Providing unparalleled optical quality with a modernized design, the Otus ML 85mm f/1.4 Lens from ZEISS for full-frame mirrorless camera systems is a re-imagined manual focus prime made for professionals. After not releasing a lens specifically designed for still photography in more than five years, ZEISS introduces its Otus ML-line, which delivers a more compact and portable form factor while retaining peak lens performance. Its fast maximum aperture allows users to create detailed imagery, even in dimly lit environments. The aspherical design of this lens coupled with ZEISS's Distagon engineering allow for optimal image sharpness and significantly reduced optical aberrations. Flagship Quality As an apochromatic optic, the Otus ML 85mm f/1.4 minimizes chromatic aberrations and colored artifacts, and it renders colors accurately and true-to-life. Distagon and Sonnar optical designs help this lens produce images with noticeably high contrast and sharpness. ZEISS T* antireflective coating is applied to effectively reduce ghosting and flare. 10 aperture blades contribute to the pleasing bokeh created by this lens, which greatly benefits portrait capturing. Precise Manual Focus Control Its long 260° focus throw amplifies accuracy and gives users greater control over ensuring subjects are fully in-focus. The internal focusing mechanism retains the lens's physical size while its focus adjusts. Yellow scale engravings stand out and allow for quick and accurate adjustments. Take advantage of the de-clicked aperture control by using the de-click key on the interior of the lens barrel, which allows silent and seamless transitions, a vital feature for video applications. Exceptional Craftmanship The blue sealing ring protects the lens and camera interface against dust and moisture. The lens's all-metal construction enables increased user confidence when shooting in the field. An operating temperature range from -4°F to 130°F provides dependability in extreme weather.
