Yonex adds another chapter to the EZONE 98! As with previous generations, this control-oriented stick combines spin-friendly targeting with raw speed. Like the 2015 DR version (a staff favorite), this 2022 update packs above average feel, comfort and stability for a light player's racquet. It also plays deceptively soft and forgiving considering that it has an RA stiffness north of 64. Granted, it lacks the mass-based power and plow-through of its heavier counterparts, but you'll appreciate the quick handling when scrambling on defense, hitting shots on the run or charging the net. For this update, Yonex adds 2G NAMD SPEED to the shaft, resulting in a more powerful response with better ball feedback. Yonex has also retooled the beam construction, adding a thicker, more convex cross section in the shaft (for stability) along with a thinner frame face (for a softer response). Other technologies include Yonexâs time-tested ISOMETRIC head shape, a unique design feature that makes Yonex racquets feel more generous and forgiving than conventionally shaped equivalents. Ultimately, this racquetâs raw speed and scalpel like targeting make it one of the most accessible playerâs racquets on the market. The fact that it feels great at contact makes it hard to beat.

This is a well balanced racket that offers a degree of stability and power. However, for those of you, who like me are used to playing with a heavier stick - the lack of plowthrough on a racquet in this weight range is very noticeable. A good racquet for its weight range, but you might want to think about whether you can use a heavier racquet to good effect.

Excellent racquet. Not a huge amount of free power or spin but it has plenty enough and what it does have is a lovely feel and balance

Bought a Yonex Ezone Tour racket which was ~10% cheaper compared to other biggest Selling warehouses in Europe. However, when racket arrived ir turns out that itâs not new but somewhat testing racket which has many bruises and looks like was used for a year pretty intesively.I checked the order and found that it was written âtest racketâ with small letters next to racket name. But it was nowhere else explanation or notification that youâre buying used/second hand racket. If I knew that it wasnât new racket I wouldnât have bought it. Because for ~10% higher price I coul have got brand new racket from other seller..Also, racket had overgrip which was so poor and slippery that couldnât use racket at all. So if you are adding overgrip to a racket (without being asked) ... MoreBought a Yonex Ezone Tour racket which was ~10% cheaper compared to other biggest Selling warehouses in Europe. Power, control & comfortThis is a very comfortable racquet, with a low RA, and yet, it has power, while maintaining excellent control. Some racquets, like Babolat Pure Drive and Pure Aero, give you power, but at the price of less control and stiffness (i.e. sore elbow). Others, like Head Prestige or Wilson Ultra Tour, give you control and comfort but you have little power. This racquet is too heavy for beginners and early intermediate players, but if you can handle its moderate to heavy swing weight, you will enjoy its full potential.
I love this racquet. Has everything. Power, control and feel. Well balanced and feels like an extension of my arm compared to all the racquets Iâve used over the many years
Strung with babolat VS touch and luxilon big banger at 53 lbs, getting awesome spin, satisfactory power, and great touch around the net. Took less than an hour to get used to the racquet. Psyched.
A very solid racquet! Been using plus racquets for the past 5 years and itâs all Yonex.
I've only had time to hit once with this racquet but I can tell already it was worth the money. With a little extra weight, the plow through is great on rally shots and is surprisingly good for volleys at the net. I'm still getting used to the soft touch for drop shots but overall it works well for me (as an all-around player). There's a generous "sweet spot" which allows me to get the ball in even on my miss-hits, and when you hit in the middle it feels amazing (on my elbow and offers generous power and spin). Also, the style and paint job looks great, especially outdoors.
The new EZONE 98 is Incredibly advanced. It has precise feel for the ball. The placement of the ball is with ease and increased confidence, the racquet is extremely stable and solid when hitting.I have played with the previous zone racquet and the new version I find hits with more spin when needed but can also give you the ability to hit fast and flat shots.Compared to the previous model the head is lighter giving you a quicker acceleration off the racquet while retaining the desirable weight overall enabling you to hit the ball with power.I find that the âsweet spotâ is bigger, meaning that you can hit the ball in a larger radius and still hit a confident shot.I feel totally comfortable playing with the new Ezone. Iâm a junior teenage boy player, playing every day with a competition every weekend.
Apparently the 98L is an update on the DR which hasn't been available for a couple years. I have 2 DR as they are at the top of the elbow friendly frame list.I absolutely love this racquet, the feel is almost the same as the DR but the 98L provides a noticeable improvement in ball control.Waiting for a sale to buy a second.
