Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Glow Matte

First I’d like to mention I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I normally don’t post photos of myself but this is too beautiful not to! I got the shade Illicit Orange and it’s absolutely stunning! It doesn’t exactly seem like a nude color on my lips but I’m not complaining! The application is smooth and easy and I love how the tip could be used to easily line your lips first. The packaging is definitely sleek and carefully designed. There is a slight scent to this product (not a bad one to me!) but if you are sensitive to scents, this product might be a no-go for you. So I've never really been a lipstick gal, but I'll wear gloss any day. I love to play in makeup and prefer more natural looks, so finding a colored lipstick I really like has yet to happen. Maybe its just me, but I have pretty full lips so I feel like when I wear colored lipstick that's all you see. I don't think I would wear this color, but I don't think it looks horrible either. I posted a pic you guys can tell me what you think. I have darker lips, so I think that effected the overall color as well. Here's what I like; It feels nice and lightweight, it's not sticky or drying, it doesn't stain so it easily wipes off in he places you don't want it, and it gives your lips a nice moisturized feeling. I'm deeply impressed by this formula. Not only is it amazingly silky for a true matte, it's also the most beautifully buildable lip formula I have tried in a long time. It's super easy to get a lovely medium-sheer application with just one swipe, and adding a little more on top can bring it all the way to full-coverage without feeling heavy at all. Also, the fact that the application is so silky but not at all creamy/slippery means I don't miss lip liner at all with this one. It's a low-maintenance lip, and it fades super evenly, which is really important to me. I love the little sparkles that impart a slight glow (especially with a more sheer application), but I still would consider this a true matte-finish lip. I've been searching for an orange lipstick that went well with my light to medium complexion. Illicit orange is actually a gorgeous color and I love how it looked! However, the lipstick itself wasn't very hydrating and it clung onto any dry patches. The packaging is long, slim and very flattering, but the shape of the actual lipstick in the tube was difficult to work with. The rhombus shape and flat top make it difficult to get around the edges. You would definitely have to reapply throughout the day. It has no staying power! There's also a slight scent that I didn't mind. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this lipstick because there's definitely better matte lipstick formulas that are more affordable or worth the money. I really loved the quality of this lipstick! And the way it looks. It really is the perfect fall color. I rated a 4 because of a few reasons. Although I did receive compliments on this lip color, I just personally wasn’t crazy about it. Tbh I prefer nudes and pinks (but that’s just me looking at myself in the mirror). The second reason is it’s not mask-proof and did get all messy when I put on my mask for a family party. However if you’re not wearing a mask all the time, it does last quite long and does have a beautiful fall color without drying your lips. The matte effect amplifies the boldness of the pure-pigment color in such a way that it's softly electric; bold but certainly not unprofessional. HOLY GRAIL

Love this lipstick! Trangressive Cacao and Equivocal Brown are the VIPs!! Perfect red-brown shades for me. Unlike a lot of other matte lipsticks, these feel light on the lips. I forgot I was wearing lipstick, which is a huge plus. I can see the tiny little sparkles (the site says they're made with pearls) in the lipstick, and they really do add a "je ne se quois". Please never discontinue these two shades. These are my holy grail!

Pouty Princess

I love the feel of this lipstick when I apply it, it glides on effortlessly. The color really pops on my fair skin. I, personally, love throwing on this lipstick when I am running around for the day but don't want to apply a full face. I can put on The Curler mascara, my Touche Eclat concealer, then add this lipstick & it's enough to bring my face to life & so convenient when I'm crunched for time.

Shade 202 - pretty autumn/winter shade

I bought this in the shade 202 and it's such a unique colour. It's a slightly brownish blue red that works perfect on my cool-toned fair skin. I've wanted to try brown toned lip look but always found them too orange on me but this one is subtle enough and it's perfect. Not sure if it's just this shade but there are very fine shimmers in the lipstick and it's so pretty! This new glow matte formula is much creamier and comfortable to wear than the classic slim matte while having the same great colour payoff in just one swipe. Not the most long lasting matte but it wears off nicely and not drying at all to reapply throughout the day. It is quite deep on me and more of an autumn/winter shade so I can't wait to wear this everyday when the weather gets cold again.

The design of the tube/package makes it hard to ap

I loved the shade 205 however it was sorta drying which made me feel as if it may have been old, but that is not why I returned it- I returned it for the same reason I purchased it lOl! The unique gorgeous packaging, might be unique but not efficient at applying the lipstick flawlessly. Because it's square/rectangular it is messy and would go outside the lines of my lips like I could not find a way to apply it and stay in between the lines. I mean yes you could use a brush. I actually would have but due to it being a bit dry I didn't think that would be easy. I wanted to love this I did. Especially being my first YSL makeup product. I do recommend this but for people with bigger/fuller lips or if you don't care about using a lip brush then go for it.
