Today I have a review of the fabulous @ysl skin velvet radical matte lipstick in the shade 302 Brown no way back. I received this complimentary from Bzzagent but these are my honest opinions. Details: This long wearing lipstick is formulated to be semi-matte, pigmented comfortable to wear. It definitely looks feels expensive with a beautiful chic lipstick case the YSL logo prominently displayed. The color is true to description, a beautiful deep brick red color. One layer provides a nice level of pigmentation that can be built up for an even richer color application. The one thing I noticed is that I personally found the square bullet shape to make it harder to apply this lipstick to my lips without going outside of my natural lip line because of the squared off edges. I’m hoping with more practice I will learn to apply it more precisely. This lipstick is incredibly comfortable to wear! It’s not thick, drying, or sticky. It feels like I’m wearing almost nothing with a light layer of hydration. This does transfer some when eating or drinking but still leaves behind a lovely stain of the color. I did have to reapply but only after eating my meal. It layers well doesn’t feel heavy. Overall: This is a luxurious, gorgeous brown red lipstick that is pigmented, comfortable hydrating. I love the lipstick tube packaging the only thing I can nit pick is the square bullet tube. It makes it harder for me to apply this lipstick precisely. It retails for 39 which is quite steep for a lipstick so it’s definitely a luxury buy. 4.5/5.0

Comfortable and Helpful Product Design

I was pleasantly surprised with this lipstick. Most mattes I wear are drying and make my lips feel uncomfortably dry, but this one was a bit more comfortable to wear. I got this in Psychedelic Chili and expected some staining after wearing the product but it really didn’t stain too much (disclaimer: I do put on a primer under matte products so that may have helped prevent staining). I will say that it is not super long lasting, but that’s to be expected with a lipstick.The packaging is gorgeous and functional. I love how slim it is because it makes it easy to travel with or throw in your purse. The angled square shape of the product itself makes it incredibly user friendly. Gorgeous shade

This shade is a deep red and gorgeous shade that complements my skin tone. By the way my skin tone is light to medium, but I think this would go well with every skin tone. Which is really rare when it comes to a red shade, especially a deep red. I honestly don't usually choose reds because I struggle with finding shades that pair well with my skin tone, but i absolutely recommend trying this one. So if you make a mistake, no problem, which makes it easy to use for any skill set. It stays in place and doesn't run or smudge and is longwearing. I have also noticed too that it doesn't get cakey or messy with longwearing and reapplication. There is no peeling or lipstick build up in the corners of your lips and such. One more thing this shade goes on lightly, so you can adjust how dark you want the shade to be.

Perfomed well with chapped lips

I gave this the ultimate test. With having a cold, my lips were slightly rough. This didn't make my lips feel anymore which can tend to happen when you have a cold. Nor did my lips feel tighter which can sometimes happen with a Matte formula. This is not a kiss proof formula. I did give it a test by blotting my lips on the back of my hand. When rubbing the print away the color did stay behind a bit. But there was minimal print on my glass. For a Matte lipstick that is not designed to be a color stay, I think this is a great formula. Not overly drying on the lips, yet rich in pigment and didn't exaggerate the lines in my lips or feather when worn without a lip liner. I prefer matte lip color because it lasts longer, but sometimes the formula can be drawing. This lipstick was rich, moisturizing, and had bold Vivid color oh, that did not dry out my lips. I love this shade of Orange because it's tame enough for everyday wear, but still a unique hue. The elegant gold packaging of the lipstick is absolutely beautiful, and perfect for gifting. The Perfect Holiday Shade

I wore shade 416 the other day without any makeup (see attached picture) and it made me feel so confident and beautiful. The pop of color is gorgeous for my skin tone (Mac NC45) and I love the lightweight feel of the lipstick, especially during these drier months when you don't want something really heavy and matte on your lips. While this is advertised as a matte lipstick, it's truly not. There is some residue left and it will smudge after one application - if you're ok with that, then this lipstick is perfect for you. I loved the shade 205 however it was sorta drying which made me feel as if it may have been old, but that is not why I returned it- I returned it for the same reason I purchased it lOl! The unique gorgeous packaging, might be unique but not efficient at applying the lipstick flawlessly. Because it's square/rectangular it is messy and would go outside the lines of my lips like I could not find a way to apply it and stay in between the lines. I mean yes you could use a brush. I actually would have but due to it being a bit dry I didn't think that would be easy. I wanted to love this I did. Especially being my first YSL makeup product. I do recommend this but for people with bigger/fuller lips or if you don't care about using a lip brush then go for it.
