Zempire Monstamat - King Single

My husband and I were looking to upgrade our sleeping arrangements and after much consideration we chose this KS Monstamat paired with the LRG speedy bed and had brilliant sleeps on them while camping for a few weeks over summer. The valve is excellent. It makes it super easy to inflate (we add a couple of extra breaths as personally like a firm sleep) and deflation is really straightforward and manageable too, without the need for giant super strong gorilla hands, as it prevents air re-entering the mattress once its squashed out. The packed size is great, the foam with the air makes it feel warm even overnight (unlike an air bed which for some reason always feels cold in the small hours). We had great sleeps every night. Highly recommend.

Bought sight unseen from reviews - is a bit thinner than I'd hoped

Just used for first time last weekend. I left mattress to fully self inflate prior and then inflated further by blowing a little extra air in.Initially it felt too firm but softened over a couple of days.The mattress got the job done but isn't as comfortable as my previous 4WD mattress which was slightly thicker.

Good Value by comparison

I have recently used the Exped, Zempire and Sea to Summit Sleeping mats. In my opinion the Exped is the most comfortable, highest quality, easiest to roll up and smallest packed size. It is similar in weight to the Sea to Summit - But you will pay a premium price for this. The Sea to Summit mats are comfortable, light weight and pack small - so are also a consideration. However, the Zempire Monstamat is what I consider the best value for money. It is more comfortable than the Sea to Summit with more firmness and body. It does not quite pack up as small and is slightly heavier than the other two.Bang for Buck - without compromising on comfort - the Zempire is the pick for me.

Good night sleep

We brought 2 king singles mattresses 2 days ago fits perfectly in our RV3 tent, the mattresses were very quick to inflate, we both had a great night sleep, we didn’t feel the ground or the coldness when we went south camping around 5 degrees. We pushed the mattress’s together they didn’t move. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants something comfortable and very compact to save room in the car.

Just like home

Super easy to set up, soft to lie on (with capacity to pop a few extra breaths of air in, if you prefer a harder mattress!), no crinkly sounds when you roll around... as close to being at home as you can get! I use mine on the Zempire Speedy Bed Large/King Single and it is the perfect setup. Deflating/rolling up can be a bit effortful the first few times, but it's getting easier with practice! The velcro straps to hold it tight once rolled are very handy when trying to get it back into the bag.The only two things I won't compromise on when camping is being adequately warm, and being adequately comfortable to sleep. Make sure you buy an air pump for it

Having done a lot of research on a comfortable self inflating mattress i chose this one. It is super comfortable and packs up great. To date have only used it 6 times, the first few times inflate was fantastic. The past few trips as video states you may need to blow more air into it which has been the case. Unless you are prepared to blow a generous amount of air to get firmness do yourself a favour and purchased a rechargeable air pump as it will do it in 2 seconds. Do your research as for the stated “budget price” there are probably some great comfortable air beds way cheaper as you will need an air pump for the self inflating anyhow one day. There are no leaks in the mattress either.

One didn’t inflate and awful service

Bought two King single mats at same time. One after a few hours use, deflated. See pictures for comparison of the two. Sent back into Snowys who couldn’t find an issue - despite clear photo evidence. Had to pay for postage. Why would a consumer lie? I’ve never shopped at snowys again in principle and neither are my camping friends. And, the issue remains. To pay $250 for a map that is clearly faulty and have this service is ordinary. Snowys offered to look at it again - but why and I’d have to pay for postage - again. Worse customer service I’ve ever had from any camping / outdoor store in 20 years of camping - and the first negative review I’ve written.

Very comfortable self inflating mattress

I’ve had some experience with self inflating mattresses prior to purchasing the Monstamat which were less than good. So when it came ti that’s one. It took a while and a lot of research to make the leap again. But it was well and truly worth it. The king single monstamat was great to sleep on in conjunction with a stretcher for three nights. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking to buy one.

Very comfy matt

Feels like sleeping on a medium-firm foam matt. You would hardly know its full of air.Material has a nice feel to it - dosent feel like plastic.One way valve makes inflating and deflating much easier.It only 'self inflates' so far. Definantly need to top it up with a few breths or a compressor.

As per the other reviews, this matt is great. I just got it so may update after a year or two but in short:Valves are greatEasy to set up (in that theres virtually no set up other than adding a couple breaths for preferred inflation. Does need an hour or more to inflate which is v reasonable)Two goes rolling to squeeze out air works fine to reduce size to pack away and is also v reasonable.If camping on an incline and in a sleeping bag you will probably want a friction source between the matt and your bag to stop sliding down eg: flannel sheet or something.I didnt use this matt with a stretcher as i was in a 1m high tent but i imagine that would be a very cosy set up.Feels very durable.
