That is really impressive because I am constantly drinking water all day - so the fact that it doesn't budge through that gets an A+ from me. The stain also doesn't transfer like lipstick does - which means that I can safely drink from my water bottle without getting lipstick smudged all it and all over my teeth! The stain doesn't dry out my lips, which is a huge problem for me with traditional lip stains, so I really like that I can get the look of a stain without having gross, wrinkly, dried-up lips. \n\nI also really love the packaging - the gold cap is luxurious, and the casing is light weight. The casing is light weight because it's made out of plastic, which I know a few bloggers didn't like, but personally I really like it because it doesn't add any weight to my handbag. There's nothing worse than getting shoulder pains from carrying too much weight in your handbag (which I have definitely experienced before!). I haven't had any issues with the gold on the cap or the text on the packaging rubbing off, which has happened to me before with other makeup items. I also really like the clear window in the casing - for one it enables me to see what colour it is without having to flip it over and read the shade number, and two, it allows me to see how much gloss is left in the casing. \n\nThe applicator wand itself is a tear-drop shape, which means that you can quickly cover a large amount of lip with the round part, and also get concise lines with the pointed end. The texture of it is almost fuzzy, which enables it to pick up and deposit the right amount of product. Because the texture is fuzzy, it's also soft on the lips - which is an unexpected bonus!\n\nAll in all, this is very much worth the price. Even single aspect of it - from the formula, to the packaging, to the applicator, has been extremely well thought out and developed. This is a very high quality gloss and I will repurchase it when I run out.\n

It has the perfect amount of pigment. The perfect amount of gloss. It's not too thick or too thin. It's not sticky. It's very lightweight and hydrating. I don't know how they made this gloss/stain, but it must be magic or something. This really is a long wearing gloss. The best way in which I would descirbe this product is in between a long wearing lipstick and a lip gloss- yes a lip stain, but it really stains your lips. The colour initally applies very vibrant - I would call it a medium colouring which can feel slightly sticky but then it gradually fades into a satin almost matte finish.\n\nHowever, it still looks super shinny and fades during wear over the day leaving your lips with a tint. The pigmentation of this product is unlike no other- it lasts through food, kissing, and day to day activities. Untill at the end of the day Im still left with a slight tint to my lips.\nThe glossy stain wont dry your lips out which I was worried about- the product is a long wearing stain but unlike others Ive tried there is nothing to fear about drying and feathering lips. However if you have extrememely dry lips Id probably put gloss on or a balm first and let it dry before applying this product.\n\nIn terms of removing the product - I dont have any problems- it comes off with soap and water or a good make up removal product. The only negative to this product I have found is the smell- like a few other reviewers, Im not a fan, its very strong, it does fade but I dont like it. Its really heavily perfumed and it doesnt really need that to be honest.\nOverall this is my favourite lip product ever- its expensive but its pretty, lives up to its claims, and lasts forever! I now have three- I think its perfect for middle 20s to late 30s as it is pretty and shinny but still long lasting without lookng like your 16\n

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain This is one of my staple lip colors for that subtle stained look. Traditional stained lips look require a matte stain color with gloss on top to create a gradient look, but this product does the job of both. Gives a splash of color with shine and moisture. The color is buildable and gorgeous, for a hint of everyday glamour. One of my favorite parts is the beautiful rectangular black and gold packaging. I don't regret getting this from Sephora, highly recommend this as a beauty buy.

This color is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t call it burgundy. It’s actually more pink, in my opinion. Luckily, that still works for me. I have dry lips so I like to put it on first and then put on some lip moisturizer or even chapstick. (I love to use Laneige’s water bank moisture cream... it makes your lips so puffy and kissable. So sexy!) Also, I find that the wand too big and oddly shaped and so when applying, it rarely stays just on my lips and takes a bit too long to apply— can’t do it on a whim. It stains very well — great for lips, not great for the rest of your face or anywhere else! I just wish it was a little bit more pointed so it can hit your lips more evenly from the get-go. A lip liner can help with this issue, though.

Best Lip Gloss I’ve Ever Used!

This glossy stain is amazing! You put it on once, it sets, and you do t have to reapply even after eating (unless biting a sandwich or something similar). Vibrant color. Longest lasting lip ever. I have tried many other high end brands but nothing else compares. I couldn’t find YSL glossy stain for about the past year. I hope this means it’s coming back permanently. Just in case it’s not, I bought 3.

YSL glossy stain is my absolute holy grail of lip products; I have been using them since their debut (10 years or more). I continue to try other high end lip products but NOT a single one can stand up against YSL glossy stain. Not one. My preference is long wear that fades to an even color (without touch ups), a lightweight feel, and a product that provides versatility (e.g., full on color and gloss down through the spectrum to a natural no-makeup mylipsbutbetter stain). I can also layer different colors and products to get a variety looks. Above all, the glossy stains have the best staying power hands down. Important because I have no time for any primping for 5 & 6 hour stretches at work. Love the color and feel of this lipstick

This is my new favorite lipstick. The color I selected is very complimentary to my face. Applies smoothly and doesn’t leave residue like other stain lipstick It is also soft and the shine is just right. Don’t love the applicator. It can sometimes be sharp on your lips as your quickly try to apply the color. The cost I think was high but don’t have anything else that I enjoy as much. Typically get tired of stain lipstick and throw them out but this one is special.
