This is an excellent grinder for the price .I agree with all the good stuff mentioned in the other 5 star reviews. It is clearly a quality product .Is this for you though? It dependsIt is totally for you if you: Are on a budget, not often brew more than 1 cup, would like to travel with it, don't mind the tacky logo. Quality wise is great for any brew method BUT a single espresso takes a lot of effort to grind. It's a dream to be able to try all the aeropress recipes thanks to this grinder's versatility. So , this grinder is not the best option for you if:You want to brew more than 20g at a time. You will soon be frustrated by having to grind twice or more. You want to make espresso often. Unless you really want a daily workout I would not choose this grinder ... Unless you really want a daily workout I would not choose this grinder as a daily driver in that case, it's smooth but will make you sweat on finer grind settingsIf your budget is not that limited: this grinder is the best possible quality for the buck but it does have to drop some stuff to have such a small price . If you can afford a more expensive grinder I would advise to invest in something like a Comandante which is more versatile and stylish (again, hate the zpresso logo )They're similar quality wise in certain settings (experienced coffee enthusiasts could not tell the difference in a blind test) but the comandante allows for a lot more coffee and is much more convenient for espresso .Personally I chose this for the price, despite brewing for two people everyday ,and I don't regret it. I knowingly made the decision that I would have to grind twice and brew twice with the aeropress. I think its a pretty nice experience and not too hard , but that will depend on everyone's preferences for how to spend 10 minutes every morning, for me it's worth it and I don't think having a bigger grinder would have made much odñf a difference in my case. Overall I think it's a good option for many people and does not disappoint .

Works well for grinding coffee for espressos using the ROK and also for coarser grinds for the the AeroPress. Once the settings for fine and coarse are found then it is easy to adjust between grinds and easy to clean. Way superior to the ceramic grinders due to consistency and ease of use.

This is my first manual grinder and the experience has been good. The 1zpresso q2 has a solid build quality.I expected the grinding to take some arm strength and despite the heptagonal design, it still does! The actual grind size actually took some experimenting to get right. I now use a 10 setting for my Bialetti Brikka and it produces a nice flow, crema and great extraction.

I really like this grinder. It feels well-made, the adjustment clicks work well, and the hand motion is really smooth. It is small, so you'll need to do separate grinds per person.I've found that it *can* grind for espresso, but you probably don't want to. It can take a few minutes to go through a full batch with a reall small burr spacing, but for filter/aeropress, it works really well.
Ordered this sleek looking grinder after going through dozens of reviews of other products and have not been disappointed. This is well made grinder made of quality materials and grinding coffee is easy and hassle free. Always order my coffee stuff from Alternative Brewing and have never been let down, they are the best around. Thanks for great service and great products!
It's a very pleasant feeling to use this grinder. The handle is very ergonomic, fits into the palm nicely and just makes the whole experience very smooth. I like the way the handle clicks into the top of the grinder. I was worried that vigorous grinding would disconnect the handle from the body but that has not happened. 100% sold on the way that you can scoop out the beans in the bottom compartment and then it fits neatly into the top compartment so you end up with no beans spilling over onto the kitchen bench. NEGATIVES: I wanted quite fine, almost espresso grade fineness, on my grind and it's a little on the large side. It still makes a great cup of coffee with my Wacaco Nanopresso (I was aware that it wasn't the best hand grinder for espresso before I bought it, ... Nit-picking, I am not a fan of the 1zpresso graphic on the grip is a bit tacky. That said, the grip feels good on the hand when grinding.
I admit this is my first grinder so I have nothing to compare it too, but this is a beautifully made product. The packaging is great and it comes with a nifty storage bag and a cleaning brush. The grinder is so well machined. Every piece connects perfectly with no wobble or imperfections at all. As far as I can tell, all the parts are metal, compared to a couple of others I was looking at that seem to have some plastic components.Setting the grind level was easy but I had to use the online manual and a few youtubes to understand what the clicks and numbers mean (I'm new). Hint - look up 'Jess Lee' on Youtube for a quick and easy tutorial. The Q2 holds about 20 grams of beans and takes less than a minute to grind so it's perfect for a single serve on my Aeropress. ... Even though this is marketed as a 'travel' grinder I'd have no issue with using this beauty every day.
Great manual grinder, I watched every review online and went backwards and forwards if this was going to be able to grind down for my expresso machine. Good news is that it does great! I use a double floor basket in my Sunbeam cafe series machine and I use 30 clicks (one revolution) and the grinder does a brilliant job, I think it is even more consistent than my electric grinder. And if you need finer you have 30 click finer to play with. Grinding 16g of beans take around 90 seconds to 2 minutes, none of this 30 minute + rubbish you see online. It's also built beautifully! Would recommend.
Only used it for a month or so but seems to be well made, good weight in your hand and fits nicely inside an aeropress.Grind consistency seems good to my eye adjustment steps are plenty fine enough for my use and can even get down to espresso fine.Biggest surprise to me was just how fast it grinds, having previously had a porlex the difference is huge.Small bean capacity being the only real downside to its small size, still fits 15-20g or so no worries.
it's good. I got it for my girlfriend and she loves it. we used to use a porlex to grind the morning coffee and she has reported that the 1zpresso takes "roughly half the rotations" to grind the same amount of coffee. so everyone's life is better because of this little thing. wow
