Performance:Absorbs well. Can use as a primer before makeup. Actually did a lab experiment about uv absorbance with this sunscreen and the results came out rly nice. High coverage and protection from the sun.Suitability:i hv oily skin and this works well for me. I used sunplay before which is always so oily and makes my face feel sticky. But this one drys up fast and sits on my skin well. I suggest buying during sale!Formulation:No white cast so that's a big plus!

Good waterproof sunscreen!

I can see why this is a holy grail sunscreen for a lot of people. It's definitely lighter than most European and American sunscreens, but it's not super light like other Japanese sunscreens I've tried. I think that this can be overlooked depending on what your needs are. If you have skin prone to hyperpigmentation, then this one would probably be better because it has good staying power (but still reapply it!).The things I don't like are the strong scent and the warming sensation it has when going on. I think those things might not be good for sensitive skin.

High hopes, disappointing results :(

Sadly the Anessa perfect UV sunscreen skincare milk SPF 50 was a miss for me. The good, it does go in to the skin quite easily. The bad, it pilled horrible, it was quite shocking to see as the many 'new to me' sunscreens I have tried this year, this was the only sunscreen that pilled. I'm so disappointed, especially since this product is made by the Shiseido company. There are so many great sunscreens out there, I recommend skipping this one and trying something else that doesn't pill. :( (PS - it also has a citrus smell and leaves a very slight white caste.

Review on Medium-Dark Skin

It's very hard to find a review on this for someone with my skin tone (or darker), so hopefully this helps. My skin tone is about Fitzpatrick V. People have said this has a whitecast, and it did at first until I switched my application technique. Basically, I apply a line to one of my cheeks, spread it around then pat it in instead of rubbing it in like I'd normally do. I then repeat to my other cheek, etc. Not sure why, but I get 0 whitecast that way.As for the sunscreen itself, it's become an HG. If you have oily skin you'd like this. I find this makes an amazing mattifying base for under makeup. Even on its own, it almost seems to blur my pores. It's not shiny, and it's my only sunscreen I have that's not shiny either. Doesn't bother me though.As for its waterproof claims, I've tested it out and can agree. I've worked out and showered with this and you could see the water beading up on top of it, which seems to be a good indicator of how waterproof/resistant a sunscreen is (though probably not the end-all-be-all). I could also still feel the sunscreen on my skin if I touched/rubbed it. I have also roughly rubbed my face with this on purpose to see how friction resistant it is, and it didn't budge much either. The main thing is that when it gets wet it turns white, so if you plan to sweat a lot/go to the beach with this you might want to top it with a tinted sunscreen.Overall I love this sunscreen. Keeps my oils at bay, looks great on bare skin and does well under makeup. I would just recommend to not roughly blend your makeup as that could disturb the 'friction resistant' layer and may cause it to look patchy. Otherwise, its beautiful under there too
