water almost boiling for two days. Even a week later, it's still warm. It's nothing like that.Saying all that, I still love it and use it every day. It fits in the side pockets of my backpack perfectly and doesn't fall out. It fits in the cup holder in my BMW X1 but only just. It looks cool.I've only had one mishap when I had been drinking coffee and had the hot shot cap open, picked it up with some other stuff and bent over to pick up something else and spilt coffee everywhere. It's difficult to tell if the cap is open or closed but there's a lesson there to check it every time. But I'd highly recommend this product for take away coffee as long as you drink it within about two hours or so.
I have had a 12oz. Navy Rambler for at least a half decade. My spouse has one as well. It is amazing. I've tried many other coffee mugs, and nothing can compare. The lid is leak-proof (you just need to make sure you've sipped out anything above the seal when you close it), it's durable, and contents stay hot for hours and hours. I make a morning coffee, one poured in a simple kitchen mug and a second in this for the afternoon. I can barely notice a temperature difference. Fits great in cup-holders. Easily fits in any bag (and I can actually trust it not to spill). It's been dropped and bumped around plenty, and I can hardly see any nicks or scrapes. It's been on many commutes, vacations, and camping trips. I'd love to size up to the 18 oz. when this one wears out, but I'm not sure it ever will...If I had to be critical... It can be slippery in a gloved hand (and would take off quickly down a snowy slip if you dropped it). If it's over-tightened and you then try to open it in a warmer location, the pressure difference can make it hard to open. Like any stainless beverage holder, certain liquids will taste a little 'off' if used for that. But yeah... fantastic overall.
Got this before xmas, and i choose it just for the color (Bimini pink) was my first Yeti purchase, with several other items.I was happily surprised when I used it. Zero leakes, very easy to use and to clean. Love that you can fully unscrew it. Perfect size for backpack side pockets. Safe enough to throw it inside the backpack as well. Also, it does a great job keeping things hot.Love it so much, that I just ordered a new one (to vary) on the "high desert clay color". Also picked a 12 oz one for smaller purse and shorter trips, but the hot shot cap is really awesome!
I have a few Rambler 20oz tumblers with the Mag-lock lids and I love them! They do a great job of keeping my water and drinks cold. However, they are not leak proof and can't be thrown in a backpack. So, I decided on the 20 oz HotShot Bottle. I don't drink coffee often, but the functionality of the lid seemed a better option as a water/drink bottle than the Chug Lid for me. The Chug Lid requires two hands to take a drink and a cap that can be lost. It turns out that I do not like the HotShot lid. It has to be screwed on and the opening tightened just right to be leak proof. Even then, it has to be tested every time it is put back in my bag to be sure it won't leak (which is often). It is disappointing that the 18 oz bottle does not have the option of being purchased initially with the Straw Cap and it has to be purchased separately. I do love the new red color though!
Finally a truly leakproof and simple travel mug!My husband and myself have previously purchased another well known brand of travel mugs and, although they work well and are lovely to use they are not leakproof when put into a rucksack or bottom of the buggy and the lids have so many pieces they are NOT easy to clean. The YETI hotshot is not only 100% leakproof but the design is so wonderfully simple and easy to clean! Add to this the whole thing is dishwasher safe, they keep your drinks hot and are not bank breaking in price then it’s a no brainier of a purchase.Highly recommended.I’ve waited to review until they’d been throughly tested but I could’ve written it almost immediately I was so impressed. This little guy is my constant companion. It's just the right size to bring with me pretty much anywhere. It fits in my purse, in my car, in my backpack's water bottle sleeve, and in the cupholder of my kids' stroller.
