It Looks good, love the gun-metal grey. Easy to move around. I cooked a roast lamb in it, beautiful. Also done meat patties and lamb cutlets - very hard to regulate - cooked to much and dried out. Found the baking tray and accessories a bit to manage. In the book they suggest putting on one side but it doesn't fit and unless you put it right in the middle there is no chance you can use the meat stand accessory as it is far too high. Difficult to find the right spot for cooking. Lots of nooks and crannies to clean. Not an easy job. Also makes a mess and spits and splatters everywhere if you lift the lid to help regulate the heat. Lamb was amazing though. Best I have ever eaten, Just melted in your mouth.

I'm pretty sure this model was designed by the marketing team only to sell accessories. It is, at best, a mediocre BBQ with some really dubious design choices (regarding the lid and grease trap in particular). My particular unit had a sticky thermometer needle, large cold spots on the grill when cooking lid up, and massive variance in the lid down temperatures. These are the reasons I ultimately chose to return it.The grease trap design is disgusting to have to clean, gets stuck if you even think about twisting it in, blocks movement of the lid, and it has a rubber seal that is always falling off that's a huge pain to get back on. The grease trap cannot be removed while the unit is sitting on it's feet - you'll need to tip the whole unit back or lift it up, which ... MoreI'm pretty sure this model was designed by the marketing team only to sell accessories. The grease trap cannot be removed while the unit is sitting on it's feet - you'll need to tip the whole unit back or lift it up, which is not fun when it's full of warm/hot grease. The disposable foil tray design that all the other models use is far superior (but the lid gets in the way of using one on this model)Cleaning the lid properly is impossible without disassembling the unit (requires sockets and a wrench to get it off), and it will drip grease all over whatever the BBQ sits on. Cleaning the bottom requires a screwdriver to remove the heat shield, and even then there are lots of nooks for grease to hide in, good luck getting it all out.Cooking results were terrible (both lid up and down) due the fact that it wont maintain a consistent temperature, which might have been easier to avoid if the thermometer worked properly. I'm pretty sure this is due to the vent size/shape/location in the back, which in turn only appears to exist to allow the lid to open while still keeping the fancy front control box shape.General fit and finish is sub-standard considering the price, with minor inclusions in the paint that will almost certainly cause chipping/peeling down the road (not covered by warranty), the plastic pieces on the locking mechanism had sharp flashing left on them from manufacturing process - care should be taken to not cut yourself. The stand is stable enough, but looks and feels cheap. All credit to BBQ's Galore - they accepted the return of my Ziggy for a refund and I was able to purchase something better, but I cannot recommend buying one of these. I'm much happier with the Weber Q1200 I replaced this with.

Love the colour, the shape is great. We have used it and am in love with our ziggy. Heats up really quickly.Ended up buying the trolley and a solid hot plate. Service at bbq galore was great...however would have liked to be told that you need a black top gas bottle with new reg fitting. Was informed about only using Canola oil on hot plates, as olive oil has salt in it and causes rust. Extremely happy and would highly recommend the ziggy.
This bbq is ok not fantastic. It does light well (first time, usually) and it does get hot! Too hot, and this is the problem. If you want to use the bbg with the lid down it gets too hot. The temperature gauge goes into the red zone very quickly even when on the lowest setting, forcing you to turn the bbq off to let it cool down. A cook ends up heating and cooling the oven all through the cooking process. When reading the instructions it does warn against this overheating. I assumed that because it had a thermometer it was able to stay within a specific heat range, but this is not the case.On the positive side, with the lid up it seems to work as you would expect.
We bought this in grey (I love the red as well!). It's our first BBQ and so my review will have to be w/o comparison with any. Wasn't sure what to buy. We were eyeing the Weber baby Q1000 but my wife was sceptic seeing the images - would be too small and would be expensive as well. We'd scouted Bunnings, Big W etc. and I happened to be in the BBQ Galore store at Taylors lake. I saw this and wow! Was just blown away with the red. It looked so simple in construction. The lady over there was very helpful and patient with all my stupid queries. She assured me that though it was small, she was using it at her place for 6 folks regularly. We finally purchased it at their Hoppers Crossing store. The person over there too was very helpful and informative (looks like a trend now!).We used it last night. The assembly of the cart was a bit tricky. The text next to the images isn't very clear. It's not intuitive to figure what end of a leg to insert and it's easy to put them upside down. So stickers to indicate (towards ground, towards top) would be helpful. The metal bracket too is a bit confusing to figure out.The BBQ: It's amazing. We tried veggies and chicken. Superb! The fat just goes and gets collected. Guess we are eating healthy? I did a little trick before starting the BBQ. I removed the burner and put an aluminum foil on the bottom - made a hole for the fat tray. Guess what, you remove the foil and the BBQ is clean! If its your first BBQ - this couldn't be any easier. Love it! (wish I'd gone for the red!)
We purchased the Ziggy portable for a light weight compact portable barbecue to use for our dinners as well as cooking for smaller groups of people. In this respect it works really well. Good heat, in built thermometer, and optional extras make for a versatile tool. It works well for my wife and I but we cooked for a bbq of six and it was churning food out quick, you just need to batch cook and strategically cook items so people can eat while the next batch is coming. Additionally the design makes it resistant to wind and is nice and compact so it fits in my garage. However a few things leave a bit of disappointment:1. The grease tray gasket rubber seal, once it pops of is a struggle to get back on, and it pops off every time you want to clean it, deeply frustrating and requires two people to reseat. Additionally ( though the instructions say this) don't tighten the grease trap too tight or it wont come off again easily.2. It only comes with a full length grill, not a half grill, so if you want a half hot plate, you need to buy another half grill to run both which is an added expense, kinda annoying when you just spent ~400 dollars on a bbq. Also when you buy the cast iron half plates, there are no cleaning instructions which would have been welcome.3. The portable legs are OK, if you take the BBQ everywhere it might be handy, but if you're carrying it to your cooking spot then back into the garage, it's a fairly average pair of legs, kinda flimsy and shakey, you could buy a table from the green shed for the $70 cost. Additionally, the security leash thing for the gas bottle only works with 9kg cylinders not 3.5kg cylinders.Overall a good product and I'd recommend it so long as you pick it up at the right price.
The little Ziggy is honestly great. I agonised over whether we should get the Ziggy or the Weber baby Q and I'm really glad we went with the Ziggy. Its cook surface is bigger, it gets hotter so you can cook with the lid open. Plus it's a very handsome little BBQ!Only downside is the Ziggy design are using the newest safety grade for gas bottles. This meant we couldn't use a swap and go gas bottle from the servo. But the team at BBQ galores sell the correct one, and can also fill it with gas for you. So not really a big deal. Its probably a good thing to have a higher safety rating for the gas bottle anyway!
I bought the pre-converted 3 burner ziggy from the BBQs Galore in Cannington (served by Michael Tay). I was looking at a few different options but Michael sold me on the Ziggy and I haven't been disappointed. It's an excellent little BBQ for the home. It was easy to connect to our gas outlet. Simple to clean (especially so after an in store simulated demo of this from Michael). Not a huge space to cook on, but it does the trick even when hosting a crowd of 10+ adults & kids. I bought a couple of additional hot plates, as I didn't feel the grill plates (that come standard with the bbq) would cut it and having the extra plates and grills are actually quite handy and give me a lot of flexibility. Not sure why, but the red coloured bbq was around $100 or so cheaper ... MoreI bought the pre-converted 3 burner ziggy from the BBQs Galore in Cannington (served by Michael Tay). Came to BBQs Galore Cannington store and was looking for a LPG gas BBQ. After speaking to the sales assistant Michael he'd pointed me towards the Ziggy 3. This comes with the option of either gas cylinder or LPG (no conversion kit required). Michael then gave a bit of a demo on assembly and cleaning of the BBQ and this all seemed fairly easy and would make BBQing life a pleasure. Anyhow, I bought the Ziggy 3 and have enjoyed every moment since. Apart from fulfilling my cooking needs, the assembly was simple and the clean up afterwards is sooooo easy. I'd say the only feature that I didn't really like is the fact that the bbq caddy is quite open (so if you have young kids that might play around this area anything within the caddy is within reach and accessible - for ... MoreCame to BBQs Galore Cannington store and was looking for a LPG gas BBQ. Anyhow, thanks Michael for the great advice and assistance and I would happily recommend this BBQ to anyone.
