I haven't had spicy rice cakes since I was in Korea years ago. Living in the Illinois Outback (translation: NOT Chicago), there's little Korean cuisine to be had. Once again, repeat after me: thank the gods for the internet! xDMy only complaint about the rice cakes? - - the cup is too small! lol But the taste and that singular rice cake texture is pretty much just like I remember. Yummy. Go ahead and try it, and oh yeah! - - the sauce is so good. I put my rice in it after I'd finished the rice cakes. Good stuff!

Wow! These were really good! After seeing numerous Mukbang videos on YouTube, I HAD to try this stuff for myself! I followed the instructions, for the most part, except I kept the lid on while microwaving. Someone else suggested doing this as the rice cakes can get dry if you don’t. I didn’t bother trying to find this out. I also added some mozzarella cheese, as many of the Mukbangers do. This made the eating experience even more savory. The rice cakes were pleasantly chewy, almost a little “too” chewy. The sauce was a bit watery, not at all spicy (and I’m a wuss with spicy stuff). More sweet than spicy, if anything. As someone else mentioned, it put me in mind of Spaghettio’s, for sure. Although a bit pricey, I will DEFINITELY be ordering again!

This is my absolute favorite! The rice cakes are perfect every time and the sauce is the perfect amount of spicy sweet. I’m so happy to have this at my home now whenever I crave it instead of only getting it only when I travel to Korea Town Los Angeles

The chewiness is something I love to wait for, while I’m heating it up in the microwave I’ll make one or two boiled eggs. Slice some green onion. Pop those in, the gooey yolk and bite of the rice cake is absolutely sinful with the chili flavor with the small crunch of greens. I wouldn’t say these are spicy, just flavorful. Also most cheap ramen upsets my stomach, this never has, I’m in heaven. I ordered every single flavor, I can’t wait to review them all.
I bought the one that has the 3 flavors, but all 3 are on the sweeter side, I like spicy better. They are small portion, half cup of water mixed with sauce powder and the rice cake.I guess would be good for kids or someone that likes sweet dishes.
I didn't know how it would cook properly with so little water, but it turned out perfectly. It's not exactly rice cakes. But similar to Mostaccioli. Very delicious, and spicy.
I was a bit sceptical at first because there's ketchup in it but it tastes pretty good.I like that it comes in a cup instead of a bowl because some of the other brands I tried kept boiling over in the microwave even though I filled to the line like they said, I also like that they cooked in two minutes like they said on the cup the other brands I tried are still stiff even if you cook it the same amount of time on the package, I thought at first that it was just a problem with my microwave, but this topokki actually cooked all the way in the in two minutes!😃
This small meal is always worth to get, in my honest opinion. Whenever I have a craving, it's here to the rescue and it fills me up until my next meal. I just love these cups so much!
The flavor of the original sweet and spicy is the definition of umami. I've never had tteokboki before and I instantly fell in love! Super easy to make, but don't add to much water or your sauce will be too watery. The rice cakes were perfectly chewy! I loved this as a middle between a meal and a snack. It was so filling I couldn't finish the whole cup!
The spice level is ok, but the texture is off-putting to me. The noodles themselves have no flavor and it's like biting into pasta so thick it just wants to get stuck on your teeth. I'm also slightly thrown off by the tomato based sauce, as if it's a riff on Italian pasta. The packaging would be better if the water fill line was inside. It's hard not to go past the intended fill line because the line is on the outside. Won't buy this again, from anywhere.
