Great CPU for the price.I decided to upgrade my system with a budget in mind, went with the 12600KF, Asus B660 Plus board and Corsair 3200mhz DDR 4 ram, stayed with my RTX 2070. My PC does everything I want and stays nice and cool with a 360 AIO. Running Cinebench 2024, CPU never got above 60° on multi core test. A step up from my 4790K. I don’t play a lot of games but do edit videos regularly so far without any hassles, for me the 12600KF was a great choice.

Awesome gaming/multi-tasking CPU

The 12600KF easily powers through any tasks I assign it using all of its cores and threads. Exactly what I was looking for.Power usage was much lower than expected, despite being a 125W CPU I observed the CPU using HWMonitor rarely go over 65W during gaming and casual usage, only when facing the all core CPU intensive applications like Handbrake conversions did it need to stretch its legs and use the full 125W TDP its rated for. This CPU does not include a cooler due to its 'K' designation so don't forget to purchase one.My only gripe with the this purchase actually had nothing to do with the CPU itself. Walmart.com shipped the CPU in its retail carton inside of a padded enveloped; it did not hold up well and the retail carton was crushed on several sides. Luckily, the CPU itself seemed fine and hasn't had issues. Still, I have probably ordered 30 CPU's over the last 20 years for various builds for myself or friends and that was the first time I have ever seen a CPU shipped in a padded envelope and not a separate box. Deducting rating points for the subpar shipping method didn't seem fair as its not any fault of the product, just wanted to mention it.

Fantastic

I built a new PC recently, moving on from my old one which had a 5 year old processor (1st gen Ryzen from 2017) which I had been having various problems with due to instability with it and system RAM. The difference is night and day. Everything is so snappy now. Runs at low temperatures. Specs wise with regard to performance it even exceeds the i9 of the previous gen (the 11900k that is) so a pretty good processor. I had really been considering the 12700k but was at my budget on parts and couldn't justify an extra £100 for what User Benchmark says is a 4% performance increase! The 12600k absolutely seems like the best bang for buck CPU at this moment in time.

Good CPU for OC and Gaming

12th gen Intel i5 KF series, y'all know what it is. It's easy to setup and start overclocking. Be sure to update bios, intel management system, and xtreme tuning utility to latest versions. As of August 2024, intel has been rolling out bios updates to all of the above. The updates are specifically address issues with 13th and 14th gen, BUT they improve power regulation overall, which is useful for 12th gen, too.

Good processor

I needed to upgrade my old processor and chose this one. Compared to my old processor, it is much better, but compared to newer processors, its performance is slightly lower than the latest generations. It's a good option for gaming if you're building a computer with a GPU up to a 4080 (it can handle it, but the FPS in games will be limited by the processor). For a build with a 4070 Ti or Super, it can be confidently recommended. Just don't pair it with DDR5 memory, as it's significantly more expensive than DDR4 and doesn't provide a substantial performance boost.

Great Performance

Installed on my rig recently and it boosted performance in DCs (a flight sim) and in Unreal Engine 5 editor I could keep my quality settings high. Really nice for the price. Rated it 4 stars because you do need a separate cooling solution.

Review of Intel Core i5 12600KF Unlocked Processor

I have two systems: 1. 12600kf+z790mb 2. 12700kf+b760mbActually, the prices of both combinations are very closed.12600kf with mild overclocked also performing closing to 12700kf stock, but with higher single core Mhz. So, it would be more suitable for gaming.Which I actually use the 12600kf for gaming only, and the 12700kf for multi tasking works.

Ive been rooting for AMD since Ryzen launched but when I saw the 5600X pricing of basically £300 I decided I'd wait to see what intel brought to the table. £260 for a CPU (12600KF), that contends with the almost £400 5800X, is the clear winner. I have no brand loyalty because corporations don't care. I've got it under a Noctua NH U12A Chromax Black, which comes with the LGA1700 bracket in the box, and the 12600KF settles at around 65c in majority of my games which include titles such as: COD MW2019, BF1 and BFV, Forza Horizon 5, GTA V, Mafia Definitive Edition, RDR2, and othersI am running it with MCE off which means it uses stock clock speeds. I have seen some cores hit 4.9GHz for a few seconds in very low loads but in gaming the P-cores stay at 4.5GHz and the E-cores bounce between 3.4 and 3.7GHz. Total package power in games stays around 50 to 75WI haven't got other CPUs to bench this against but according to reviews from sources such as Gamers Nexus; LTT and Hardware Unboxed, this i5 beats the 5800X in almost every game, definitively beats the 5600X in all production workloads, and even gives the 5900X tough competition in gaming. For the current pricing it's a better buy than AMD's offering
